Lost the dressing room

Recommended Posts

Where to begin?

The under-10s level of defending from players who were previously the bedrock of the team?

The feeble protection those defenders were given by our anonymous captain and his equally ineffective Welsh sidekick?

The collapse in form from our two top scorers from last season?

The stream of transfer requests that came after the Reading game?

I think they may be fairly sizeable clues..

Well theres something... Whats this then? Al the others don't indicate loss of the dressing room.

.

which still have yet not been proved..

i think the loss of the dressing room is just more rumours made from previous rumours like the transfer request...

Is there a prize for the person who starts the most dumb**** pointless threads in one night?

It's something we like to do on nights like tonight, it take our minds off our suffering!

which still have yet not been proved..

Except by the manager himself, who confirmed them to the media..

How could he not have lost the dressing room? The majority of this squad have been used to success over the last 2 years and a strong work ethic. They have now lost all self belief and confidence and have just been destroyed by a team that hadn't won a league game this season before tonight.

I'm sure the players will be questioning the management and no doubt many of them have lost faith with this clown in charge.

I know the players shouldn't have the power but with this guy in charge they're not going to perform. Get rid and bring someone in with some man management skills because this guy has alienated everyone from the looks of things.

Morrison - loads of potential, was really reliable last year, upped his game completely under Pearson, now he's a wreck.

Hobbs - Possibly our best player last year, now you don't know what you're going to get.

Berner - What has happened, Mr Reliable looks like he doesn't care anymore, if Bruno looks disinterested then you know something's up.

Gallagher - The life and soul of the squad last season, now he's not getting a look in.

Fryatt - Clearly isn't happy and this guy was Mr LCFC, if he isn't happy then something is seriously messed up behind the scenes.

King and Dyer are the only ones to really flourish under him, but that's 2 players, you need a team to win games.

...

Sousa out basically.

Cannot believe how players integral to the spine of our team last season could have gone so far backwards.

Morrisons loss of form this season has been as drastic as his rise from the conference.

The squad just isnt as good as people think. Overachieved majorly last season and its showing now.

We may have overachieved, but we're not relegation fodder. We have a solid squad that should be able to compete with every team in this division, but we're looking out of our depth so far this season.

The most successful managers turn modest players into good players through teamwork and effort. Conversely, bad managers turn good players into pub footballers through poor training, tactics and man-management. Paula Sousa falls into the latter.

Exactly. That twinned with a new manager with a complete new playing style and training methods. It could take a long time for a team to adapt to such big changes.

Obviously no one expected such a bad start and we now have a huge mountain to climb to revud confidence and form while still battling with a new system. However getting rid of a manager isn't the way forward. Haven't we learnt from that in the past? We can't afford another 3-4 years finding a manager who clicks instantly.

I hate how people seemed to have it drilled into them that a manager should be given 10 games. Why?! Why is that the right amount of games to give a manager?

I don't think we'll go down with the squad we have. I'd rather Sousa be given the season. We need stability, the same squad and he needs to work out his strongest 11, FAST!!

I am very concerned about Fryatt the most. We need him a hell of a lot. We can't rely on Howard all the while when Sousa keeps playing Waghorn on the damn wing!

Sousa to be give the whole season ur mental!! he'll take all frickin season figuring out his best 11!! we've got more defenders than any other championship side!! theres no stability within our

CB's no wonder hobbs looks lost! We need a manager who sorts his team from the back first and who arent easy to break down! teams r pissing all over us when we lose the ball because of all this counter attacking football , we're leaving gaps bigger than the **** amazon at the back!! Id rather have a manager who plays boring football with a team thats hard to break down than manager making us try to play like frickin Barcelona

1. Sousa should be given a large chunk of the season - chopping and changing is what got us relegated in 07-08, besides he showed last season he could turn things around, being in a remarkable similar position with swansea last season as to where we are now - what happened, they finished within 1 goal of the play-offs.

2. portsmouths 5 defender squad is not the norm for a championship team you know.

we have Morrison, Hobbs, Vitor, Tunchev, Kennedy, Berner, Neilson, Lamey - 4 cbs, 2 lbs, 2 rbs - thats a normal bordering on small defence.

3. We've used 4 players at cb over 11 games, hobbs has played 11 of those and had 4 with moreno and 6 with morrison, he's only changed the partnering cb twice (from morrison to moreno - then 4 games later from moreno to morrison).

in my view I think he has, after a defeat like that; I'd say he's lost at least 40% of the dressing room, if we don't get something in our next 2 games i can see even more of the players losing the faith with Mr.Sousa

The team lacks confidence and commitment, players who regularly put in decent performances under NFP are struggling.

Several players, I'm thinking Morrison, Hobbs, Neilson and King appear to be playing to instructions that go against their 'natural' instincts, so instead of just playing their normal game they are having to stop and think about how the manager has instructed them to play, with the result that the opposition just blows right by them.

The question for me is whether the players believe in what Sousa is doing...

If they do, then this period of 'adjustment' will sort itself out as they get used to the new style,

Or, they do not, in which case they will resist the changes, individual and team form will continue to suffer and confidence in the manager and themselves will be in terminal decline.

After last night the attitude and body language of the players suggest the latter option, if so then we need to replace Sousa now, but who would come to us in our current plight?

Is Tony Mobray desperate enough to take the job, if he is he looks the best (realistic) option out there at the moment...:dunno:
