singaporefox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Looking at the players we have now, we can beat anyone. Strong feeling we can remain unbeaten till the end of season. Hope our run continues.... and be promoted this year :sge: :sge:
lestajigs Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 I think out starting 11 is one off the strongest! Not the squad though Our
superfox1980 Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Can't see us going unbeaten until the end of the season. We got some big away games at QPR, Forest, Derby etc...... There's going to have to be a big change in our away form if we want to get in the playoffs.
Simmo86 Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Not a chance of going unbeaten. Lets be realistic!
Ziggy1990 Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 I think out starting 11 is one off the strongest! Not the squad though Our agreed, a really competative 1st eleven, cant complain with the rest either....... in fact quite surprised we are supposdly still in for another centre half given Hobbs, Vitor, Mee, Bamba, Tunch and Lamey/Berner (at a push) are comfortable in there ...a nippy winger would be handy, but meh, not overly fussed (no chance going unbeaten btw)
cambridgefox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 We wont go unbeaten,we will also have to be on top of our game to win, as teams will be very defensive against us,when they look at our strong team!
surrifox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 if I was an opposition manager I would certainly not regard City as impenetrable , defensively we have a number of shortcomings from Weale's tendency to be surprised from shots from distance to a bit of vulnerability in the air , however we are really looking a handy outfit going forward and that should make life interesting for the remainder of the season
singaporefox Posted 28 January 2011 Author Posted 28 January 2011 I think out starting 11 is one off the strongest! Not the squad though Our Agreed !! Hope we can remain injury free............ Assistant Manager Happy With Options Posted on: Thu 27 Jan 2011 City assistant manager, Derek Fazackerley has been pleased with the team's recent form and revealed how he and boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson are happy with the strength of their squad as the end of season run-in begins. The Foxes have been busy during the transfer window, with several new players arriving, a few going out on loan and plenty of trialists coming into the club. The most recent addition is Chelsea left-back, Patrick van Aanholt, and Derek explained the thinking behind bringing the 20-year-old Netherlands youth international in on loan.
FOXYMUM Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Great manager, good strong squad, come on lets believe we can go on a winning run. Now that we have natural goalscorers, Bamba and Yakubu!!
B52 Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 ...defensively we have a number of shortcomings from Weale's tendency to be surprised from shots from distance... This is probably fixed now when the defence and midfield narrowing the possibiliy to shoot from good angles. Maybe we have to wait til the CB situation is more stabile.
Fox92 Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Personally, I think the first team is strong. Players like Wellens, Yakubu and Naughton are top class at this level. The only worry is probably the back up. I was thinking yesterday that midfield isn't well covered in case of injuries. The first team is strong on paper, but we don't play matches on paper...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 I remember people sayin that we could easily go unbeaten to the Newe Year, and we lost at Watford, Ipswich and Millwall. I think we do need to go on a unbeaten run, but that is obvious. I think if we cant build on the current spell of 4 unbeaten than we can forget it, as we wont have a better chance. I wont be getting excited at least until we get through February, see where we are then, and that will give us an idea of how good we actualy are.
Corky Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 One game at a time. I know it's a cliche but we shouldn't look further than Sheffield United.
Mack Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 We are still a little weak at Centre Half. And if Vitor or Tunchev cant get fit relatively quickly I would hope the club are looking at an addition before Tuesday.
Roy Cropper Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Our 1st 11 is strong agreed. Our bench and squad, with the exception of maybe Waghorn, is utter gash though.
Kingylcfc Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 our starting eleven could compete in the Premier League...but our second strongest players for each position would probably only compete at League 1 standard The teams being... Strongest: Weale Naughton Bamba Hobbs Berner Abe Wellens King Vassell Dyer Yakubu Second Strongest XI Logan Lamey Mee Parkes Neilson Oakley Moreno Gallagher Moussa Waghorn Howard
Wymsey Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Midfield's ok, but we need a decent CB and a another striker like Yakubu before we are considered a 'strong' team.
milsey Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 to the post above, how on earth can u put gallagher in ur second string?????Hes been one of our best performers this season!! Fed up with him not getting the credit he deserves!!
Salieri Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 to the post above, how on earth can u put gallagher in ur second string?????Hes been one of our best performers this season!! Fed up with him not getting the credit he deserves!! So who would he replace in the first team? The only possibility really would be Dyer but I'd rather have Lloyd in there.
Kitchandro Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 So who would he replace in the first team? The only possibility really would be Dyer but I'd rather have Lloyd in there. Vassell? He played well on the wing on Saturday but lets face it it's not his best position. Vassell only played there cos Gally was injured
Salieri Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Vassell? He played well on the wing on Saturday but lets face it it's not his best position. Vassell only played there cos Gally was injured Vassell is better up front but I'd still have him out wide ahead of Gally. Don't get me wrong, I like Gallagher and technically he's one of our best players but out on the wing I'd rather have pacier, more direct players such as Vassell and Dyer. Still think Gally would be best suited as an attacking (central) midfielder, if one of the midfield trio is injured then he should get an opportunity there.
milsey Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 to be honest thats a hard one with the players we have but u gotta play gally for set pieces alone. The lad was a great prospect at blackburn and altho its a bit late i feel hes finally setting the standards people expected of him back then.
STEVIE B Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 The squad is very strong for the championship. However,it will take time to become consistent, which is natural as the side is adjusting to new signings. The side will settle down after the transfer window closes, away form will improve, and the play-offs should be ours.Anything is possible from there ! JOB DONE !!
Haydos Posted 29 January 2011 Posted 29 January 2011 No Appreciate your contribution. Take it you've got a good feeling about this season?
