just seen this say's a number of English clubs have contacted Wenger would love to see him up front with Yakubu

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says striker Carlos Vela could be loaned out by the end of the week.

French boss Wenger revealed earlier this month that he was looking to send the Mexican out on loan in order for him to gain more playing experience.

Clubs from England and abroad have since contacted the Gunners regarding a possible deal for the 21-year-old, with Bolton boss Owen Coyle publically voicing his interest.

Wenger says Vela would prefer a move to Spain, while the manager is keen to keep the youngster in England.

Either way, Wenger says a deal could be sealed after the Gunners' Carling Cup semi-final second leg with Ipswich on Tuesday.

Likely

"There's nothing done at the moment, no," Wenger told Arsenal's official website. "But that could be sorted out Wednesday or Thursday.

He added: "Personally I wish (he would go to a Premier League club) because he's a great player and it will be easier for me to follow his progress but he is attracted by Spanish football because it is his home language.

"But hopefully we can find a good solution for him in England."

Mexico international Vela has spent time on loan at Spanish clubs Salamanca and Osasuna since arriving at Emirates Stadium from native outfit Guadalajara in 2005.

The youngster has only made four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, although he has played in the Carling Cup, FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

Absolutely no chance in Vela coming here. He will be in the premier league or spain.

It even has Wenger in the article saying "Personally I wish (he would go to a Premier League club)"

Dunno how some of you guys join these dots up

How many loans can we field at once?

Naughton, Davies, Van Aanholt, Yakubu

There's also Vitor when fit

Didn't we all have this argument before? I am sure the conclusion is that Vitor doesn't count as one of the five loanees that can be played in a match day situation.

You are right.

Now that our defence situation seems to be resolved, we must go all out for either Giovani or Kranjcar at Spurs, who need to lose a man for their 25 man squad. Or Barrera at West Ham.

Yes please!!

I think with Sven maybe allowing Waggy to go out on loan, he must have his eye on another attacking signing, otherwise we have Howard as our replacement for the Yak if injured <_<

Charlie Austin is on his way to ipswich, bid been accepted according top SSN :(

I wouldnt worry about that one. As good of a prospect he is, we dont need to take the chance. Especially when sven brings in the likes of yakubu
