MikeyT Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Would love to see him back here, but wether that would happen though i wonder. Who's place would he take in the team though. Wellens maybe?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Why are his appearances limited? Is it due to his injury proneness? When he moved to Bolton I said (on here somewhere) that it was a bad move, as he would probably end up as a bench-warmer.
Wymsey Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Would love to see him back here, but wether that would happen though i wonder. Who's place would he take in the team though. Wellens maybe? Most probably if the rumour that he handed a transfer request in was true.
hackneyfox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Sven has apparently said that there will be no more signings today. Perhaps he'll make a move in January.
bettso Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Kirkland Naughton Davies Vitor Cunningham Abe Davis King Vassell Bednar Waghorn A MA ZING

DanTheFox07 Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 this would be a massive signing if we make a move for him in january i assume! really liked this guy when we had him before!
ousefox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Would be a quality signing, but is he better than what we have? Could only replace Abe in my opinion as Wellens and King are just as good as he is.
Simmo86 Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 If Davies did sign, it would be bye bye Richie
Messi Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Why would it be byebye Richie? He has been up their with candidates for man of the match for about the last 4-5 games? Why not Yuki Abe byebye? I haven't been impressed with him that much, but like King etc he can't do anything wrong because people think he is some sort of messiah. Gets quite annoying to be honest.

Dames Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Davies would be far superior to Wellens. The lads got velcro on his boots.
Ric Flair Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Why would it be byebye Richie? He has been up their with candidates for man of the match for about the last 4-5 games? Because he's a fat old northern scratter. In all seriousness they are different players, i'd have Davies in my team over Wellens any day of the week though.
bettso Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 shame it cannot happen even if he does join Until January when we sign them all permanantly!!!
wattolcfc Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Davies would be far superior to Wellens. The lads got velcro on his boots. This.
Lillehamring Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Would be a quality signing, but is he better than what we have? Could only replace Abe in my opinion as Wellens and King are just as good as he is. from what little football davies played for us, it was his attacking play that set him apart - so Abe is probably the least likely to give way, king seems nailed on to be in the squad, so it'd have to be wellens - personally, i'm not convinced that davies has proved to be the saviour that a lot of folk on here believe him to be, 30 starts in 5 years doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. a few decent runs in the half dozen games he played for us is zsolt laszko stuff, somehow davies seems to have found a place in city folklore for some people. as you said, is he any better than what we already have. i'd rather put the million and a half towards someone who is going to be a key player for us now and if/when we are promoted. we need a midfield star; IMO, davies is an injury prone player that is probably not going to provide the rise in quality we desperately need,
Dames Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Why would it be byebye Richie? He has been up their with candidates for man of the match for about the last 4-5 games? Why not Yuki Abe byebye? I haven't been impressed with him that much, but like King etc he can't do anything wrong because people think he is some sort of messiah. Gets quite annoying to be honest. The problem with Wellens is he has a few good games strung together now and then and gets over confident and is crap for another 10 or so. He also never shoots or scores which is appalling considering some of the positions he gets himself into. Abe for me would stay in the team because he covers a lot of the pitch and has boundless energy and he always keeps the ball nice and simple and is never tempted by the hollywood ball like Wellens. King is the top scorer and seeing as our strikers are all firing blanks at the minute he seems to be the only person the goals are coming from consistently.
Dames Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 And Davies hasn't been injured that much fyi. The emergence of one Stuart Holden in the Bolton team is the reason Davies isn't getting much of a look in at the moment. But he won't be coming here sadly
lcfcsnow Posted 25 November 2010 Author Posted 25 November 2010 a few decent runs in the half dozen games he played for us is zsolt laszko stuff, somehow davies seems to have found a place in city folklore for some people. as you said, is he any better than what we already have. He's got class that Wellens shows very rarely, always trying the impossible pass. http://www.davieg-gallery.limeo.co.uk/images%20-1%20lcfc%202008_9/yeovil-firsthalf.wmv @ 2:20, if that went in, goal of the season.
Lillehamring Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Why would it be byebye Richie? He has been up their with candidates for man of the match for about the last 4-5 games? being the best player on the field in a given game doesn't mean that a better player can't replace them (not that i reckon davies is) better, you wouldn't say no to, ahem, lionel messi if dyer wins a few MOTM? wellens would give way because they are the most similar in their roles (again i don't reckon davies is necessarily better than wellens) Why not Yuki Abe byebye? I haven't been impressed with him that much, but like King etc he can't do anything wrong because people think he is some sort of messiah. are you kidding? Abe got slaughtered by nearly everyone for his first few appearances, people were really harsh on him, now he's playing well and his talent seems to be growing, and people are recognising this Gets quite annoying to be honest.
Collier Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Would be a great addition when fit. I'd love to see him sign permanently in January, we could really use some cover in midfield.
