Kent Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Now obviously we're all Leicester through and through but I'm sure some of us will have a 'second' team (so to speak) that you either particularly enjoy watching, support, respect or even just have a preference for. For me, out of all the 'big' teams I prefer Arsenal. I like the way they play, their transfer policies and the manager. I respect their philosophy of refusing to buy their way to glory despite 5 years without a trophy. Bergkamp & Henry were unbelievable along with the relatively lesser known names that seem to go to the club and flourish over the years. Wenger is a genius despite his flaws. Of course if we ever play them in league & cup then I wouldn't want anything more than to embarrass them. Not that it necessarily has to be a big club, it could be a local non-league/semi-pro team or just a random reason. Anyone else got a soft spot for another club, can't just be me?
LCFCmatt Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Blackburn because I won the league with them on football manager. Pedersen is amazing. Nearly as good as gally
z-layrex Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Well I go to Crystal Palace games as they're my local 'big team', but I find it hard to feel like a real fan, love the foxes too much. Also got to love Crawley Town (where I live).
ScouseFox Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Bristol Rovers probably. And to a lesser extent, Everton. Only due to location and siding with them over Liverpool.
sdb Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Whoever Heskey plays for, and Stoke, as my old man's a fan.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Barcelona since I watched them take Man United apart in 1994 on ITV, scintillating stuff. Also have a bit of a soft spot for Grimsby with knowing a few of their fans.
StanSP Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 I have 3 joint teams as a 'second' club. Barcelona. Arsenal. Everton. Out of the above, and at a push if I only had to pick one, it'd be Barcelona. I don't support Arsenal and Everton like I do Leicester and Barcelona. But I wish them well and I have friends who support both. If either team loses, it makes a couple of my mates annoyed. If they win, it makes them happy! Plus I like the way each team plays and Arsenal especially are a joy to watch.
Narborough_fox Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Rangers F.C. Charlton just behind purely for Chrissy P
Webbo Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Arsenal, due to the fact that they were the only serious rival to Liverpool for a while and then the only serious rival to ManUre for a while too.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Lincoln City. If Arsenal win it keeps the locals happy, and if anything they're my favourite of the title challengers, but I wouldn't call them anywhere near a second team
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Inverness Caledonian Thistle because my dad was from there.
Unabomber Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 I like Arsenal and Rochdale, don't mind Sheffield Wednesday either.
Brainy Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 that team Yuki played for, cant remember their name
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Melbourne Victory also have a soft spot for Everton cos of Cahill
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 that team Yuki played for, cant remember their name If you can't remember there name it's fair to say you don't follow them very well.
Jimothy Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Like Arsenal because of the reasons in the first post really. Like to see Huddersfield do well because my sister lives there. Mates a Newcastle fan so like the to see the do well, but also don't mind them losing so I can take the piss. Oh and Hibernians in Malta. Bought a shirt when I went there about 15 years ago and have always followed them since.
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Celtic - the rest of the family supports rangers, need i say more? Cowdenbeath - Scottish roots wise they're my local team.
Mikey Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Man Utd. Mikey agrees too. Yep, best team in the country with the best fans in the country. Whats not to like?
