acooling08 Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo - 6 - One decent save, flappy and shaky, still not convinced. WEALE WEALE. Naughton - 7 - Was ok and tried to get forward. Bamba - 8 - He was different class, did better than our wingers would do for the first goal - Get to the byline and get it in the fooooking box! Mee - 7 - Played well, made a few vital headers and interceptions. PVA - 6 - Gave it away a bit and struggled to make an impression. Oakley - 6 - Meh Wellens - 5 - Poor, gave it away constantly. King - 5 - Where was he? Did he touch the ball? Gally - 5 - See King. Yak - 4 - Scored but was awful and lazy. Vassell - 6 - Ran all day long with little end product. Abe - N/A Dyer - He did nothing. Waggy - 8 - Tried his heart out unlike the starting 11 and scored! Sven 5 - Poor subs except for waggy. Gally needed to stay on for set pieces. Yak needed to go.

MattyFromLE Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo - 6 Naughton - 7 Bamba - 8 Mee - 7 Van Aanholt - 6 Oakley - 4 - Terrible. King - 6 Wellens - 6 Vassell - 7 Yakubu - 6 Gallagher - 7 Abe - 6 Dyer - 6 Waghorn - 8.5 - The point 5 is for the amount of effort and passion he put in!
ScouseFox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 5 Naughton 7.5 Mee 7 Bamba 8 PVA 6 - they targetted him, got overran too often, lack of support though Wellens 4 - shocker King 5 Oakley 4 - put a red bib on if you're refusing to pass to our team Gally 5 - inneffectual Yak 6.5 - scored. Vassell 6 Subs; Dyer 6 Abe 6 Waggy 8 - ave that Nigel Clough. Finished, tried, chucked himself about abit.

lcfcsnow Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Spot on. He was useless. How is he still getting games? No surprise that our midfield is totally overrun when he's around, apart from his lucky assist for Waghorn, he offers little to us now. Bamba & Mee were both fantastic again today yet we looked shaky throughout, could have easily lost but a vital 3 points. I can see why Sven's brought Ricardo in but he doesn't look suited to the English game. I'm not keen on Weale returning either though.
gh09lcfc Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 5 - Good with the ball at his feet, actually catched it once but spilled it twice, TERRIBLE Naughton 7 - Thought he did well tonight, didn't stand out but stuck to his task well Mee 8 - If it wasn't for this kid, we could of lost made some very good blocks Bamba 7 - Did well again, couple of lose passes but he was so strong and good in the air Van Aanholt 6 - Mediocre, didn't get forward enough got skinned by Adomah a couple of times Oakley 5 - Should of been subbed, poor game considering I thought he did well against Derby Wellens 6 - Better than Oakley, wanted to get on the ball tried to make things happen King 5 - Very quiet... Vassell 6 - Ran and ran and ran, but like someone said no end product Gallagher 6 - Saw more of the ball than Vassell first half but then drifted out the game Yakubu 7 - His goal get's him a 7, didn't really see much of him tonight Abe 5 - Don't think he touched the ball only about once Dyer 6 - Made two good runs, but was kept at bay Waghorn 8 - Along with Mee fantastic, even though he was on about 10 mins, ran for the ball and scored the winner, FANTASTICO

Possibly Abe back in for Oakley, Dyer for Gally and Waggers for Vassell? Dunno just a thought? Anyways up the Foxes - a wins a win
Thracian Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 5 (Convinces me of nothing. Had little to do but blundered most of it. Aimless kicking made it worse) Naughton 7 (Another steady shift). Mee 7 (Defensively good and well committed but his distribution was awful. Gave the ball away so casually at times) Bamba 8 (Decent assist for Yakubu's goal and the pick of our defenders). Van Aanholt 5 (Poor. Bristol sensed a weakness. Adomah and constantly threatened one on one and Bristol were allowed far too much time and space to deliver uncontested crosses from that side). Oakley 5 (Fluky assist for Waghorn but realistically awful. Never looked like taking his goal chance and wasted too many decent decisions with poor passing.) Wellens 5.5 (Another to malfunction) King 6 (Almost scored a carbon copy of his Derby goal but James did well to block his calmly directed flick. Had another hafl chance with a header late on but was generally ordinary). Vassell 6 (Posed a threat but didn't deliver an end product). Gallagher 6 (Left us with no set-piece specialist when subbed. Okay but subdued). Yakubu 7 (Poacher's goal and one or two decent touches but otherwise disappionting). Subs: Abe 5 (Of no consequence). Dyer 6 (Increased our threat and might have scored had Oakley cleared his path to the ball) Waghorn 9 (My man of the match because he won it for us and sealed three more vital points. You could tell he really meant the shot but he also gave us something that had been noticeably lacking - urgency. He harried Bristol at every opportunity in his short time on the pitch - as we should have been doing all game).
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 5 Naughton 6 Mee 7 Bamba 7 PVA 6 King 6 Oakley 5 Wellens 5 Yak 6.5 Vassell 6.5 Gallagher 5 Waghorn 7 Abe 6 Dyer 6
Fox92 Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 7 - Better communication and distribution than Weale. Could work on catching but I am a fan. Naughton 7 Mee 7.5 - Solid Bamba 7 Van Annholt 6 King 5 - Inconsistant Oakley 5 Wellens 7 - Missed him when he went off. Yakubu 7 - Scored but nothing else really as usual. Vassell 6.5 - Gave energy and chased back well. Gallagher 5 - Missing. Dyer - People can chant his name whilst he sits on the bench all they like. But when he comes on he comes inside to often, giving the left back no option, he doesn't come to the ball when a pass is played to him and also looks lazy at times. Then he wonders why he's on the bench.
Alf Bentley Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo 5 - 1 good save doesn't make up for several spills. Wealo! Naughton 6 - Subdued; not one of his best Bamba 7 Good interventions, great entertainment Mee 7.5 Starting to look very good indeed Van Aanholt 6.5 - Not as bad as some are saying Oakley 5 - Careless in possession, indecisive when forward. Yuki! Wellens 5.5 - Like 1 of his poorer performances from last season King 6 - Quiet Gallagher 6.5 - More quality and commitment than most Yakubu 6.5 - Some quality, but thinks he's too good for us Vassell 7 - More threat than recently & better than most are saying Dyer 6 - Didn't quite get going Abe 6.5 - Likewise, but should've come on earlier Waghorn 7 - Fierce urgency, ferocious finish
Mikey Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 Ricardo - 5 Naughton - 6 Bamba - 8 Mee - 7 PVA - 5 King - 6 Wellens - 5 Oakley - 4 Vassell - 6 Yakubu - 6.5 Gallagher - 6 Subs: Waghorn - 8, could tell he wanted it and cracking finish.
Guest ttfn Posted 18 February 2011 Posted 18 February 2011 They all played like wankers except Waghorn. Mote tomorrow...
okie fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo -5- One good save, dropped two crosses, bring back Weale Naughton -7- Good game both attacking and defending Bamba -8- Excellent Mee -8- Long passing not good, but solid defensively, one tremendous block van Aanholt -6- Didn't use his pace to get around their full back, defensively a bit weak Oakley -5- Mediocre Wellens -6- Some good passes first half, poor second half, limped off King -6- Well marked Vassell -6- Threatened a few times Yakubu -6- Should have scored early, on hand to tap in rebound, not at his best Gallagher -6- Didn't produce anything special SUBS: Dyer -6- Didn't have much impact Abe -6- Same as Dyer Waghorn -8- Only on for about 12 minutes but looked good. Cracking shot to win game
Brown Fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo 5 - Could/should have done better for their goal and spilled it a few times Naughton 7 - solid Mee 8 - very good player and has come on so much since his first game. Makes some vital interceptions Bamba 8 - class as per usual and an assist! PVA 6 - did ok against Adomah with no real support but did give the ball away a lot Oakley 4 - shit. Did so well against derby then plays shit today. Couldn't pass, gave the ball away and missed a piss easy chance Wellens 6 - decent first half but faded second half. Tried the Hollywood ball way too much second half King 6 - did the simple things and could maybe have taken his chance Gallagher 6- quite involved 1st half and had a rasper saved Yak 7 - does what it says on the tin, scores and nothing else Vassell 7 - caused trouble down the right side Subs: Abe - N/A Dyer - N/A Waggy 11 - tracked back, showed passion and helped me to almost combust when he scored! WE LOVE YOU WAGGY!
Foxybeaver Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I'm not going to rate all the players just going to say Oakley and PVA where both terrible, Oakleys lack of pace is showing and PVA claims to be the new Ashley Cole but he can't even pass properly
fox123 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Play shit and get 3 points = luck on side = promotion contenders. Play great and get fook all = no luck = relegation contenders. Al in all a pretty poor outing, but we produced the goods and lady luck was on our side.
Bettsj2 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo - 6 - Not better or worse than Weale Naughton - 7 - Did well Bamba - 9 - So fooking good Mee - 9 - See Bamba PVA - 2 - Opposite of Bamba and Mee Oakley - 0 - Here we go again Wellens - 3 - Believe your own hype and thats what you get King - 2 - Did absolutely nothing. When he doesnt score it really shows how little he does. Gally - 4 - See Wellens. Yak - 4 - Best striker in the division but god does he know it. Lazy bastard. Vassell - 5 - Ran around but didnt really do anything. Abe - Not on long enough to rate Dyer - He did nothing except make himself look shit Waggy - 8 - Did everything you could ask of a player SGE - 7 - Recognised weakness and tried to change it. Fair play for resulting to lump it in the last 5. It's what we needed to do and we did it. Fans - 0 - Chanting 'Weale' was an absolute disgrace. Anyone who argues against that is a ****tard. Ricardo may not be any better than Weale but he certainly isn't any worse.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 After a few Kopparbergs: Ricardo - 3 - No. Get this Portu-disabled away from the starting eleven. Very poor, rarely commanded his area, and looks to have little or no communication with his back line. Needs to learn how to keep hold of the fucking ball. Not impressed at all. Naughton - 6.5 - Didn't put a foot wrong but didn't excell in the manner he can. Mee - 8.5 - MOTM - Brilliant I thought. Won so much in the air and made countless vital blocks. Looks a very tidy signing after a shaky start. Bamba - 8 - Some moments of genius, some moments of fortune, won almost everything aerially (like Mee) amd more often than not found himself in the opposition half contributing to our attacks. Bought a lot of free kicks, centre half pairing looked tremendous bar a short spell in the second period. Van Aanholt - 6 - Defensively sound, but doesn't look comfortable when the ball's in the air, and didn't use his pace to the effect he can. King - 3 - Did little, if anything. Very, very sub standard outing. Wellens - 3 - See King, wasteful in possession and caught out too many times. Oakley - 2 - No better than either Wellens or King, and gave the ball away more often than finding his own man. Should've scored in the second half if it weren't for a crippling lack of pace / touch. Midfield three were very poor on the whole tonight. Vassell - 6 - When running at players, he looks a dangerous player, but he doesn't do it nearly often enough. Cuts in more than I'd like when he should be bombing on and whipping in crosses. Yakubu - 6.5 - Scored, won headers, held play up well. Not his greatest display, and had two gilt-edged chances to bag (particularly in the second minute when he blazed over), but his strength is a real asset. Gallagher - 3 - Set pieces were weak, lost the ball multiple times, and never looked like replicating any of his recent displays. Disappointing. Subs: None were really on long enough to warrant a rating, however, even before he scored, it was obvious Waghorn was looking to force his way into Sven's plans. Fantastic strike, great to see him score, and it clearly meant something to him. Never rated him as the best player technically, but tonight waht we needed in that second half was some tenacity and some bite. He offered it in spades. Would've been a fucking travesty had we let him go out to Derby. Officials: On the whole, I thought they were decent, didn't feel they got that many calls wrong. I've seen much worse down the City. All in all a sub-par performance, but three points is three points, even if it is by the skin of our teeth.
Fatbloke Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo 6 worry`s me greatly, his distribution is superb though, watch and learn Wealey ! Naughton 7 lively as ever Mee 8 solid and reliable, quality player. Bamba 9 the bloke ooozes confidence and class ! PVA 7 very lively, better going forward than defending but will improve King 7 never ever lets us down, and you just never know when he will pop up with a goal. Oakley 8 followed up his superb display at Derby with a solid and hard working display, thoroughly deserves his place Wellens 6 ran the show first half but unusually poor in the second 45, a mere blip they guy`s brilliant Yak 8 never wastes any energy but he can slob about all day for me while he`s scoring, he`ll soon be getting stick if the goals dry up though ! Vassell 8 ran his heart out, is a far better player down the middle though. Gallagher 7 at the top of his game at the moment, an off night tonight but no problem. Waghorn 7 obviously out to make a point, that shot was the outlet for weeks of frustration at not playing, a screamer ! tough choices for Sven now, he really should start at Cardiff ! Abe 6 he`s a great man to have on the bench, he`s got a big part to play yet ! Dyer 7 his pace scares the shit out of tired defenses, unlucky not to be starting but a vital member of a strong squad.
accessory Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Fans - 0 - Chanting 'Weale' was an absolute disgrace. Anyone who argues against that is a ****tard. No worse than the chants that were sung for Fatty Fryatt at any time in the past five years whenever a striker missed a chance and Fryatt wasn't playing.. But Weale > Ricardo, whatever Sven or his acolytes might try and tell us.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo 6 worry`s me greatly, his distribution is superb though, watch and learn Wealey ! I honestly thought his kicking was nothing short of pathetic.
reynard Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo 6 One fine save and some of his short quick distribution is excellent. However, though he did hold onto one corner he was poor at catching and his long range kicking wasn't good.. Naugton 6.5 Not his best though his first half performance was good. Second half he was needed more defensively and generally did ok. Mee 7.5 I would give him a higher mark but some of his distribution in the first half was shocking. Please give up that flighted pass to no one in particular down the chanells it doesn't work. Second half though his defensive play was excellent I'd like to have another look at their goal as I'm not sure he wasn't the one beaten in the air for their header. Bamba 8 Probably MOM, a great assist for the first goal and he looks full (sometimes too full) of confidence. Good defensively as well. PVA 6 Not sure what to make of him. He has pace and is generally good with the ball but his positioning is questionable at times. Set pieces poor last night. Oakley 5.5 Mainly for effort. He closed down well but was beaten for speed of mind and speed of body on several occassions. Not really good enough at this level any more. Poor passing at times. King 5.5 Was he playing at times? One of those typical Kingy performances where he seems to go missing. Some good forward runs but at times I thought he was too far forward. Wellens 5.5 Looked jaded. Some sublime passes but also some which were too ambitious. I think he's one booking away from a suspension and wonder if that is playing on his mind. Gallagher 5.5 Not great. One good effort on goal but like Wellens too ambitious passing at times. set pieces average. Vassell 5.5 Let's face it he is not a winger. He doesn't get round the back of the defence. One or two nice bits of play but he's wasted out wide. Not effective enough at the moment. Yakubu 7 Another goal, should have scored in the second minute and some reasonable play without appearing to make a lot of effort. We will need him to try a bit more in the next four matches. subs Dyer 5.5 I wanted him to come on but he disappointed me when he did. Really couldn't get into the game. Abe 6 Also couldn't really get into the game but ok. Waghorn 8 Did he have one cleared off the line? A bit of luck for his goal but the finish was top class. he got stuck in and was the player who broke up one of their break aways towards the end. Time for a start?
Webbo Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo 6 Naughton 7.5 Mee 8 Bamba 8 PVA 7 King 6.5 Oakley 6.5 Wellens 6.5 Yak 7.5 Vassell 7 Gallagher 6.5 Waghorn 8 Abe 6 Dyer 6
