Nigel Pearson

I'll always have huge respect for him, and I'll clap him, welcome him back next week, but when 3pm comes it all ends for 90 minutes, and I hope many other fans join me - None of the nonesense similar to when Hume came back that was cringeworthy.

And Pearson did more for us than Hume.

Fvcking hell the cringeworthy bollocks reception that Hume gets from our fans really does sicken me, especially the one away at Barnsley last season when he was instrumental in helping them to beat us.

Pearson should be warmly greeted before the Hull game, but not to the detriment of Svennis and the boys.

I f I were there, which I wont be, I'd give Pearson a warm welcome. He steered this club back in the right direction and if Mandaric weren't such a twat then Nigel would have us competing for automatic promotion to the Prem.

I really dont care why he left the club, how he left the club or who it was down to.

He aint here anymore, so I wont be clapping him, chanting his name, booing Sousa or any of that crap.

I'm there for the game to cheer on OUR team and OUR manager.

Pearson did a good job in the two years he was here, but so what? Why does that mean he deserves any kind of reception?

The problem with our club is the fans tend to hold on to the past too much instead of looking to the future (which is looking pretty fooking good).

Would you clap O'Neill?

Would you clap O'Neill?

Actually it's down to O'Neill that I feel this way.

Not anything that he's done particularly, just the way that our fans absolutely go overboard about what he means to the club and in a way, he's held us back ever since.

O'Neill was a one off. A true character of the game that hasn't been replicated since and probably wont be again. Every manager we've had since has been compared to him and always fell short (obviously).

Joe Kinnear once said when in charge of Nottingham Forest, 'It's fooking impossible to manage this football club. You cant even fart in the corridor without someone mentioning Cloughie'.

It's starting to get a bit like that here. When Sven was appointed, all people could talk about was O'Neill, despite the fact that Sven is one of the most highly regarded coaches in WORLD football.

So in answer to your question, no, I wouldnt clap him. I'll always be grateful for the memories but when i've paid hard earned money to go to the Walkers to see my beloved team, the last thing I am going to do is applaud any factor of the opposition.

Of course he will get a round of applause when he appears from the dugout, but that's it.

As has been mentioned before players (Like Hume) make it easier for them to be continually cheered throughout the game, if they come near to the crowd at a dead ball, touching the ball, name read out etc.

On Saturday that will be different, his name wont be read out, and he wont be seen. He will probably, as usual, spend the game by the touchline, which is where the love-in may begin.

If we applaud him great, if Birch welcomes Sven onto the pitch that might be our opportunity to start focusing on him and the team then, nothing else. Any Pearson chants from us during the game would be silly and counteractive to a new era which has begun at the club.

Couldn't give a flying foxes!

Pearson is now the HULL manager and they will be the opposition on Saturday.

Pearson is last season old era.

Move on I will not be clapping him.

I will be cheering on the boys in Blue and welcoming our new manager Sven, and this is what we should all be doing.

What will Sven think if the kop starts singing Pearsons name? Let alone the team, of Leicester.

The above is unthinkable and quite frankly pathetic!

He should get boo'd within an inch of his life for resigning and walking out. That's right he walked out left you all for a fatter uglier bird in Humderside.

But if you want to sell yourself out and clap him for it after his act of major bottling in the play-offs then shame on each and everyone of you. If a man models his look on action man he can't be trusted, and by walking out and bottling it he's demostrated that.

Oi, that's a fatter, uglier bird in East Yorkshire if you don't mind. There's no such place as Humberside numbnuts.

I don't do applause for returning players or managers until they've retired and are no longer a threat.

You'll have to forgive me for not believing some nonentities in cyberspace, over the words straight from Pearson's mouth. What were they again :dunno:"I resigned".

This actually proved my point you listen to one sentence out of a whole bunch.

Now, in that interview he also explained WHY he resigined.... what FORCED him to resign.....

I really want to go on Saturday (but I can't afford it and the new ticket prices are stupid in a recession (yes - I know we're not in one, except we are)) simply to applaud NP. Well, and to support City of course, but the NP return was added impetus and maybe if I hadn't had to have expensive repairs to the car last week I would be there. Hopefully there will be a large turn out to give him the return he deserves.

And then we stuff them 4-0!

I'll applaud him. he deserves some appreciation for what he did.

I don't think we'll hear may boo's from people with an IQ over 25

So, a massive chorus of booing then.

I would not clap or cheer for Pearson, for the simple reason I have still not read or heard anything from him about me, us, the fans. When he left there was no thanks to the fans, he swept us under the carpet, and in his recent interview there was again no mention. There are more important people at this club than MM and Hoos and they're the 20-30 thousand that go every week, pay through the nose to watch the club they love. A bit of love back is not too much to ask for.

If he comes out to acknowledge us before the game, or more likely after the game, I would gladly clap him because he did a great thing for the club, but I believe he did it for himself and not for us and he has so far done nothing to make me think otherwise.
