Matt Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 let me think.... a clear, articulate analysis of why we lost that game...some honesty about our off-form strikers and what he intends to do about it.... I say again, there was literally NO POINT to that interview...it could have been done by anybody.... You said good questions from Stringer, i'm not sure he asked any question in regards to game really, Think Stringer was more intrested in a big 'scoop' on incoming/outgoing players which Sven didn't want to answer and within reason, 1) Not too upset players in our team and 2) He doesn't want to upset players or teams he is in talks with.

I say again, there was literally NO POINT to that interview...it could have been done by anybody.... So you want him to say he's signed players when he's not? He's clearly trying to sign strikers. We've been linked with a few. He said we conceded 2 sloppy goals. i think that's true
Kitchandro Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 the point I was making was about Chambers? not Fryatt? what are you talking about... 'could he do any worse for City than Fryatt at the moment?' That's what you said

Good post. Much of the interview had no relevance to today's match.
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 For the love of God, somebody find a striker.
Matt Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 the point I was making was about Chambers? not Fryatt? what are you talking about... Read you original post (Below) Nice to see young Ash Chambers scored for York today... could he do any worse for City than Fryatt at the moment? "could he do any worse than Fryatt at the moment" So to me that means you are questioning Fryatt now saying Chambers can't do any worse, If Fryatt's not playing then how can Fryatt be doing anything wrong?
Corky Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 For the love of God, somebody find a striker. Agree.
Edmund Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 For the love of God, somebody find a striker. We did have a decent one. His first name was Dudley.
Thracian Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Nice to see young Ash Chambers scored for York today... could he do any worse for City than Fryatt at the moment? Chambers needs to make a success of his loan spell. That should be his only focus for now. Schlupp makes a case for the bench seeing as I've said before that I'd always have a youth player on the bench. Whatever, I saw no point in us usng Fryatt today. He's not going to change as a footballer and I cannot imagine him being in the right frame of mind as a afterthought. For me the sooner he moves on the better. I accept that in one or two ways he's a good player, but he's not what we need.
darko2k7 Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Well yes that was frustrating, But o well you not going to win them all . On another day we would have won , it's just football ! no us getting all hot under the collar and blaming this person or that person because that will do nothing but harm to your morale just need to learn from the game and get their heads down in traning ( shooting pratice my i suggest Sven ) And work towards next week when the roller-coaster starts all over again
martyn Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Excuse No 1 - blame Sousa! l sure didn't anticipate that one. Whatever next: Sousa's Penalty Miss Costs City Dearly Weale "Heard Voice of Sousa" Before Clearance Cock-up Strikers Poor Form Blamed On Sousa Training Hangover Don't be facetious. It's evident to anyone who has watched the team over the last 3 seasons that Sousa's reign has left indelible marks, be it mentally or physically on certain players. These do not get ironed out overnight because we are not robots. Or would you rather we go back to pointless pitter patter passing and horrendous defensive organisation.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 I don't get anyone saying "give Vassell a chance" or he needs to settle in. He's not a goalscorer - he had one good season once a long time ago and that's it! We need a goalscorer.
Kitchandro Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 We did have a decent one. His first name was Dudley. Please tell me you're joking
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 We did have a decent one. His first name was Dudley. Please tell me you're joking He is, yes. He's winding me up. He's not that retarded.
Kitchandro Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 People keep going on about Ishmael Miller but I'm not sure he's proved that he's a prolific goalscorer at all
Tilley Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 You're not going to score with Howard leading the line. Gallagher is gash, Vassell is finding his feet, Waghorn was a waste of money and Fryatt is a donkey. Need to sign a striker and play Dyer more, too.
Kitchandro Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 He is, yes. He's winding me up. He's not that retarded. Thanks, that's a relief
stivesfox Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 i am not a Fryatt fan but do think for him his days are numbered, as soon as a striker is found, he be heading to Reading or Hull. Fryatt lost form, bad attitude, granted got 10 minutes but did have some chances today, same as Waggers when he came on. The Strikers have had there chances I fully expect this area will be revamped, with exception of Howard who Sven seems to like. Hustle n Bustle football which we have played under Nigel suited Fryatt, long balls chaos nipping on to loose balls. Now Sousa started the total passing game not suited to the strikers now we have good football with Sven and maybe the styles and awareness does not suit the fryatt types.
Joe. Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 More possession, more efforts on and off target but no goals. Can't finish your dinner, you don't win football matches. Simple. Waghorn in for Vassell next game would go down nicely, but apart from that I don't see the need for wholesale changes against Forest.
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Thanks, that's a relief By the way, he'll post denying it in a second. Don't rise to it, it's called "WUMing."
colbo68 Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Good post. Much of the interview had no relevance to today's match. Stringer repeatedly asked Sven whether he was concerned about our inability to take chances - good question for me as this is our problem and has been all season... rather than Sven pissing his pants and coming out with utter drivel (his answer was akin to that of a ten year old) I'd have loved him to have the bollox to agree with Stringer, to say that he was dissapointed in his strikers and give them all a much needed kick up the arse by saying he was interested in a number of options... THAT would have meant something and made me respect him - what he said could have been read off a cue-card - Sven's stock responses to questions, like that of a politician...
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 November 2010 Posted 20 November 2010 Sell the whole lot and start again. Rational and well thought through.

So you expect him to say something along the lines of - Yeah there all shit, I'm looking at replacing every single one of them and they will all be got rid of sooner or later. What a motivational stratagy.

Yep, no better solution to give your strikers a "kick up the arse" than by suggesting on a radio station you are actively looking to replace them. Man manager extraordinaire,
