Thought Cliftonville had a left wing reputation.

Does seem to be a shocking standard to be fair. Wouldn't mind a pre-season tour over there though.

Or swap divisions for 5 or so games.

I would love us to do a pre season over here.

There's more a nationalist ethos around the club with the notions of socialism that pervade Northern Irish nationalism/ republicanism.

Always wary of the Sinners though as the terms 'nationalist' and 'socialist' don't have a good history when they go together. lol

Generally over here who you support depends on your background (I can only really speak for Belfast but can't see it being much different anywhere else).

Sankt Pauli 1 up away at Hannover :scarf: :scarf:

Live on ESPN if you have it or here http://goalshd.com/ if you don't, or if you like German commentary

Ended up winning 1-0, could and probably should have been more though in all fairness. Up into 6th in the Bundesliga now as well, until tomorrow anyway. 9 of their 10 points have been picked up away from home. Bizarre!

Yeah i just looked at the table andthey havn't won a home game yet!

some pyro as the players came out for the second half from their end as well!

On the ESPN feed I had, it looked like there was a fire in the stand! Tremendous pyro activity! I noticed that it wasn't exactly described as hooliganism or a major threat to everybody's life by the ESPN commentators as well..

And no mention on the Bundesliga homepage, either.

Tell you what, I'm starting to believe they just don't care.

Unlike a certain English FA...

FSV Mainz have now gone on par with Gayern and Kaiserslautern for consecutive victories at the beginning of a season in the Bundesliga.

7th win in a row after beating Hoffenheim 4-2 at home.

Cracking achievement. Keep it up, you Fasnachtsverein! appl.gif

Was going to post this myself, that is an absolutely outstanding achievement to be fair. They'll be seven points minimum clear of 3rd place tomorrow regardless of what happens. Superb form, I'll be hoping they win again next time out, especially seeing as they're hosting Hamburg!

Oh, and my heart bleeds for Schalke, I feel so, so sorry for them. Devastated that they could be bottom of the league again tomorrow night.. lol lol lol

Koln 1 Dortmund 2

Watched the second half. Very end to end. Podolski equalised with 7 left, Nuri Sahin bagged a scuffed last-minute winner. This was just after those pair had a set to. Sahin's celebration was directly in front of Podolski. The celebrations after the goal and on the final whistle was bonkers. As was Borussia's goalie running away with the ball! Brilliant game.

Hamburg at home for Mainz to break the record.

Sounds pretty epic!

Will be willing Mainz on tomorrow, not just because they're the suprise package, but also because a) they're playing Hamburg  and b) I've been advised by our resident German member of Her Majesty's Royal Navy to bet heavily against Mainz winning tomorrow!

Elsewhere, St Pauli (still without a win at home in the league this season) host Nurnberg, so hopefully a chance of 3 much needed points there to exorcise the demons of home, and in the game between this season's suprise strugglers, I'll be rooting for Stuttgart to hopefully bag a win, but a draw at the very least, away at Scheiß Null Vier.

German football overview:

St Pauli FINALLY got a home win this season, but they had to work fvcking hard for it, being pegged back twice before eventually running out 3-2 winners over Nurnberg.

Mainz failed in their bid make it 8 straight wins, going down 1-0 at home to Hamburg ( ) with an 89th minute Guerrero (sp?) goal enough to seal the points. :(

Elsewhere, Bayern recorded a pretty emphatic 3-0 home win by battering Hannover 3-0, Mario Gomez bagging a nifty 'trick. Enough to kickstart their season? Perhaps.

Schalke are also out of the automatic relegation places after recording a 2-2 draw at home with now bottom Stuttgart thanks to a late penalty. Annoying.

Bundesliga's late kickoff was a pretty exciting game as well, Wolfsburg going 2-0 up at home to Leverkusen, before conceding 3 goals in the last 20 minutes of the game to come away with nothing.

And in the 2 Bundesliga, Bochum thankfully recorded a win, beating Karlsruhe 2-0 away, though it could and should have been more. Karlsruhe's goalkeeper had an absolute blinder and made some superb saves.

EDIT: Barca have come from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 at home against Valencia, 2 pretty well worked goals as well allowing Iniesta and Puyol to score.
