l444ry Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 It's very sad to see young people being reduced to this. Don't the LibDem MPs who signed the NUS pledge realise what they've done to the future hopes of so many young people? It's gonna be Thatcher years all over again. Were the Miners, anti-Nazis, Poll Tax, CND all scumbags as well? Are all football fans scumbags because of a few violent yobs? Get real Webbo....
Benji Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Just seen the clip on the news of the fire extinguisher dropping. I hope they caught whoever dropped it on one of the helicopter cameras and lock him/her up for attempted murder/intention to cause GBH for a very long time absolutely disgusting, can't believe it didn't kill someone. There's protesting and pushing, then theres complete idiocy. Vile creature.

Do you know that the poorest 25% of students will actually be better off making university more accessable to the poorer communities. how that is taking away the dreams of young people is beyond me. the top fee's will be on the top courses at the top universities meaning the students on these courses land the top jobs with top wages.

Where's your source for that ? I'm not necessarily disagreeing, I'd like to know.
Hammster Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Worthless causes should be much much more expensive. People who are taking a degree that will actually benefit society should pay much less. Simples. Any point the protestors may have had has been completely overshadowed by idiocy from a minority.

Are all the 50,000, possibly more, demonstrators clowns? Are they all deluded? This national demonstration (jointly organised by NUS and lecturers' union UCU) must be this country's biggest weekday protest since the massive Stop the War demo. Another bleating Tory tit !!!
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 That looked like an awesome riot. in terms of destruction, chaos and anarchy, it was crap

I think that would work to some extent such as teachers, nurses who don't get great wages but arguably have very tough jobs but then, if you charge those such as doctors -that are way more likely to end up on huge salaries- less, you get a bigger divide between the higher and lower earners.
Zingari Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I wonder if some of these "students" were in Leicester a few weeks ago , when the EDL march was taking place
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I wonder if some of these "students" were in Leicester a few weeks ago , when the EDL march was taking place i'd bet my mortgage on it
ajthefox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 er, the government. its all in the jargon of the policy Ah, well that's definitely true and valid in a debate then..
l444ry Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 so you can't argue any of the points i put to you then when i ripped your post to bits That's right mate. As your nonsense had no relevance to my previous post, your "points" weren't worth wasting my time on.
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Ah, well that's definitely true and valid in a debate then.. not sure if you are trying to be funny there or not, but they can not stand up in parliment and actually run out false figures. independant parlimentary groups also check/agree it

As your nonsense had no relevance to my previous post, your "points" weren't worth wasting my time on. you wont waste your time because you know you aren't shouting the whole story out are you, just titbits. I pointed out that it helps the poorest yet you claim it dashes the hopes and dreams of young people. you have no come back on the dribble you posted

Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 not in a policy you cant, the figures are out there straight away
Lillehamring Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Compared to riots in other countries, that's a fvcking picnic. Not excusing people kicking windows through and injuring people, though. What I will say is that if I were told before I went to uni that I'd be being charged £7,000+ in tuition fees alone, I probably wouldn't have bothered. I'm already guaranteed to start my working life with over £21,000 worth of debt (provided I don't try and secure funding for the LPC) so any more than that would probably have seen me at a point where I'd never be able to fully pay it off. if it makes you feel any better, i've got a 10k loan and a degree that is useless to me. unfortunately a qualification is no use when you can't speak the working language of your employers, meanwhile my loan is increasing as i can't afford to pay it off.
Bryn Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 The whole Uni system is completely fooked - they should have saved money by cutting the number of retard courses (probably would have kept most of those reprobates out of the loop to begin with) - too many people think going to Uni is a right.
dave the caveman Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I can only assume the people defending the price increases with 'you want it, you pay for it' style arguments were too stupid to take advantage of free education in their youth, otherwise I can't see how you can say such a thing while keeping a straight face (if indeed you are....). There are plenty of positives to come from these changes and most of these 'students' probably have no idea what they are protesting about (reminds me of the free tibet protests), but the facts remain that the lib dems told blatant lies about this issue which sends a truly horrendous moral message to our kids, and secondly the enforced debt and subsequent interest charged on that debt is not very far removed from a typical mafia scam. You can profess some silly insecure hatred towards the students if you want, but if this is what the government is doing to the next generation of voters and workers, if this is how little they care about the future of the country, then how much do you think they care about you?
cambridgefox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Just a thought. If these protesters/students were so concerned about paying their loans off, would the day have been more productive at the job centre!!
MC Prussian Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 That looked like an awesome riot. Yeah, fookin Event Culture. As long as an overbored generation of spoilt brats can get a new kick out of smashing things up, all is good in La-La-Land.
