Yep, best team in the country with the best fans in the country. Whats not to like?

I think you're getting two terms confused, most doesn't necessarily mean best.

:giggle: Don't take offence, just having a laugh.

Pssst, i think they were being sarcastic ;)

Newcastle United - My mother's half of the family are all Newcastle supporters.

Don't worry, they're not cvnts like most Newcastle fans.

Stoke as i have my Grandparents, Uncle, Cousin and 2 Aunty's living there. I attended two games at the Britannia so far. :)

Spurs probably. Not sure why really, probably due to the fact they're underdogs but are still competing with the big boys atm. Also have quite a lot of English players in the squad and score a fair amount of goals, plus Harrys a character lol

Quite like Man Utd as personally I don't understand why everyone hates them. I genuinely think its jealousy. Sure, some of their fans are nobs and couldn't even find their way to Old Trafford, but you can't tarnish everyone. A good mate of mine- lives in Coalville, still has a ST there. HIs dad got him into them, and he even went to the Nou Camp in 1999 when they won the Chimps League.

Welling United & Cray Wanderers (the oldest club in England)

Oldest team in England would be Sheffield FC surely.

I've been following Hibs and St. Pauli's results now for years and watching their games when they're televised and don't clash with City's. And obviously I keep track of Swansea and Cardiff, mostly because I'd like to see a Welsh side in the Prem.

But I don't really believe in this "second team" stuff, I'm a Leicester fan and nothing else.

The mighty Kettering Town, used to go all the time as a kid with my pops when we couldn't afford the trip to Filbert Street.

And the mighty King's Lynn Town FC, my local team now. Cheap as fvck to go watch and have a few beers with some decent folk.

If I had to pick a fave out of the old big four it would be Man Utd. Hate Liverpool and Chelsea. Arsenal don't have enough Englishmen.

Liverpool because Steven Gerrard is my favourite footballer. Plus, I like scousers, they rule.

Arsenal because of the wonderful football. Plus, Dennis Bergkamp is the greatest player I have ever seen - I always say he's the best player to ever grace the Prem.

West Ham because of the academy mainly and the wonderful players they have developed for football, from Bobby Moore through to Joe Cole.

-- And on the academy note; Crewe Alexandra as well.

Genuinely ridiculous. Arsenal typically play 2 English players per game in Walcott and Wilshere. Chelsea's team last night? Two English players. Man United typically employ a maximum of 3 at any one time. Man City play the same amount as Arsenal usually do and Chelsea did last night. They're all literally as bad as each other and that's reflected in how turd the English national side is.

But anyway, so as to not derail the thread too much, I'll just state that I have a soft spot for Bochum and St Pauli and always watch their games on dodgy German streams if I'm not watching Leic, but love the style of football produced by Arsenal and Barcelona. Used to quite like Wolves when they had Keogh, Kightly and Olofinjana playing for them, but that was more a FM-related affair and also based on how they nonced us at the Walkers.

Yes, ridiculous.

Neville, Hargreaves, Smalling, Brown, Owen, Carrick, Gill and Morrison start every week for Man United do they? Nah, didn't think so. Infact, they barely seem to get on the field these days.

Liverpool DEFINITELY start with Spearing and Kelly every game, have done for years. Cole does NOT play a bit-part role due to him always being injured and Konchesky may or may not be being shipped out to make room for more foreign talent, depending on who you believe. Funny, that, considering of all Liverpool's Englishness.

Same with Chelsea, I know for a fact that Turnbull plays in every game and that Sturridge starts ahead of Drogba and Anelka week-in, week-out. Oh no, wait, he doesn't. Nor does he get in ahead of Malouda. Oh.

As for Arsenal, I didn't even choose to mention Gibbs seeing as he's deputy to Clichy but whatever.

I forgot a measure of how "English" a team was is based on it's reserves and bit-part players. Sorry.

Hold on minute. Don't start crying.

You said I was ridiculous for stating that "Arsenal do not have enough Englishmen" (I didn't realise I should have been more specific and that someone was going to jump up and down about it. I should have said 'big' or 'key' English players).

Do Arsenal or do Arsenal not have fewer English players?

Crying? Not me, chief, I was merely pointing out the inaccuracies of your ridiculous remark by pointing out that at any one time, the "top" clubs have the same number of Englishmen on the pitch as Arsenal do. If we're going to discuss players that get regular game time then the list looks as follows: Arsenal (3), Chelsea (4), Man City (4), Man United (3, maybe 4 at a push), Liverpool (3, again maybe 4 at a push). In those terms, Arsenal are slightly worse than their rivals, making your assertion just ridiculous. However, if like you we take into account reserves and bit-part players, then I'd say Arsenal have more than enough Englishmen at their club.

Wilshere has played far more football than Lampard this season. In fact he probably has the highest appearances out of everyone you've mentioned

Out everyone only the one's i've highlighted do anything for the national team and the 3 arsenal players have seen far more game time than the like of Neville, Owen, Hargreaves etc this season.

Plus J.E.T., Lansbury, Eastmond, Frimpong have all seen first team action. First three are on loan, helping out other teams in the ENGLISH game, as are Watt, Randall, Hoyte, Bartley, Afobe, Freeman and Cruise

But yeah, Arsenal are all bloody foreigners and its Wenger's fault the national team are crap.

I think you misunderstand that I am not fighting the other side of your above argument. I never said anything about who plays at this moment in time.

I said that I don't like Arsenal as much as the others because "they do not have enough Englishman". That's all. I am correct when I say Arsenal have less Englishman in their first team squad. That is not ridiculous at all.

My thinking behind it is that Utd have Ferdinand and Rooney and Scholes. Liverpool have Gerrard and Carragher and although he's been shit recently Joe Cole. Chelsea have Lampard, Terry and Cole. All of these players are or recenlty have been the backbone of these teams (maybe not Joe Cole but I like Joe, after all it was my opinion I was expressing). Arsenal don't have these sort of English players. I don't think that's ridiculous at all.

Calling me ridiculous was on your part harsh in my opinion and now you refuse to back down. Is that because your post count is so much higher than mine? Therefore you feel you cannot be publicly seen to back down to a member with such a little post count? My post count is low therefore my opinion is therefore insignificant and you can jump on my back and earn brownie points off other posters for belittling me? Your a dickhead my friend.

Borussia Dortmund, Hibernian, Rochdale, Corinthians, Velez Sarsfield, Rapid Vienna, Besiktas, and, on the national circuit, Egypt.

Always keep an eye out for their results and genuinely get a bit pissed off if Dortmund or Hibs lose.
