Unabomber Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Oakley, King, Howard and N'guessan really were shocking today. There was literally no creativity and all Oakley did was pass the ball back to Hobbs, and then on to Moreno followed by a hopeful punt up to Howard (which he missed every time). It wasn't the defeat that has annoyed me, but the manner of it. We didn't look like attacking after the two misses from DJ and Dany we just seemed to give up and it wasn't nice to witness especially paying and travelling all the way up there.
Legend_in_blue Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Until N'Guessan and Oakley are out of this team we will continue to be inconsistent at best. N'Guessan isn't Championship material and Oakley is past it. Perhaps some of this cash could bring in some half decent players to fill these positions. I've said it before, I'll say it again, it's been 3 seasons at least since we had a decent right sided attacking midfield player. We need one urgently and some class in the middle.

Bugg Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Weale went off far to easy, as soon as he picks up a knock he goes off. It didn't look bad. How do you know how bad the injury was? He was doing the best for the team by going off because having an injured shoulder is obviously going to effect the risks he'll make to dive to the ball. And even if it didn't look bad, doesn't mean that it isn't bad; but then again, we all know you dislike Weale so I'm not surprised you're whining about him being injured.
Unabomber Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Weale went off far to easy, as soon as he picks up a knock he goes off. It didn't look bad. What an idiotic thing to say. Do you remember QPR away last season when he played on with that head injury? How on earth do you know the extent of his pain/discomfort?
MPH Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 We would of won 5-0 if Heskey had played at CB. He could of stopped every one of their goals as well as scoring a hat-trick from set peices. Plus his sheer presence at corners would of panicked them into scoring at least 2 own goals....
Zingari Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 pffft , Bert Trautman played on in goal with a broken neck ,

Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Didn't go to this match and I'm glad I didn't.
MPH Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Didn't go to this match and I'm glad I didn't. That's exactly what walkers just in another thread!
lildave3 Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 We were shit. Steve was manhandled by Bikey. Bikey is a monster. That is all.
Fox Genius Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 So were we as **** as it appears then? If it appears that the performacne was utterly abject, the yes. There was a 3 to 5 minute period at the start of the match and a 3 to 5 minute period at the start of the 2nd peirod which we looked in it. Apart from that, we were never at the races today and didn;t really give Burnley a game, althouugh some credit has to go to burnley for closing us down, and stopping the on teh deck footy that Paulo seems to want. Highlights / lowlights for me were: 1 Neilson in splendid issolation everytime he had the ball in space. He was the one leicester player that consistently had some space to work with but had no support from midfield or DJ 2 Leicesters inability to deal with the diagonal ball 3 Moreno's ball onto teh back back of Wellens 4 Danny G's willingness to recieve the ball, but inept decision making with it 5 Over hit corners 6 A lack of wing play 7 Richie being the only player who distintly showed some grit and determiniation 8 Sub plaers playing well but teh team performance getting worse 9 Severe lack of interplay between forwards 10 Why have crinic on teh bench then not use him 11 Mousa looking like he should have played form the start, well done lad
Unabomber Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 12. Drunken lunatic invades the pitch grabs the corner flag and waves it at Brian Jenson.
Joe. Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 We didn't deserve anything today, but we were very unlucky at times. The first goal did it really, in a game which at the time was very finely balanced. Defences were both well on top, Hobbs and Moreno looking solid for the majority, with Bikey at the other end showing everybody how it's done. Very impressive he was. The differences ultimately came in midfield. King was anonymous, Oakley couldn't get on the ball and N'Guessan was truly woeful. Wellens was our best performer with a gritty display, and Neilson did little wrong whilst he was on the pitch. Wade Elliott and Ross Wallace ran the show for Burnley in the middle, and they got their rewards. We simply couldn't handle Iwelumo, and it's no surprise he ended up with a goal. He's a handy player to have in this division. Oh, and some of our fans are a joke. I quote: "Fuck of Sousa you foreign cunt". I believe I heard "greasy Portuguese twat" in there somewhere as well. Smooth.

Bugg Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 12. Drunken lunatic invades the pitch grabs the corner flag and waves it at Brian Jenson. What a cunt he was. Don't know why people stood up and cheered him, I felt embarrassed.
Unabomber Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 What a cunt he was. Don't know why people stood up and cheered him, I felt embarrassed. I thought it was embarrassing especially when he was flicking the v's at the players.
Thracian Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Well here we are bottom of the league, eight points off the pace and Soussa suggests to me that he could do with the laser eye surgery my youngest son underwent yesterday because if he believes we lost "because we missed our chances" and that we "really should have won" he's not seeing clearly. Yes we had a couiple of early chances, one of which DJ should surely have taken. But Burnley scored three, had another header disallowed and had far more genuine chances than us at other times. No this wasn't the worst I've seen us play, nor even the worst I've seen us play at Burnley but it was certainly bad, in fact verging on a disgrace and as DavieG pointed out 35 minutes before kick off the body language of the players never did look right, not even in the pre-match warm-up. The passing game of last week had disappeared completely. In fact it was seriously difficult to remember us putting three passes together in any serious situation other than a couple of moves, one at the begging and another at the end when Kingy linked with DJ. That 90th minute move by King was the first good thing I can recall him contrinuting all game. Strangely for our best and most consistent passer, he couldn't deliver a pass accurately even across five yards today. Others were llittle better and DJ - who disappointed but still made a good many excellent runs that might have put him in behind a suspect defence, just looked disgusted at times at the lack of a final delivery and another burst of wasted energy. The bloke's ability was totally wasted. Of our starting players only Weale, subsequently withdrawn through injury. Wellens for his teneacity, Hobbs for at average contribution and DJ for the potential of his intelligent runs lifted themselves even marginally above mediocre and our first requirement now is to escape the relegation zone cos we'll stay in it all season if we continue performing like this. To be a Revie-like Leeds we need a team full of passers not a team full of individuals going their own way and not very competently. But first you have to compete with enough attitude to win the ball and we didn't - Wellens excepted. To confirm my view of last week that we are short of the required fitnbess levels, we were second to so many loose balls and were often muscled off others. And if our passing game isonly going to last until, the opposition presses us then it won't last long, as was the case today, because Burnley closed us down with far more urgency than our players showed. Burnley also had players moving off the ball into space and noticeable urgency in getting forward when our (occasional) attacks broke down. Our attitudes were summed up by N'Guessan who made King look even worse that he actually was by failing so many times to move forward quickly and offer himself for a pass. . Perhaps that was as well on reflection cos his crosses were thoughtless and inaccurate, more a threat to the opposite corner flag than their goal and as forour corners ... I really wonder if we do any serious preparation because the delivery by Oakley and Wellens was awful. There was no imagination or variety either and attacking free-kicks were no better. Pluses? Tactically and technically none. Team spirit too was woeful. But two of the substitutes, right back Michael Lamey with his pace, determination and considerable skill, plus Oakley's replacement Soussa for at least wanting the ball and showing the ability to pass 10 yards without misdirecting it or getting it caught up in his feet did offer a glimmer of hope for better things. But they were very short straws... Overall it was lamentable and a shameful representation of our club.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Absolute rubbish. (That's about all I can say) By the way, Anyone sit on Row FF in block 18? If you were wearing a leather jacket, you stood next to me, and your pie smelt and looked beaut. Decent lad aswell. Anyone off here??
Tommeh Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Andre Bikey is an absolute demon we were getting nowhere past that daddy. Wellens played well, nobody else did. Hopefully this week we'll snap up Buzz Lightyear on a 2 year contract and everything will be wonderful again.
