darko2k7 Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 After winning five out of the six games so far in 2011, the Foxes go into the game against Derby County, fully confident of bringing all three points back to the Walkers Stadium. The turn of the year has also seen an improvement in City's away form, winning three and drawing one on the road. In their last match, Sven-Goran Eriksson's men brushed aside Barnsley at the Walkers Stadium, winning the match 4-1. The first goal came on 15 minutes when Paul Gallagher hit a screamer into the top corner from the edge of the area. The home side continued to apply the pressure and grabbed the second just before half time. A great move between Vassell and Wellens released Andy King, his initial shot was blocked, before a superb chip over Tyke's goalkeeper Luke Steele. That looked to have ended first half proceedings but Barnsley hit back moments before the whistle was blown. Jacob Mellis curled a neat finish past Chris Weale to give the visitors a route back into the game. City didn't let the minor setback get to them and on 58 minutes, captain King broke on the counter attack and slotted a terrific goal past Steel to put the Foxes firmly in the driving seat. The hosts continued to dominate the game and the icing on the cake was added when Kyle Naughton hit a thunderbolt on 89 minutes to hand the Foxes all three points. Eriksson will be looking for his side to continue the recent upturn in away form by beating local rivals Derby County at Pride Park this Saturday. The Rams go into the game at Pride Park without a win in six, losing four a drawing two. Despite a great run of form between September and November, County currently site in 17th place, ten points behind the Foxes. Their last league encounter was against Portsmouth on the south coast, a game which ended in a 1-1 draw. Steven Davies opened the scoring for the Ram's on 34 minutes, after Tomasz Cwyka put in a superb cross, before Davies slammed home past Pompey 'keeper Jamie Ashdown. Derby looked good for their 1-0 lead throughout much of the game but Portsmouth piled men forward in the late stages and got their reward. David Nugent took advantage of a loose ball in the Derby defence before slotting the ball past Bywater to spark celebrations amongst the Fratton Park faithful. Nigel Clough will be looking for his side to put the earlier meeting between the two sides to the back of their minds on Saturday, as they look to end the winless run and get back to winning ways. Wycombe Fox Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Just looking at the live tables and noticed that the games in hand that the teams around us had, seem to have been swallowed up.
FuriousFox46 Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Amazing looking back at that video: Chrissy P at Derby Savage at Leicester Schteve on the Derby bench. Andy Gray with a job.
MikeyT Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Amazing looking back at that video: Chrissy P at Derby Savage at Leicester Schteve on the Derby bench. Don't forget Gary Rowett at Derby as well, before he saw sense and came to us.

Proper nostalgia trip that.
MikeyT Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Today's starying 11 from Radio Leicester for City is this: Ricardo Naughton Mee Bamba Van AAhnolt Oakley Wellens King Vassell Yakubu Gallagher Subs: Weale, Waghorn, Abe, Dyer, Berner, Moussa, Bruma
Dylan Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Ricardo Naughton Mee Bamba van Aanholt Oakley Wellens King Vassell Yak Gally Subs: Weale, Bruma, Dyer, Waghorn, Berner, Abe, Moussa
AmyLGK Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 What the **** is weale doing on the bench!!?!?!?!?!?
brookfox Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Today's starying 11 from Radio Leicester for City is this: Ricardo Naughton Mee Bamba Van AAhnolt Oakley Wellens King Vassell Yakubu Gallagher Subs: Weale, Waghorn, Abe, Dyer, Berner, Moussa, Bruma (May have heard the bench wrong) Very harsh on Weale. Oh well, Sven clearly doesn't rate him so what can you do!
Dylan Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Not really sure why Weale has been dropped- not sure what he has to do to stay in the team. Would also rather have Abe in rather than Oakley, and Dyer on for Vassell.
Callabinho Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Why the change in goal? surely it can't have anything to do with the mistake last season? I can't work that one out only that there will be yet again a disruption in the back 4......
AmyLGK Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 erm edited cause I've just done one of the stupidest things ever and this question is no longer relevant!
VinceNoir Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Bit harsh on Weale unless his has a minor injury.. Oh well, will be good to see what Ricardo can do.
Fox 4 Life Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 not convinced with dropping Weale at all, he has been awesome. Abe hasn't been himself the last few games and if Oakley sits back in the holding role I think he will play well.
MikeyT Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Weale has been excellent the last few games and doesn't deserve to be dropped. Feel a bit miffed for him.
lcfcsnow Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Well, I'm not a fan of Weale but shocked he's been dropped, he's been in great form and didn't deserve that. Oakley  - I suppose he's captain as well? Disgrace if so.
shailen Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Is this after the amazing performance against sheff utd, it is a bit of a pisstake, but hey lets not doubt sven, he sure knows what he is doing.
