Wymsey Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Why couldnt we get a permanent deal then? does this mean spurs dont want to sell. I presume as Redknapp is willing Woodgate and Corluka to leave the club then, he may want to loan Naughton and Walker (at Villa) for more match experiences and bring them back in whenever they need them.
Nick Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Why couldnt we get a permanent deal then? does this mean spurs dont want to sell. Maybe it keeps some pennies for our massive big name signing and it's part of the Thai master plan........... Nick doesn't necessarily believe this - he's just searching for hope.
STUHILL Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Spurs could have been demanding too much money. 1.5Million was being talked about but Spurs could have quite easily been asking for a lot more. I know we have money now but we shouldn't be held to ransom for players. That's just a theory though. Happy enough with season long loan. Phewwwww, I don't have to decide between Nielsen and Lamey now!!
Drift Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Think it'll be a case of him not wanting to be at a Championship club for long. Bet if we go up this season he'll get made permanent. If we don't he'll be back to Spurs. Probably the best arrangement for both parties tbh.

The Merc said Spurs were wiling to sell but I think making sure we have him for the rest of the eason is the most important part. I'm just glad the only change to our backline is Bamba providing him being cup tied is no longer an issue since he's ours.
MPH Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Spounds like Naughton wanting a safety net incase we dont get promoted. he would have plenty of offers at the end of the season if we dont get promoted. Good deal for everyone indeed!!!!
Wymsey Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Sorry for bringing this thread up but it says Spurs defender Younes Kaboul expected to be out for six weeks according to the BBC. I have a feeling therefore Naughton will get called back. Hope not as we can't get another one like him unless we are dead lucky.

What happened to that Walker bloke?
Simmo86 Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Can't be recalled as we have paid a fee for him.

They have both Corluka and Hutton in that position. Plus if they were to call back anyone it'll be Walker, as he ahead of Naughton on the pecking order.
zubi Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 They have other back up don't they? What happened to that Walker bloke? Kyle Walker? He's with Villa
Adster Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 They have other back up don't they? What happened to that Walker bloke? Kyle Walker? On loan to Aston Villa mate.
ajthefox Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 They have other back up don't they? What happened to that Walker bloke? edit: bit late on Walker answer
sdb Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 surely the more likely scenario is Woodgate not leaving?
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2011 Posted 30 January 2011 Kyle Walker? On loan to Aston Villa mate. Cheers. I would have thought they would recall him first. Can't we just buy Naughton tomorrow. <_<
