Edmund Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Unbelieveable how we have crumbled since last year. Always believe in giving managers a decent crack at it, but we just aren't getting enough points despite some decent performances. Time for the board to start thinking about replacements if it's not turned around in the next couple of weeks because something needs to change, too many performances like this and we're in trouble. Gutted. You know we're playing badly when even Babylon is questioning the management. To be honest although the performance has been shite you can't blame Sousa as he couldn't have stopped the handball or the refs disgraceful decision. Saying that we seem to have no tactical ideas and are either lumping to Howard to no avail or passing it to the opposition.
Libertine Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 stonewall red card? you must be clueless. The referee is always right to Dannyboy. Quite sad really, but I guess it says more about the team at the minute.
sw_fox Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 On the positive- Dyer and King linking up in the final third well :-)
Karljohn Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Has anyone drawn up a shortlist of candidates to replace mr.sousa? Any of the 23 managers that will be above us by 10pm tonight?
Dylan Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 This is embarassing. Losing to bottom of the table Portsmouth, probably handing their 1st league victory of the season. One Centre-Back: stupidly gives away penalty for 1st goal. Other Centre-Back: gives away free-kick for 2nd goal, and reduces us to 10 men. Whilst our best centre-back Jack Hobbs is dropped to the bench, and wouldn't of made any of them mistakes in my opinion. Thank you Paulo Sousa. Also would've taken off Oakley for Hobbs, instead of Abe. 2-0 down, need some creativity to get back in game. Would've taken a chance with the younger and more energetic Abe- looks like he's got more flair to him aswell. And why do we never have the luck, and a decent ref. King's goal should've stood, but has a goal wrongly disallowed for 3rd time this season. Vitor- never ever a sending off, 2 other defenders around him- how can it possible be a CLEAR goalscoring opportunity. Still poor defending though. Can't see us getting back into this unfortunately. If nothing happens for us after 15 minutes, got to bring on Fryatt and Gallagher and go for it. I'd have been disappointed with a point at the start of the game. Always saw this happening though, winning in cup, then losing in league when it matters.
eastendfox Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 We've been garbage, and if the officials haven't helped it matters little. Wtf pds is playing at with his team selection and tactics I have no idea.
Jackirius Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 You cannot blame luck tonight... blatent handball by Morrison for me he should have seen red for it. Vitor should have dealt with the ball before getting on a tangle with Nugent and anything can happen from a free kick at that range. We are just totally inept, clueless and lacking spirit. Sousa cannot think he just needed to field 11 men (any 11 would do!) to win. They are a good side with good players just lacking a win, they will climb the table quicker than us based on tonights performance. You cannot even get excited about the second half at least NP would have sent them out fighting, not sure that Sousa is capable of delivering a convincing team talk! Sousa's biggest mistake tonight is the CB pairing, if he wanted to play Vitor he should have partnered him with Hobbs (the best and most experienced CB we have) cannot understand that decision at all. Am not calling for his head yet but will be after another 2 games and their is no improvement... I am so pissed off at the minute... normally a defeat spoils Sat night and Sunday, but this weekend will be depressing!!! Here ye, i dont have much faith in Sousa sending them out fighting but they need to do that themselves and WANT to be up for it.
Leicester_Mad Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 What has Sousa done to the dressing room? We were a unit 6months ago, not the best football team but the strength mentally won us many games. That has gone.
Wymsey Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 is there still talk of having an extraordinary meeting with mandaric and co? i heard about this quite a lot whether its going to happen. WE NEED IT!!
Guest ttfn Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Well 3 games ago was far too early to be making any calls on our season. Yes so much changes in THREE games. Fact is, everybody's drawing the same conclusions, it just took some longer than others. I'm not belittling others' optimism, but neither should people be castigated for asserting the way that the season was clearly headed after 5 games. We're shit and we know we are
buzzy Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 was never going to be easy tonight after beating them the other day.. so many people had already guess we would probally lose tonight in the typical leicester fashion... plus in front of the cameras. we may be playing shit tonight but it was 2 rushes of blood by the 2 players led to there 2 goals.. shit decision by the ref in the red card. goal disalowed that should of stood... cant believe how quick everyone is calling for his head again.. no one mentioned it after the cup game... if you think sacking him now and getting in a new manager, with his own syle of play with his own players is going to help more than giving him time to set the team up then your mad.. more disruptions that would be.. and whose going to take over?? some hoof style manager again.. i have backed him from the start when people were slagging him off but know i have had enough of excuses, what you said at the start of your blog is crap. we are a poor teasm who plays some nice football but dropping hobbs is a bad move no wellens i just don't fooking know how many more things like this can go on
lildave3 Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Danny Boy has a point, my facebook is full of shit like 'bloody ref' and 'robbed' and it's bollocks. King WAS offside, Vitor SHOULD have been sent off and he's dont nothing wrong. Although Morrison never handballed it
Molson Canadian Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 the way we are playing we wouldn't even survive in the MLS, to be honest watching this, the standard of football we are playing at the moment is equivalent to the bottom teams in MLS
Finnegan Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 I just don't actually understand how the team can perfectly adopt Sousa's football one week and utterly humiliate a good side like Cardiff and then completely fail to come to grips with it the next.
wurmer Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 I wonder if the Thai's are hoping the takeover doesn't get ratified by the League....
LukeyZade Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 im the biggest moaner on this site :-p wow what pizzpoor performance, our players are crap for sousa style i think. cool it between yourselfs lads! he will be on his way out i reckon? crap 11 starting lineup though, i wouldnt give oakly armband either what a stonehead
Babylon Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 But when people were saying this 3 games ago they were ******. We've played well once in 8 games Saying it after a couple of games is bloody idiotic, there is no way you can know for sure how it's going to go after 3 games, anyone calling for his head then is as stupid as someone who's not worried about what's happening now. We have played well in more than one game, Coventry, middlesborough, Reading second half, palace second half and the cup games. He still has a few games left before it's chopping time, the board need to be thinking ahead.
Cropwellfox Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 Fu*king disgrace... But I don't see why everyone pins the blame on Sousa, yes he didn't start with Hobbs and there might have been a valid reason for that. But it was a freak accident for the penalty and a stupid tackle for the free kick, he cannot cut these mistakes out, they are the players faults. Yes we haven't had much possession and haven't played particularly well but why put 100% of the blame on Sousa when the players especially defence are looking lazy and not even doing the basics right, they are professional footballers playing in the second top tier in England for gods sake, Sousa cannot make people into superstars overnight. We have no service to the strikers from midfield and we have a very good strike force, but i agree if we cant rely on the defence and build a strong base then we will be facing a relegation battle this season. There is not much coming down the wings with Bruno and Robbie but down the centre we lack 2 quality CB's. Hobbs was great last season but has lost it and no matter how much you suck his dick you cant deny that. We need too go back to 4-4-2 with Waghorn and Fryatt upfront and Dyer, Abe, Wellens and Gallagher in midfield with Burner, Nielson and two new CB's. Sousa can't be directly blamed for players ****ing up - but it is happening a hell of a lot more to the same players than when NP was in charge - says something to me about the mindset of the players. And he has had plenty of opportunity to sign players who could play in some of the clear problem positions we've got. He's been in charge of 2 other championship teams so should know the quality required, and hasn't sorted out RW, RB or got a good enough CB in to replace Brown.
Molson Canadian Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 is it just me or are the pompey fans a ugly bunch of people? maybe we can sneak on an extra player before the kickoff the ref might not notice

broughtonblue Posted 24 September 2010 Posted 24 September 2010 love this stella helps im a glass half full sort of person, ah must top it up quick. c'mon you blues
