MC Prussian Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 FC Basel protest about their game's kickoff being moved to accommodate some Tennis Should've brought more with them. Bloody state-owned TV changing kick-off times as they like it. As if we haven't already seen enough of Roger Federer. Bringing tennis balls to a match to display your discontent at switched TV schedules is nothing new for FC Basel fans, though. They did the same last year away at Young Boys.
C-man Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 Anyone who hasn't seen Dortmund's goals at Hannover should check them out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iUEJE3W0kI All sexy as fvck.
CosbehFox Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 Three Polish lads heavily involved on the goals. Love Lewandowski's flick on the third.
CosbehFox Posted 8 November 2010 Posted 8 November 2010 Ronaldo Real Madrid are becoming difficult to dislike under Mourinho. Even Jose changing his style with them slightly.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Dortmund beat Hamburg 2-0 on Friday, looking unstoppable at the minute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jPrgJrFGvs
lildave3 Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Fener lost 2-1 <_< Sitting 4th, 8 points behind top.
ScouseFox Posted 14 November 2010 Posted 14 November 2010 Inter lost 1-0 to AC tonight, their first home defeat in 46 games.
StanSP Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Statto time... 44 - Lionel Messi has scored 44 goals (in 44 La Liga games) since the start of 2009-10, one more than the entire Deportivo team. Clockwork.
Guest Bilo Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Statto time... Impressive stuff that. Really quite hard to say who the best player in the world is right now, Ronaldo in the form of his life and Messi just consistently ridiculous.
Guest Bilo Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I'd rather have Ronaldo in my team than Messi. Messi strikes me as the kind of player who works best on the continent. If he played in this country, he'd just get kicked all over the field by meathead centre-halves and wouldn't be as effective. So while he's arguably more technically gifted than Ronaldo, Ronaldo is probably the more effective player due to the fact that he's built like a brick shithouse.
Father Ted Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 I'd rather have Ronaldo in my team than Messi. On FIFA maybe but not in real life.
Mikey Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 On FIFA maybe but not in real life. No. In real life as well.

Granted arsenal aren't exactly the sort of team to kick people around but there aren't many that would be able to catch him and kick him over here because he's so good with the ball at his feet.

I prefer Messi over Ronaldo, but Bilo et al have a point. Messi isn't as strong physically as Ronaldo and the latter could take a hit now and then. Messi would get torn apart by the likes of Barton, Cattermole and Karl Henry.
Bugg Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Personally I prefer Ronaldo over Messi. Messi is an amazing dribbler and finisher but I just think that Ronaldo has that plus strength and a real presence in the air.
FoxyPV Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 They wouldn't be able to get near him to hack him. Messi's movement is so good and he is deceptively strong and has a low centre of gravity too- not a beast like Ronaldo but still strong.
Guest ttfn Posted 18 November 2010 Posted 18 November 2010 Messi is a mesmerising footballer. But if it came down to who I'd want in my team? Ronaldo every time, partly because I've seen him play more.
MC Prussian Posted 19 November 2010 Posted 19 November 2010 Can you believe it? With the help of some unknown seaside superpowers, minnows Stade Brest are still clinging on to the top spot in Ligue 1. Stade Rennes and/or Marseille could overtake them with one game in hand, though. Meanwhile, AC Arles-Avignon (with that particular Breton amongst their ranks) continue to linger in last place - worst league record for total points in Europe thus far?
