Onions Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Would move us up to 19th I think. 18th. We would go up one place with the -5 taken off from the defeat, and then up another as Portsmouth wouldn't be there.
NGoloMode Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Really sad news. Never want to see this happen. Does this mean the 6-1 defeat won't count.
Dylan Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 18th. We would go up one place with the -5 taken off from the defeat, and then up another as Portsmouth wouldn't be there. Were on 12 points, Hull are on 13. Hull wouldn't lose any points cause they're playing them tomorrow. So we wouldn't go ahead of them would we . Only go ahead of Sheff Utd as they'd lose 3 points and we'd have a better GD.

Dylan Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Pompey are ahead of us, and if they disappeared, we'd move up another place Oh yeah. How'd I miss that
ajthefox Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 It will be a very sad day if this does happen, I really feel for the fans. Gaydamak sounds like an absolute bellend.
wurmer Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 As said before, it's just the administrator using one of the few weapons he has to stop Gaydamak from messing them about. Probably be a non-story by tomorrow.
Onions Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Oh yeah. How'd I miss that You even made me question my math skills by disagreeing
jonw88 Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Kind of feel sorry for them, but still if it does happen the 6-1 defeat can be wiped from history Does anybody know why Pompey weren't deducted points at the start of the season for being in administration? I'm sure other clubs have been in recent times, some even being deducted for two seasons e.g. Leeds, Rotheram, Bournemouth, so why not Pompey??
JoeyB Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 that means we get an extra 1 or 3 points? Don't it mean we won't get any points, but the 6-1 defeat will be wiped off
MPH Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 This would indeed be so wrong if it happened. I do believe it might just be another tactic by the Administraters. They are experienced and they know what they are doing. Is it still a serious situation? Of course it is but i dont think we have seen the last of the club . Yet.
Joe. Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Football is a business, so I can completely understand Gaydamak wanting his money back. But when you see this (below) you can't help but think he's being a complete bellend. Put simply, despite being offered full payment for the secured part of his debt in accordance with the financial plan approved by the Football League, this morning Mr Gaydamak has demanded a very significant upfront cash payment in order to allow the deal to proceed by releasing his security. Got a decent Pompey mate who lives across the road from me at uni and I know he'll be absolutely gutted. Never want to see clubs go out of business, whoever they are.

jonw88 Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Didn't they have their points deduction last season? Yes in the Premier league, but not this season. I thought if you were still in adminstration for the next season, then you'd be deducted points for that season too At least that's what happened with the other clubs I mentioned but that was between leagues in the Football League, don't know if or why it differs from the Premier League to the Championship?

I'm sure other clubs have been in recent times, some even being deducted for two seasons e.g. Leeds, Rotheram, Bournemouth, so why not Pompey?? you get the points deduction when you enter administration, you don't get another point deduction if the league you play in changes while in admin. Leeds had a point deduction for going into admin, the second was for selling the club without a CVA (company voluntary agreement) in place, Rotherham & Bournemouth went into admin on two seperate occasions.

MPH Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Yes then MK Pompey. I can see the Wimbledon Pompey FC being formed....
The Doctor Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 seems as good a time as any to bring this up
skinnydipper Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 If it happens this guy will have to change his passport and driving license (if he doesn't top himself) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-566897/His-John-Anthony-Portsmouth-Football-Club-Westwood--today-team-compete-unfashionable-FA-Cup-final-ever.html
