The Doctor Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Yoan Gouffran - allergic to grass Of all the things for a footballer to be allergic to, grass would have to be one of the most unfortunate. And that's exactly what Bordeaux's Yoan Gouffran suffers from, according to a report in Le Parisien. Such an allergy is, of course, a major impediment to a professional football who will play 36 of les Girondins’ 38 games this season on the surface, and as a result, the 24-year-old former Caen star has been forced to see an allergist in order to alleviate or at least control the problem. “For a footballer, it's embarrassing,” [bordeaux manager] Jean Tigana told the capital-based publication. “He would have [been better to] play on synthetic pitches in Nancy or Lorient.” But, he doesn't. Let's look at the bright side, though -- you never have to worry about Gouffran taking a dive. Such an offense would be more an act of masochism than cheating.
lcfc_jme Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 match fixing? lol tell him to not quite his day job! lol Wish I'd listened to him now, if I'm honest! Although he had been saying for a few weeks that they'd lose, and predicted a heavy defeat against Bayern, so meh. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-SdMV3CKzQ Wow he's good. Overrated.
Mikey Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 In his day, Ronaldinho was easily the most enjoyable footballer to watch that I've ever seen. Still good now mind.
Collier Posted 18 October 2010 Posted 18 October 2010 Couldn't find a thread for Scottish football, but Colin Calderwood has taken over at Hibs. Should be a decent appointment for them.

Forest fans might disagree with you. Took him three years to get out of League One with large resources and was sacked with them bottom of the Championship. He might be more successful north of the border a la Levein but there's little from his record in England to make me think so.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Real Madrid win 6-1 and Ronaldo bags 4. Cracking.
Tilley Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Glad Madrid won, I think that put them top? Anyone but fucking Barca.
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Gayern only managed to get a dull 0-0 at Hamburg and are still lingering in the middle of the Bundesliga table. Schalke, too, are finding life difficult with all these new, million-heavy signings. After the recent win in the Europa League, they scraped another point away at Frankfurt. Bremen are marching up the table following a 4-1 away win at Moenchengladbach. Freiburg have moved up to 7th after a home win over Kaiserslautern. The two top teams, Dortmund (Hoffenheim at home) and Mainz (Leverkusen away) play today.
MikeyT Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 PSV 10-0 Feyenoord. Bloody hell! Did Feyenoord have the under 10's out or something?!!!
Wilkesy Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 PSV 10-0 Feyenoord. Just heard about this. Ridiculous.
Koke Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Feyenoord had three 18 year olds, three 19 year olds, and two 20 year olds on the pitch. That's 8 out of the starting 11 being under 21.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Bizarre result for Feyenoord. They've started slowly but that result was something else. They only conceded 31 goals all season last season but have already shipped 24 in 10 this season.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Feyenoord are absolute gash nowadays apart from a few youngsters, Wijnaldum / Fer are decent but will probably move on to better things sharpish.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Dortmund got a point at home to Hoffenheim by drawing 1-1, despite going 1-0 down, then Sahin scoring a penalty but having to re-take it and missing. Mainz got back to winning ways after last weeks' set-back, by grabbing a good 3 points away at Leverkusen. They're now 2 points clear of Dortmund at the top and 8 points clear of 3rd placed Hannover. Superb. Struggling Stuttgart managed to beat St Pauli at home 2-0 as well, lifting them out the relegation zone and seeing Pauli lie 10th after 9 games.
lildave3 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Fenerbahce - Galatasaray today, huge game, obviously lived upto the hype. 0-0 draw.
MC Prussian Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 All you need is a miracle, all you need is a man made of steel, or rather named Steele, in this case Michael Stahl from German Second Divison club TuS Koblenz. His cracking goal from the middle of the park (a distance of 61 metres) in the cup game against Hertha Berlin was certainly Gudjonsson-like:

Reminds me of that Jason Cundy goal at Ipswich http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00Oese125H8

C-man Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Feyernoord bounced back with a 3-0 win last night.
