Asian Consortium To Buy Out City

LEICESTER CITY are on the brink of a multi-million pound buy-out by an Asian consortium.

The Championship club have been linked with takeovers recently after chairman Milan Mandaric indicated he was willing to listen to offers.

And a deal to sell to the South Asian group, whose main players come from Indonesia, could be completed this week.

The Foxes appointed former QPR and Swansea boss Paulo Sousa as manager this week on the understanding that new investment would arrive this summer.

Super-agent Pini Zahavi has brokered the potential deal and Leicester appear to have found new owners with the cash and desire to take them back into Premier League.

The prospective new owners want to make Leicester a household name in South Asia by bankrolling a return to the top flight and setting up academies in their home region.

They regard Leicester the city, with its large Indian population, as the ideal place to fulfil their dream of building a club. Leicester are relatively clear of debt and the recently-built 32,000-seater Walkers Stadium, as well as the successful youth academy, are already of Premier League standard.

The Foxes secured a play-off place in the Championship last season in their first year after being promoted as champions from League One.

But they allowed boss Nigel Pearson to leave the Walkers Stadium for Hull last month.

When something actually starts to happen, that's when I'll start paying more attention.

For now, I think I'll just head to bed.

It's in the news of the world this morning so like others have said I'll wait until it's confirmed before I believe it although I like the idea that they will promote it intheir own country which should be where they will make a return on their investment so will not depend on the club being always in profit but will have to wait and see.

Milan's got to sell up and get back to America before the taxman comes knocking.

This can only get worse and this is real bad news to me.

I don't want owners in charge of my club who have never seen a football before.

I would rather sit in the championship for the next 50 years than buy ourselves to the top of the english game and having to sit next to plastic batty boys week in week out.
