Ex-MP Wittaya Khunpluem, son of former eastern godfather Kamnan Poh, has pledged to spend up to 30 million baht to build up the striking force of his Chonburi FC, which finished second last season.

Former cabinet member Sonthaya Khunpluem, a brother of Mr Wittaya, is also known to be spending a similar amount to keep Pattaya United in the top flight after they were almost relegated this season.

Mr Sonthaya has stated his intention is not to raise his personal popularity, but added his involvement with the club over recent decades could mean some Pattaya United fans might not be able to discern between politics and sport

Out of interest, did anyone else here note that Stringer has heard how this takeover will be (and i quote); "fully transparent", "all above board" and when asking Lee Hoos on the matter of sponsership in an interview, whether this takeover / investment, had a link to sponsership, he said; "...well not exactly".

This means something like Chang or Petronas with there own seperate names of their sporting links, could be a viable reason why we have no sponser yet.

As most of you have already picked up on though, we are all speculating (mainly from 606 info & the merc).

The deal was agreed in the summer and that is why Nigel Pearson told to find another club as the new owners wanted Paulo Sousa as there manager. Milan has sold 49% of the club and will sell the other 51% at the end of this season on the hope of getting some of his investment back if Leicester were to be promoted.

The shirt sponser will be anounced by the end of this week! it is related to the new owners.

The buy out will be anounced before the 1st home game against Middlesborough as it should all be completed by then.

On the transfer front Leicester now have a fair bit of money to spend and will sign 4–6 players in the next 7–10 days some have already been agreed.
