Tilley Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Has anybody got the news on? What an absolute disgrace. Fires, smashed windows, injured police officers and Sky News showing a scumbag throwing a fire extinguisher off the roof. Words fail me.
Stevosevic Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Just seen it, crazy scenes down there today. What the f**k is going on?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Words fail me too. Yes, the vast majoirty of those probably aren't even protesters, indeed, Sky News interviewed one woman who was on the roof, and she had graduated and was a full time 'campaigner' Thankfully the vast vast majority of people are peaceful, the lot from my uni are on their way home. But it's just an excuse for the rent-a-mob and the radical students to cause damage and act like cvunts. And guess what will get reported tonight? I of course this kind of mindless violence SHOULD be reported, but the problem is that it will now be tarred with students being involved, which completely undermines the point of the protest. Just ridiculous
Jon the Hat Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 What have they got to whinge about anyway? The cost of courses is not going up, just the bing te government put in is being turned into a loan instead! Quit whinging. You only have to pay it back when you are earning so quit whinging.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Tilley's irrational hatred of students does make me laugh, despite his recent Skins-esque visit to Landan Taaaan.

The cost of courses is not going up, just the bing te government put in is being turned into a loan instead! Quit whinging. You only have to pay it back when you are earning so quit whinging. They've gone beyond whinging to all out violence!!!! It doesn't help there cause one bit, they have to live with it, and complain by voting conservative out at the next election. PS - Me and some lunatics are gonna do the same cus we lost our child benefit!!
Tilley Posted 10 November 2010 Author Posted 10 November 2010 They should do a fucking worthwhile course which will get them a job at the end, they won't even notice their £5 a week repayments when they are earning a decent wedge.

It doesn't help there cause one bit, they have to live with it, and complain by voting conservative out at the next election. PS - Me and some lunatics are gonna do the same cus we lost our child benefit!! It is a good point. I am going to be about £30k out of pocket over the next 20 years. This lot should thank their lucky stars!!!
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 no one has mentioned that these changes won't even effect the current students. its just an excuse to do their 'radical student' crap
ousefox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 no one has mentioned that these changes won't even effect the current students. its just an excuse to do their 'radical student' crap or maybe they feel sorry for the next lot of students? Still no need for that sort of violence, apparently some policemen have been taken to hospital. Disgraceful.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Anyone else wondering what type of cricket bat the protestors are using? I reckon someone's gone in with a Mongoose myself.
breadandcheese Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Anyone else wondering what type of cricket bat the protestors are using? I reckon someone's gone in with a Mongoose myself. Why is it always cricket bats or baseball bats rather than hockey sticks? What's wrong with a hockey stick?
Tilley Posted 10 November 2010 Author Posted 10 November 2010 They should arrest the students responsible for this damage. The should be charged and then thrown off their courses. Another shit load of money will have to be spent on the clean up too.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Why is it always cricket bats or baseball bats rather than hockey sticks? What's wrong with a hockey stick? Because cricket bats can be held by either right or left-handers, much more versatile. Unlike fascist hockey sticks.
The Padster Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 They should do a fooking worthwhile course which will get them a job at the end, they won't even notice their £5 a week repayments when they are earning a decent wedge. Don't be daft, they'll never do that so long as there's courses in surfing and fooking Ghostbusters (I shit you not - here )
Jordan Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I saw a few clips of footage from the riot--it seems to me like the protest started off innocuously enough... And then the anarchists arrived.
stez Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 what i've never really understood is the 'they'll earn £x more over the course of their working life' argument. sure they may earn more than a dinner lady or a gardener, but surely with the aim of 50+% of 'young people' going to university, surely supply and demand means the currency of a degree will be worth less (or worthless )?
ajthefox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Has anybody got the news on? What an absolute disgrace. Fires, smashed windows, injured police officers and Sky News showing a scumbag throwing a fire extinguisher off the roof. Words fail me. So is having to pay £27,000 for a 3 year degree.
Tilley Posted 10 November 2010 Author Posted 10 November 2010 So is having to pay £27,000 for a 3 year degree. Get a job at the end of it and pay the loan back then. Nothing in life is free or handed on a plate. Earn it.
Samilktray Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 I went to a student night a few weeks back, before that I didnt mind students but upon leaving that I realised that they are all scumbags and I dont like them. But Tilley has a deep hatred of them.
Jon the Hat Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 So is having to pay £27,000 for a 3 year degree. £27,000 for a top class degree from a top class university is excellent value. And they are the only ones who will be able to charge anything like that amount.
MC Prussian Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 Students causing riots? I thought they were smarter than that. Mind you, the ones causing troubles in France a few weeks ago in connection with the raise of the retirement age were simple youths, and not the working class. Studying these days is overrated and an excuse to go after a real job.
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 So is having to pay £27,000 for a 3 year degree. why should i pay towards instead?
Guest lcfc80 Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 or maybe they feel sorry for the next lot of students? Still no need for that sort of violence, apparently some policemen have been taken to hospital. Disgraceful. i've just laughed out loud at your first comment
ousefox Posted 10 November 2010 Posted 10 November 2010 i've just laughed out loud at your first comment So they all just did it for the fun of it?
