STUHILL Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He would no doubt be a great signing for us, but A) Veryyyyyyyy Unlikely and B) I don't want us to spend 7-8million on him
ibbosuk Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Yakubu, I can see a host of Prem club in front of us AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ibbosuk Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 All Everton forums saying he has been sold for £7.5m, but they don't know who to. Bet its West Ham. Anyway I can not see Sven throwing all his eggs in one basket and going for him at 7 Million.
lcfcsnow Posted 5 January 2011 Author Posted 5 January 2011 Then you, my friend, are a bellend. Well he's not the only one. I'm sure he'll do a job once fit again (thatll take another month similar to vassell), unless he isn't arsed like bender was coming down to the championship. Austin would be better value for money.
cc_star Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Yakubu has done nothing for a couple of years, is unfit & looks over weight Think he scored 1 in 5 last season & 1 in 12 this season - We can miss chances perfectly well without an expensive premier league bench-warmer A young lad from a League 1 or Championship side banging in a few goals for their club will serve us far better... Or, and this may be quite radical, left-field blue sky thinking - Just give Waggy a chance

Fox 4 Life Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 No denying he could be awesome at this level but for £7.5m no way is he worth the risk. Injury history isn't great and the huge wages have to factor in.
surrifox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 so at a time when middle/lower ranked premiership clubs receiving 40 odd million a year in sky money are writing off millions in transfer fees just to get obscenely high wage earners out of their clubs LCFC are being linked with the likes of Carew and Yakubu on £60k a week out of the £ million or so coming in for championship tv rights. What happens when the Thais get bored with the idea of owning a football club and walk away leaving the club with a £4 miilion a year wage bill for a fading "superstar" Just wondrin'.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Even if a Premier League team goes in for him, surely he's not going to cost that much?

Not only that, but what if they're financing the club through a myriad of shell organisations and we owe them the money it cost them to buy it (Glazer style), along with Ericsson's & everyone else wages which will be millions more than the division can support. We could be £30m+ in debt already, which will only spiral with premier league loan deals & signings. It just depends what type of owners they are.
DanTheFox07 Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Then you, my friend, are a bellend. he`s allowed to voice his opinion, besides charlie austin is a good player!
BigBawsFaeTheShaws Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 For £7m I'd expect to see him net these!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Not worth the money Everton want nor the wages hes on.
Guest Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Not worth the money Everton want nor the wages hes on. But do we care if he's worth 7m as long as he bangs in the goals that get us to the prem?
ScouseFox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Not sure about his fitness, think he's fully fit, just not playing for Everton because they prefer to play nobody up front. Either way, I reckon he'd smash up this league.
jimmer Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 For £7m I'd expect to see him net these! First time ive seen that........Mwa ha ha ha!!
nickelbyfox Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 He would be AMAZING!!!!!!!! however somehow I see us being linked with any nigerian player or anyone rumored to be moving on!
MikeyT Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 From Stringers Twitter: Yakubu to #lcfc could be on. Sven's interested (as reported in the Daily Mail although other sources have confirmed) - thoughts on him?
Bilo Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 If fit, he will eat this division and spit it out. I'd be surprised if teams at the lower end of the Prem weren't interested, though we're probably one of very few Championship clubs who could afford him so the competition is less likely to come from our division.

The trouble is from what I've seen of him recently is that he would eat this division, and swallow it and then come back for seconds! I don't remember him ever being that big?? No doubt he's a quality player, or was, but can we really afford the sort of money that's being mentioned?

He's never been a skinny player, hench centre-forward is what he is. I do agree that he would be a massive gamble with his fitness concerns and the amount of money he'd cost though.
Jackirius Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Fitness and ambition i think would be the only problem. But there is no doubt about it he WOULD be a quality signing.
