Guest Bilo Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Bollocks mate, they just knicked it off the continent anyway! Fair shout, but they're the only fans in England to sing it. To take it from them and adopt it as their own would show bugger all originality on our part and leave us looking like Derby's laughable Barmy Army who nick any half-decent chant they hear on the terraces. We want songs that are linked with us and only us, hence the apolitical lyrics to Bella Ciao that AFIE penned. It's a great song though, shame Palace beat us to the punch with it but it'd be a shame to have other groups slaughtering us for a lack of originality at such an early stage in the Fosse Boys' existence.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Fair beans, I'll go back to my hole! Feel free to join us for the Scunny game if you can make it though.
CosbehFox Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 I have heard countless fans sing it now. Oxford and Accrington to name two.
lildave3 Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Most of these european teams sing the same tunes, yet you all love them! But if that's the way you want to do it then fair enough... Although I love how Bilo harps on about originality but basically just repeats whatever Dave and Liam have said.

Although I love how Bilo harps on about originality but basically just repeats whatever Dave and Liam have said. I'm part of the same group as they are, think it's pretty obvious that we're going to have a consensus on that kind of issue. To be honest on the tunes, most of the ones we actually sing regularly are traditional Leicester ones anyway. It's just that most of the tunes that are popular in Europe show a bit more imagination than they do in England, a million and one songs set to Go West gets boring after a while. Introducing some of the European Ultra songs to matches keeps things a little more fresh.
Finnegan Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 You should totally sing some Welsh songs in honour of Andy King's deep Maidenhead valleys roots. I could teach you Sosban Fach like.
MC Prussian Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 At least one "minnow" showed the fat cats the tricks today... Mainz beat Gayern away 2-1, and not even an own-goal could stop FSV from winning. Lewis Holtby set up Sami Allagui after only a quarter of an hour and Szalai sealed the three points after 77.
Edmund Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Levante 0 - 0 Real Madrid Bore draw, Madrid didn't look anything special.
CosbehFox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Bilo, I even heard Huddersfield supporters singing the St Pauli number today. That win keeps Mainz top and seven points!!! clear of third. Dortmund kept up the pressure with a 3-1 win over Pauli. Schalke's dream strikeforce combined to deny Mochengladbach 2-2. Also, the evening fixture was half-decent.....Werder 3-2 Hamburg.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Dortmund really do sound like they're playing some great stuff. Kagawa seems an absolute steal for roughly £300,000, looks like Sahin is finally hitting his potential, too. Their team can only get better providing they aren't all sold off.
Samilktray Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Hercules are the only foreign team who are relevant right now.
Tilley Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Considering he's trending on Twitter, I'm presuming Milan Baros has done something of some note today?
lildave3 Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Considering he's trending on Twitter, I'm presuming Milan Baros has done something of some note today? Hat-trick.
J.Lisemore Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Until recently, i didn't realise just how boring Italian football was.
CosbehFox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Hercules are the only foreign team who are relevant right now. For buying their opponents in the second division to ensure payment?
CosbehFox Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 http://todayfoot.com/Football/21050/ St Pauli-Borrussia goals. Dortmund's first two are beautiful in a team sense.
RedHux Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 St Pauli played well and looked more likely to score in the beginning of the 2nd half. Dortmund looked very clinical in front of goal though and were a class above, aided as it was by some ropey defending.
lildave3 Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Fener beating Kasimpasa 4-2, Alex, Emre, Dia and bloody Niang again! Lifts them up to 6th I think.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Belfast derby tonight between Glentoran and Linfield if anyone's interested.
FoxyPV Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Belfast derby tonight between Glentoran and Linfield if anyone's interested. I'll put this one on the backburner. Hardly european football though. Karate football, maybe?

FoxyPV Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Guessing you're a Cliftonville fan judging by your political views? Nah, I, thankfully, don't watch local soccer as it's too sectarian but mainly because it's absolute fucking shite.

Thought Cliftonville had a left wing reputation. Does seem to be a shocking standard to be fair. Wouldn't mind a pre-season tour over there though.
