MPH Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson will launch an audacious bid next month to land goalkeeper Shay Given.Full story: Daily Mirror http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/default.stm
Jackirius Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 But Eriksson could face competition from Gerard Houllier, who wants to bring the out-of-favour Manchester City goalkeeper to Villa Park.
ajthefox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 one of the best, most consistent and under-rated keepers in the prem for yearrrrrssss. This would be the best signing of sven so far, but he is too good to drop down here.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Doubt it would happen. When does Kirklands loan finish?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 "Premier League rivals West Brom and Wigan are keeping tabs on Leeds midfielder Max Gradel." A certain someone on this forum will spunk all over this
Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Either Shay Given or David James. I love Sven. CLICK
Captain... Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 If we can bag him on loan until the end of the season would be awesome, may stand a better chance than a premiership rival. Option to recall if anything happens to Hart, it's not totally unfeasible.Sign him on a permanent when we get promoted
Ford Super Sunday Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Shay Given, the same Shay Given who earns £80k a week? Value for wages.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Shay Given, the same Shay Given who earns £80k a week?Value for wages. It does say that Man City would be willing to contribute to his wages. I reckon Mancini should loan us Balotelli too while he's at it as punishment for his stinking attitude
Thracian Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Given would do very nicely! But it may test even Sven's powers of persuasion.
fatmando Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Won't happen but my mouth waters at what sort of players Sven would sign if we get promoted.
Mack Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Sven needs to concentrate his energies on more realistic targets. Whilst players like Given will take Sven's call clubs in higher divisions will also be bidding making it a waste of time. p.s. If David James comes to Leicester, well, lets not go there!

Am getting tired of reading Sven followed by the words audacious and bid. Chris Weale has gone from being a premier league club target in the summer to bench warming behind a keeper who's career is in freefall and can't get a game at Wigan.

Nobody is responsible for his iffy form but himself.
lee(lcfc) Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 we wont get given and i dont want james to come he too old and there better keepers out there
Jakemoore Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 This would be an incredible signing, although I do fear that it is slightly unlikely SVEN <3
sdb Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Top keeper (slightly overrated imo mind), but he would not drop a level. He rates himself highly, lets say.
dannythefox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Did noone see this yesterday on SSN? I did and i didnt bring it up because its aload of crap get real people.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 i know its going to be a long shot at best - but wouldnt it be good? Shay GIVEN instead of Chris "Dodgy keeper" KIRKLAND or Chris WEALE would be amazing
Jimmy Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I'd rather we bought Gradel back and benched Gallagher who's really starting to do my head in atm, constantly bottling it when a tackle presents itself and not offering much the other way either
Jimmy Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 i know its going to be a long shot at best - but wouldnt it be good? Shay GIVEN instead of Chris "Dodgy keeper" KIRKLAND or Chris WEALE would be amazing and you think Weale would of done any better at Ipswich or with the unmarked header from 6 yards or so out or that cracker Snodgrass scored do you?
