body102 Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 In an interview on East Midlands news , when mentioned tat some supporters would like Heskey back , Oliveira didn't dismiss it and virtually said anything is possible .
Guest Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I wondered how long it would take to start this thread after the Bellamy thing
body102 Posted 19 August 2010 Author Posted 19 August 2010 I wondered how long it would take to start this thread after the Bellamy thing Just mentioning what was said on the news , personally i would like to see a more natural goal scorer come in . Heskey was a class in his time at Leicester so why ruin it by having him back . Obviously the money he put in when we were near administration will always mean he will be a legend but if he came back and didn't do well all that would be forgot by the doom and loom mongers who would soon get on his back .
darko2k7 Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Would love to see BRUNO Back at City think he would dominate every defence in the division with his straight BUT think his wage demands wouldn't be worth it unless a deal with either Villa or Heskey ( depending on the transfer ) was struck
MeatyLCFC Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 hasnt heskey said in the past that he's always wanted to play his lasted season at city
dpjfox Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 its possible surely, if he wants it and im sure the owners would like someone on board who will be recognised back in Thailand. If Bellamy can go to Cardiff, surely Bruno can come home
Jimmy Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 no he's retired form England playing in the prem isn't essential for him any more but I doubt Villa would let him go for free, he'd probably command wages higher then anyone else here and would no doubt take Howard's place in the system but the money could be better spent else where IMO
dandannieldanok Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I wondered how long it would take to start this thread after the Bellamy thing Why though?, they're at completely different ends of the scale and any comparison is quite frankly an insult to Bellamy. Bellamy was one of the premier league's top 5 players last season, Emile Heskey barely made 5 appearances last season (and for good reason).
Finchy Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 A season long loan surely could happen? He's not really gonna get a look in at Villa, he loves us, he doesn't need to move home, it's perfect Emile. Worth a go, he'd be excellent in this league i'm sure.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I wouldnt want Heskey back here really. Thought he was a great player here, a better player here and at his early Liverpool days than he has been ever before in his career. Cant help thinking he ahs gone backwards in his career a bit, he was quick strong, powerful and could finish chances ok too, he seems to lack a few of these now. Wouldnt want him back in case he doesnt cut it, meaning fans will get on his baack when he doesnt deserve it. Should be remembered for his time here with MON.

Should be remembered for his time here with MON. I agree with this to an extent; but it would be nice to see a Leicester born and bred player - who wants to wear the shirt play! Nostalgia aside - i wouldn't want Emile feeling like he'd let us down, or had deminished our respect for what he has done for us over the years. Just that cross to Parker in the P/O Semi-Final at Stoke was enough
C-man Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 he played for Villa tonight Ahh, deals off then. What good is he to us if he's cup-tied in Europe?!
dandannieldanok Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 We get it. that's the thing though, nobody 'gets it'. I don't know how many more dismal seasons it'll take before people 'get it'. People are stuck in a timewarp and think it's still 1997 when this guy was actually good. People will only 'get it' if he does sign for us and they watch him play and see the reality.

I would like to see him back at the club in the future, maybe as a coach or something.
C-man Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Agree with this. I would like to see him back at the club in the future, maybe as a coach or something. Thats an even worse idea than getting him back as a player. He clearly has no confidence in his own ability and hasn't for some time (Probably because everyone loves telling him he's shit). He'd never be able to instill confidence into his charges. I want to see him back as a fan.

Bellamy was one of the premier league's top 5 players last season, Emile Heskey barely made 5 appearances last season (and for good reason). I didn't mean it was a direct comparison of the players (that's obviously a stupid thing to do), i meant in the 'player coming back to his hometown club' way. I joked about it myself, didn't think anybody (and by that I don't mean the OP, but whatever news outlet it was that was suggesting this) would take it seriously

I think someone needs to tell this guy what league we're playing in. Would Steve Howard have been good for England in the world cup? Heskey could do a very good job in the Championship.

I want to see him back as a fan. I don't know, maybe he'd thrive being at a club where he is truly liked and also has affection for. He was a good player in his day and possibly the responsiblity of being in charge might bring the best out of him. I wouldn't have a problem with your idea, I've always had the impression he's unfinished business here.

Oh I know, I don't think we should bring him in either based on his current form. Saying that if he did come I'd probably wet myself through nostalgia seeing him in our shirt again. It just seems like you're attracted to Heskey posts like flies on **** - Each to their own like, I think we all know you're not his biggest fan by now though.
Dames Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Very much a confidence player. Every other club he's been at he's been ridiculed by the supporters. Here he's held in very high regard and nigh on Hero Worshipped. I'm not saying this would make him super man but if the man feels loved he'll be more confident and in this division a confident Heskey would be an asset to any team. The majority of peoples opinions of Heskey stem from the drivel written in the sun.
