J.Lisemore Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Mid table. I'm not expecting a lot this season.
sdb Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 we all know Sven likes Fox, so hopefully this goes well
Guest DavidJCW Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Well the only answer anyone should be voting for is 'Don't Know'... We don't know how the players will react to Sven's appointment. We don't know how they will play under his tactics. We don't know how he'll chop and change the team and whether it'll work. We don't know if the new coaches are going to get the team playing. The list goes on...
phillthefox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I voted yes as i think they will do but this season will be a big ask !!!!! KEEP THE FAITH !!!!!
purpleronnie Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 STOP SAYING KEEP THE FAITH FFS. I can't help but think it will end in tears I'd be amazed if he fulfills his contract.
cambridgefox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 So many ifs and buts, but correct me if im wrong ,but didnt we go through a dodgy patch last march/April,collecting about 10pts in 8 or 9 matches. We made the play offs.I think the way the players played and reacted with there body language with Sousa, any new appointment would have been a morale booster.Svens appointment puts it to another level. The players will be wanting to impress, not only for Sven, but if we are given a large transfer kitty,to keep there place at Leicester.
Guest bennytwohats Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Glad to see nobody is already getting carried away with the expectations....
MikeyT Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 I'd be happy if we reach the play offs based on how we have started the season. Also depends what players we buy or bring in on loan and how well they gel together. We still have 30+ games this season so it's more than realistic to reach the play offs. Only time will tell. Also depends on what other teams do as well of course.
Bettsj2 Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 The play offs are certainly not out of the question and I cant see QPR or Cardiff maintaining their form all season so I wouldnt count anything out. I dont want to get too carried away but at all the jobs that Sven has had (with the exception of Mexico), all the players he has ever worked with have bought into his ideals and training methods and have been succesful. I really think we'll finish there or therabouts. In January we will see a better quality of player coming through the door and then we can really mount a challenge. I can understand the sceptacism surrounding Sven to an extent but some of the arguments against him just dont have any basis at all.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 With no games played under Sven, surely it has to be, don't know.
Zingari Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 With no games played under Sven, surely it has to be, don't know. Ignorance of the facts and the situation is no excuse for not having an opinion No wonbder this country is going to the dogs , it's all, "be careful now", and "watch what you say" , blah blah blah

People are entitled to their own opinion and a bit of optimism. Just cause you're all miserable buggers it doesn't need to rub off on us.

talkfoxes.com Posted 5 October 2010 Author Posted 5 October 2010 I question the teams fitness for this season
act smiley Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 With the whole clutching defeat from the jaws of victory style - we'll reach the playoffs, Sven will get sacked for not getting us promoted and we'll end up with someone utterly dreadful and go down next season.

Fookin Nora! Considering your username, that's pretty depressing
MC Prussian Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 There's always hope - but for now, I just don't know.
Guest ttfn Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I think we need only look at QPR to see that these things don't necessarily happen overnight.
surrifox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I assume the question means this season.well since this is a forum for football fans to voice views on what might, should or will happen it is surely ok to express an opinion without the certainty that it will be correct by the end of the season. If we put together a run like Reading managed last season (with what was really a pretty lacklustre collection of journeyman players) then we would still need the front runners to stumble badly to allow us to make up ground on the 2 top spots for automatic promotion- cardiff may help the process by going into administration of course- this would leave the play offs where we the current incumbents- the likes of Ipswich, Norwich , Watford are all pretty poor and can all be overtaken. What is required for progress via the playoffs is to hit form and momentum at the right time - so if we stay in touch and then launch a strong run starting in the new year who knows.
AaronH Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Look at reading last year, shit start and pushed hard in the playoff race, the advantage we have is time. Also sunderland
ajthefox Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 I think we'll be pretty steady under Sven and manage top half of the table, which I tihnk would be quite acceptable really. Then hopefully, a massive promotion push next season.
maddog Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Theres 59 very deluded people if they think we're going up this season Mid table is my guess.
maddog Posted 6 October 2010 Posted 6 October 2010 Met Sven the other day and I can honestly say he's one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I joked I was a fan when we played athletico and red star and he laughed n sed mayb in a few years. Wished him good luck, shook his hand and he sed we will need it seriously if u c him out and about just approach him 4 a chat he's so friendly n won't mind. Perhaps 2 friendly cnt imagine him giving angry teamtalks when were playing shit. Great bloke.
