bettso Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Anyone going to Glandford Park on Saturday, please, please get behind this bloke. Chant his name, applaud him at every opportunity. Show him and the rest of the team that not all Leicester fans are singling him out. If he catches it don't sarcastically cheer, if he punches a cross away dont chant 'Weale'. For once, let's stand up for a player under fire instead of letting the boo boys dominate the noise from our section. There are 10 games left and we CAN still make the play-offs but they can only do it if we're 100% per cent behind every single player. Negativity is an infectious thing and some of our fans have helped to spread it but we can also be the cure. I love Leicester but the last few weeks have been embarrasing. Please, please let's get behind Ricardo.
MrSpaM Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 I agree, i'll be giving him my full support if he starts
Haydos Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Why? Why would you do this? We'd finally reached the conclusion that most people hate him and some think he's alright. Can't you just leave it at that. These idiots aren't going to stop booing because another thread about it is started.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 If a player pulls on the blue and white then they should be supported. They didn't pick themselves, so it's not his fault if he keeps getting picked and some support would probably do him the world of good.
RizLCFC Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 100% agreed. The booing and chanting of 'Weale' is a disgrace I have never booed a Leicester player and never will...so let's get behind our boys in Blue!
cc_star Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Get behind Ricardo? I agree, perhaps a 2nd keeper will help, Ricardo can play sweeper then.... with Bruma joking aside, he (or anyone) should receive the fans full support whilst on the pitch - It is counter-productive to do otherwise.
whenyouresmiling Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but did anyone spot Richie Wellens. signalling to the fans to stop the Weale chants? I'd like Weale to be back in the side, but if Ricardo's in then we should be backing him.
Houdini Logic Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Wouldn't worry about it - there's no chance he'll start

It's also not going to help the rest of our season if people keep giving him abuse constantly throughout the match. Do people honestly think he'll somehow get ousted from the club if the fans keep moaning about him? Svens picking him over Weale for a reason. The only people giving the Weale chants at home games are the people who are still clinging on to Mr Pearsons agenda, the same people who demand Berner to start every week, and look what happened on Saturday, he was gash. Some of us have still got belief in the team, and want us to win as many of these final games as possible. Just imagine the situation if Ricardo left because of our fans, and then the week Weale comes back in as first choice keeper, he makes the screw up of the century, or he gets injured and is out for 6 months, seriously what would we do then? I'd be surprised if we could find another keeper who would want to come to the club whilst Weales here after the way Ricardo's been treated.

I can't remember the last time a player came to this club and the majority said "eh, he's alright I suppose". It's either 'incredible' or 'fvcking shit, get rid'. Usually the latter, if not at first then after a couple of below par performances.
AyewJoking Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Its just the fans voicing their opinion. They are within their rights in doing so. In the long run, booing/jeering a player does no good but Sven has clearly made Ricardo promises that he would be no.1 in order to get the guy to sign for Leicester in the first place! Sven should be honest about that and take the flak. Then maybe Ricardo will improve.

IMO he's playing Ricardo because he suits the kind of way he wants us to play more than Weale does. Sven wouldn't promise anything, same as with the loan players. Anyway, the fans should be getting behind anyone who walks out of that tunnel in a City shirt, end of. Booing a player is so narrow-minded its crazy, but then again, these are Leicester fans we're talking about.
kyle09uk Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Agree totally... Really not feeling positive with Ricardo between the sticks but I feel even less confident with the crowd booing our own player... The keeper already has enough pressure from his expectations, opposite teams, commanding his area and how important the games are, especially at the moment. And then to have your own fans turn against you... wow, i do feel for the bloke. All in all remain positive and support every single player to wear our shirt and... thats our job done. The rest is down to the ones wearing it.
Drift Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Good to see some sense being spoken in this thread. Sven's the guy who signed and is picking him, so it's his responsibility. Ricardo has come here and is working to the best of his ability. You could see on Tuesday night after he let the penalty in just how annoyed and disappointed he was. I genuinely think he's working hard and he's fully behind the team. You can't knock that. Sure, he takes a few risks, but he's also pulled off some decent saves since he's been here.
Itsthejoeker Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Next time someone starts a Weale chant, start an even bigger, louder, Ricardo chant
Adster Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Wouldn't worry about it - there's no chance he'll start Would you lend me your crystal ball please? I want to know the lottery numbers for Saturday.
nothin2seehere Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Wouldn't worry about it - there's no chance he'll start Eh? What's changed?
Houdini Logic Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Would you lend me your crystal ball please? I want to know the lottery numbers for Saturday. I'll start suffixing all of my posts with IMO.
Mack Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 I fully agree booing players whilst they are playing for the team is counter productive. I have never done it, and never ever would. I may think the bloke is a liability and express that view here, but I would never voice that view loudly at a game.
Bert Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 From the East stand on Tuesday, the third goal looked like it went through his hands. None of us even thought it had took a deflection.
B52 Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 From the East stand on Tuesday, the third goal looked like it went through his hands. None of us even thought it had took a deflection. Are you planning a public excuse to Ricardo?
acooling08 Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Are you planning a public excuse to Ricardo? I was in the East stand too. To us it looked like he just let it trickle through his legs. Only after did we know it was deflected. Felt bad afterwards. Never booed him though.
dannythefox Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 We all might be behind Ricardo if hes in the goal infornt!
shailen Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Sven is picking him so instead of giving him stick, lets build his confidence up with a song or chant that doesnt involve weale !
