chesterfox Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I managed to wring £8m out of Chelsea of FM for him ! Radio Wales decribed his ' Lampardesque arrival in the box to put the ball away'. Iwan Roberts was desperate to cheer for us but then remembered who was paying his fee..classic. Iwan is a Welshman.....
Lillehamring Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Wonder if he'll ever dare re-introduce his dodgy signings to the side. 2 great performances, and all outfield starters were in Peason's team and yet doing to cardiff what they did to us in the playoffs, funny that. as 'dodgy' as his signings may allegedly be, he's obviously done something to change us from battling hoofers to having 23 shots in 90 minutes - that's a shot every 4 minutes. ...and what are the odds on some disabled starting a thread moaning about how we should have sign vaughan
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Cardiff took the lead when Jason Koumas freed Lee Naylor wide on the left' date=' the full-back's wonder strike catching Foxes keeper Carl Ikeme off his line[/quote']Fuck off. Blatant cross.
The Padster Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 perhaps now we can have an end to this sousa-out-relegation-form madness Dunno bout that, can't wait to read the comments section in the Mercury tomorrow! Some nob is still gonna moan about our league position/ lack of prowess.
Zingari Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Portugeese wine can be opened! go on then , open that bottle of mateus rose
STUHILL Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Credit to Sousa for tonight. I love the way we are playing and our attack minded mentality. A win against QPR on Saturday looks possible now and what a statement if we do beat them! Thought Sousa got it spot on with squad tonight, even dropping Fryatt, which suggests, one poor performance, and you get yanked boyo! Surprised how strong our bench looked too!! It's a good night to be a Leicester fan, but we have to carry this on, and playing at this level week in week out will be a huge test!!
Matt Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Can't say it was better because it wasn't bad before fact is today we got more goals than Cardiff to win the game, a good performance and thank-god we've finally got our first win of the season. However we could and should have won by more tonight don't worry I'm not moaning I'm happy and satisfied with the two winning goals just a worry that our goal drought problems are not over, still need to be looked at and sorted out. Well done City, let's just hope our season started tonight and we can carry it on.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I'd love for someone to tell me why Steve Howard's worth ninety minutes and Gallagher isn't, mind. Absolutely nothing we did today was his physique or anything unique to him a vital part of. I will happily argue with any of the mouth-breathing "Steve" fans who seems to have some deluded, retarded view that he's somehow some gift to the club that provides some vital, unseen quality. That's not to say he had a terrible game, I don't think anyone out there was poor but he offers very little in this system. His lack of dynamism was shockingly apparent at times. Yes, we have Andy King pushing on from midfield but that doesn't mean Howard can be forgiven for constantly lacking the pace or the fitness to keep up with play. Ball after ball came in and it was King, not Howard, who was anywhere near it. If we're going to play this kind of attacking football then Steve Howard's going to be a passenger more than an asset. Keep him for impact when we need a bit of strength.
Madrid_Fox Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Great night tonight lads. Cracking performance. Time to celebrate. Lets make sure we get points off QPR on Saturday though!
1964FOX Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Stuck in traffic on way home but don't care their goal was a Cross and King was amazing, great chant of we've got the best Welshman in the league...... Andy King we were by far the best team and Cardiff new it, looked like they gave in to the enevitable early in the second half. Viva Leicester
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I thought it was a cracking performance, very dynamic and entertaining. Good atmosphere in the stadium as well. Everyone put in a good performance - Neilson looks like a different player, and the team functioned pretty well in every department. I wish Dyer could be a little more clinical when presented with opportunities he creates, but he was a great outlet on the few occasions Cardiff tried to exert any pressure. Abe looks tidy enough but not on the pitch long enough to make much impression. Cannot wait to see Andy King's goals again, those aside I think his all round game is coming on massively too - his movement was ace. Howard held ball up well as usual but pace of the game meant it passed him by a bit. I did enjoy the Fosse Boys' new dance, that one that goes from side to side. Enchanting
EnglishOxide Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Fosse Boys standing all match. Wonder what will happen at QPR.
Corky Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 The stats on the BBC are very impressive. Would be nice if we could turn more of those chances in on a regular basis, but still, to have that many attempts against an in-form side when you're struggling is a credit to the team and manager.
BrummieFOX Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I'd love for someone to tell me why Steve Howard's worth ninety minutes and Gallagher isn't, mind. Keep him for impact when we need a bit of strength. Not a huge Howard fan but won absolutely everything 2nd half. The fact he was winning headers and our attacking players were in and around him in the 2nd half was the big difference. The ball was sticking up top, we were slightly more direct and there wasn't as much need for Hobbs and Morrison to pass it between themselves for so long until and outlet appeared. I thought he was integral 2nd half. Oakley put in a strong performance as well. Some cracking tackles!!
Corky Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Looks like we had the biggest crowd of the evening as well. Good effort by the fans.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Saying he "won everything" is irrelevant if there's no actual product. How frequently were Howard's "flick ons" trailing off away from Dyer or whoever was running on? I counted maybe twice he actually found a City player. And the ball frequently wasn't sticking, that's the point. He lacks the energy and the pace these days to cover the ground he's being asked to when the ball's put up there. Please don't think I'm some anti-Howard zealot, I'm not. He was absolutely vital when we beat them in Cardiff in the play-off second game. He destroyed them. He was a key part of Pearson's system and he was integral to our promotion and our subsequent push up the Championship last year. But, as Bellend put it, the game is starting to pass him by now that we're trying to up the tempo. It's just pointless, we're attacking with a man short so much of the time. I don't want to see him just shipped out - he still has a role to play and there are times when even Sousa will want to grind out a few gnarlier points. But the sooner we can get Fryatt switched on, fit and willing to play again up top in that central role then the better. That or just give bloody Gallagher a kick up the backside and let him have a run in the side. He, too, is excellent at retaining the ball. He has fantastic touch and nearly always finds a Leicester player - he's got fairly underrated strength, too.
FrankieADZ Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Well its the first match the old man has moan like a cow with a hand up its butt at....So we had to have player well All told tho, i thought that we where slow to start in a way, but when we did we played excellent, Had to say the goals where different class. Oakley in the role he played tonight was brilliant, some really tought tackles which i have to admit i've missed.....so i guess Oakley is playing the Enforcer role then Overall tho, thought it was a great match, even made to get out the car park quick too, so win win all round
Ozwin Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 ****ing quality, I love me a comeback. We were all over them tbf, I'd love to see the posession stats because I can barely remember a chance they had apart from the fluke and that was hardly a chance really, just lucky. Nielson was quality, Oakley was quality, Dyer was immense and King, just...well, I want his babies.
colbo68 Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Great 2-1 win. Sounded like a top match. King... What can i say. Stats... POSSESSION (%) L-53 C-47 SHOTS ON TARGET L-10 C-4 SHOTS OFF TARGET L-13 C-3 CORNERS L-5 C-4 FOULS L-11 C-11 DYER MOST FOULS NAYLOR L-2 C-3 :scarf: Hopefully a start of something. Lloyd Dyer HAS to see more of the ball - he was quick all night and put them on the back foot time and time again - great performance from the skinny fella
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Actually you make a fair point there, colbo. Amidst all the talk about Sousa and squad fitness it's worth pointing out that while Lloyd Dyer frequently used to have a habit of looking knackered after seventy five minutes; he was still sprinting down the touch line tonight right up to the end of the game.
Ashley Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 We was all over to Cardiff today, was a great performance. How didn't Lloyd Dyer not score with the fifa moment? Watch the run start now!
1964FOX Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I thought it was a cracking performance, very dynamic and entertaining. Good atmosphere in the stadium as well. I did enjoy the Fosse Boys' new dance, that one that goes from side to side. Enchanting He scores them with his left foot(shuffle to left) he scores them with his right (shufle to right) don't know how it started it just happened, was a laugh and seemed right Viva Leicester
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Not a dig at the Fosse Boys at all - but it was nice that I couldn't hear them at all today. Not because I don't want to, not at all, but because it was a reflection of how much noise the Kop (who were between they and I) were actually making, to be fair. Second half especially was an excellent atmosphere in the ground.

He holds the ball up extremely well and I can only remember one pass towards the end of the match which went to a yellow shirt, who else is going to do that for us?
AmericanScott Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 First half we weren't good enough. Cardiff goal was a fluke. Second half was such an improvement. Dare i say, Oakley had a great game. Made some nice tackles might i add. We shut them down. Abe looked up for it and i think he needs a bit of time to settle into this league. I love Andy King with all my heart I hope we can build upon this win and gain some momentum. First time i got to see the Fosse Boys in action, you guys were terrific tonight. I saw a bunch of meatheads joining you during the first half.
