HEGGSY Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 According to the daily mail werder bremen want curtis davies http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-German-side-Werder-Bremen-have-joined-Stoke-Bolton-Wolves-and-Leicester-in-the-race-for-2-5m-rated-Aston-Villa-defender-Curtis-Davies-article648235.html is there any substance or is it lazy journalism
Kent Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 The Mirror seem to be pretty accurate regarding us, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Davies signs to another club in January.
Mack Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 I am sure he will get better offers than signing for us. And when he does Sven will need to be ready with a handy replacement on a permanent basis.
Haydos Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 From his perspective we aren't really his best bet. Signing a contract with us would basically be a big gamble on us getting promoted this year as he knows he could sign for a Prem club on Prem wages. Not getting my hopes up but fingers crossed
themotivator Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 if he wants to leave then i don't care. would be a shame to lose someone of his caliber, but unless he has faith that Leicester can get into PL then there's no point clinging on to him. im sure sven will do his best to sort out a permanent for him here.
Jackirius Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Bremen, Stoke and Bolton, i can't see him coming to us.
nickelbyfox Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 I think depending on how we do in the next 5 games will have an affect on many players who may come to us in January. Just outside or even in the play off places is a lot more attractive to someone like Davies then lingering mid table.
J.Lisemore Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Doesn't surprise me that big clubs such as Werder Bremen are showing interest. Hes a quality player when fit.

I really hope we can push on for the next month because I think this will be the single most important factor with regards to attracting the best signings and persuading loanees to sign on permos.

I can't say much more than that to be honest. I really want him to stay, because he is exactly the type and caliber of player we need to attract to get in the prem and hopefully stay there, but I want him to want to stay more than anything. However, of the loanees we have, I think he is the least likely to value playing with us specifically and although Sven is obviously a big name and we do have potential to climb out of this league, I am more inclined to think Davis will be attracted to the £££ slighly more now he is playing and is on the market as oppose to before we got him, where he was simply lingering and was just hoping for the opportunity, since any increase in funds he would've got would have been a signing bonus and maybe an appearance fee.
North-LondonFox Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Would love to keep him but...... it aint gonna happen. Need to get some quality permanent signings in Jan.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 I've got a sneaky feeling, we'll be keeping him Well until the end of the season at least.
ScouseFox Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 We're a bigger club than Werder Bremen, jeez
Tuna Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 I don't think there is any realistic chance of him going to Bremen, seems like a silly rumour to me.
Haydos Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 We're a bigger club than Werder Bremen, jeez Course we are, we sell out our stadium every week onnowaitaminute
RowlattsFox Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 As good as Davies is, I think in Vitor and Hobbs we have a pretty decent centre back pairing, but it relies on Vitor staying fit and Hobbs finding some form. I'd still be delighted to sign Davies though.

MC Prussian Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Werder Bremen are after around 100+ players at the minute, just to let you know.
themotivator Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Werder Bremen are after around 100+ players at the minute, just to let you know. aren't we all
ajthefox Posted 14 December 2010 Posted 14 December 2010 Werder Bremen are after around 100+ players at the minute, just to let you know. I don't get it, fifa and pes are both limited to 99 aren't they...?

ozleicester Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 Prem team and prem wages might well be appealing, however, with us there is a fair chance of that next year... plus a chance of playoffs and a wembley appearance this year, perhaps the appeal of leicester isnt that minimal. Although, With Jack and Vitor on the bench, we at least have cover should he go.

With davies' last two clubs being in the midlands I am hoping this would be in our favor..... we can but hope....
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 December 2010 Posted 15 December 2010 i think if he is 100 per cent committed to Leicester City then brilliant but if not then we have to accept his decision. Heres hoping he stays with us
