Would love to see him here, big fan of his style as he creates goals which most people don't understand from a striker. At Championship level I think he'd be a hell'a lot more confident too! As for wages, I can't see Heskey asking for much seeing as he knows that the club need to have sensible budget structures etc and the fact that he obviously has affection for the club due to him donating towards the Linekar consortium.

I agree,there is a huge jump, as we well know between champ/prem.Heskey played in the world cup and came out with more credit than most.The sheep mentality of the fans made Emile an easy target.Owen/Rooney loved playing along side him.The passion for a club he loves, and the love of the fans for him,would be just what he, and us would want.A signing like that, and the fosse boys would bring the atmosphere back to the good old days! I hope!

Come on though, if you don't think Emile could make an impact in the championship there is something wrong with you. Perhaps we can pursuade Owen to come and join his favourite strike partner as well - we can dream.

We're talking about a 32 year old Heskey who left us 10 years ago, but was still playing international football a couple of months ago. Dickov was about 30 (?) in his first spell and 36 in his second. Its not really the same. He left as a striker as well, he would becoming back as a target man (blame Steve Bruce for that I say). If we could teach him how to finish again though, you can't deny he would be the Didier Drogba of the Championship, a player that every other team wants. He would piss all over any champ'ship defence with a bit of confidence! Do it! Sign him up! Anyway, I can't see us "smashing" our wage structure as is claimed so let's not get excited.

C-man Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 We'd never be able to afford his wages without unsettling others. If one player is on a lot higher it drives up the cost of renegotiating contracts. It wouldn't be a wise move.
