Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 When your opinion is that Heskey was sh*t for Leicester, it deserves to be ripped and saying "it's my opinion" doesn't cover you. There is a very good reason why Liverpool paid 11 million for him, he was very, very good for us. No matter what your opinion of him now is, you can't say he was bad for us because it just isn't true. If he ever came back to us, the reception he would get would prove this. Over-rated, thats why Liverpool payed that much money for him. He goes to ground far too easy. If he would of spent more 'Playing Football' he would have scored more goals.
Joe. Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Your talking out your arse. When he played for us, he spent most of the time on the deck. Whenever he was through on goal, he'd hit the floor, try get a foul. He can't score for shit. Why should a player like Steve Howard, (Who has had a great end to last season, and a decent start to this season) be pushed out to make way for a signing, that will only be here to boast to other clubs. It's bullshit. Just because the guy is supposedly 'a legend' when in my eyes, he wasn't much kop here when he started out. A Leicester City legend for me, is the likes of Weller, Worthington, Banks, Lineker, Walsh, Shilton. Not Emile Heskey. Let the quick-fired ripping of my opinions commence. It's my opinion. Yeah you're right, why should (hypothetically) Steve Howard, an average Championship striker for the whole of his career, get ousted by Emile Heskey, recently retired from international football with England and consistent Premier League player for over ten years? Madness I tell you, madness. What a tool.

milan_foxes Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 It's a done deal, £2 million. http://community.betfair.com/football/go/thread/view/94070/25685721/HESKEY_SIGNS_FOR_LEICESTERtpye into google: leicester sign heskey and its the bottom one. hope its true tbh! BBRRUUNNOO!!i dnt no if it is true im justed putting on here wot i sore! See, there could be some truth in it. That Betfair thread started at 21:07 and my post was at 21:29 so it's not like they saw my comment and did it. and i certainly didn't copy that because I got mine from a mate. Emile Heskey No.9?
Ozwin Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 If we sign Heskey I will do a little wee in my pants.
topharry123 Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Think if we could get him it would be a great signing for us. Being a lifelong Leicester fan, I have huge respect for Heskey and the way he played for us when he did. Even met him a few times and he was a gtreat guy who would always say a few words to the fans, even when leaving with his family after a loss. While he may not be the same player that he was all them years ago, reality is that we were at a higher level then also. If he cam in, i've no doubt he could do a good job for us. He's still a very good player and was a first choice striker for England last year, regardless of people's opinion of him. This could just be a rumour with no real substance to it, but I for one hope he comes home and pulls on a Leicester shirt again! His wages may be high, but I would imagine the amount of money in shirt sales alone will play a big part to make up for it! I'll be putting my name down for one as soon as he signs, if he does sign!

It's strange how you think he ain't much kop when Liverpool, one of the most successful teams in the world thought he was worth 11M. He'd help us alot and you know it.
mmarkie Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Just hope he hasn't let me down on this. We can only hope!

It's my opinion. heskey is a legend. Not entirely for his performances for us (though he did score some important goals) but also because he chipped in to save the club in 2003. Still i'd rather we look at someone younger and more prolific (pitman of bournemouth and austin of swindon come to mind)

It's my opinion. the old he falls over all the time. I can only assume you never saw Heskey down Filbert or you weren't old enough? He was a cracking player for us. 15,000 fans didn't chant Bruno, Bruno for the fun of it. Heskey is ten times the player Howard was/is. Howard didn't even get capped for the Scottish first team and has been in the lower reaches throughout the majority of his career. Your opinion is void.

Yes its your opinion, but a crap one!read previous posts about goals scored for Liverpool. How many times do we have to say its also his link up play for others, which will create chances.with all the other names being banded around to come to us,do you think these other players are better.i dont.thats my opinion!
HonradaRaposa Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 As Danny Baker says if you want to know how much someone understands football ask their opinion of Emile Heskey.

Steve Howard is rubbish, he has always been rubbish and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. I was going to rip in to the rest of your 'opinion' but it would only be cruel and to be honest I am stunned.
Toby or not Toby Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 I still think this will not happen, but will happily eat my words if it does.
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 well if we sign Heskey Leicester944 should feel free to never go see us play again, 1 less disabled claiming to be a Leicester fan
Ricey Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 From the Merc... The City boss has also denied any interest in bringing Emile Heskey back to the club, amid a clamour by supporters that it should happen.Sousa said: "I don't know anything about that and I don't speak about it because of the respect I have, especially, for my players. "I also don't allow myself to talk about players from other clubs." Doesn't sound like a done deal.
cambridgefox Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 From the Merc... Doesn't sound like a done deal. Did he say talk or sign any players from other clubs.
Tommeh Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Never realised that Leicester944 was Dandanieldanok's duplicate account
David Guiza Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 It never was a done deal or anything even close. Oliveria was questioned and said he wouldn't rule anything out, that means nothing. I wouldn't rule out one day him signing for Anstey Nomads.
Petchy Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 Emile Heskey No.9? He'd be number 21 I think Leaked photo shows it too.. yet again.. no photo-shopping involved.
stix Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 He'd be number 21 I think Leaked photo shows it too.. yet again.. no photo-shopping involved. Awesome!!
Babylon Posted 23 August 2010 Posted 23 August 2010 From the Merc... Doesn't sound like a done deal. Probably because it's all made up by the media!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
