Babylon Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 facts, can't argue with them Forgot Davies, he was only here a few months so a couple of hundred k for him also.
cc_star Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 You don't learn do you. Joint 4th and three points from the top, taking over a demoralised team taking over hammerings every week. Without a preseason, without a summer transfer window... and you think that's a bad result so far with quite a few games to go? Oh and once again, it said THE OWNERS HAVE INVESTED £10m INTO THE CLUB, NOT THEY HAVE SPENT £10m ON PLAYERS. Stop saying he has spent £10m because quite clearly he bloody hasn't. Did he buy Waghorn, did he buy Abe, Moussa, and the other misfits Sousa bought in. Did Sven also tell the owners to pay off Sousa and all his backroom team. Even if Yakubu was on £50k a week (denied by someone who knows the players) And we pay him for 5 months that would only come to £1m. There is no way the likes of Mee, Van, Bruma, Cunningham are on more than £10k (so £800,000 for them), Naughton might be on a bit more than that possibly (so £800k of him over the season). Bednar and Kirkland no more than a couple of 100k. Even if you paid £200k for each of the long term ones as a fee you'd still be looking at under £1.5m in fees (plus it's known the more they play the less the clubs get in fees). The only fee paid out was for Bamba and that was peanuts and Vassell won't be on huge sums coming off the scrap heap in turkey This is all before you even take into account the fact we got over £1m for Fryatt, £250k for Morrison. Their wages off the books along with Hobbs and some from other loan players. It IS known that fees Sven has paid are ridiculous With regards to your signings point... Of course he didn't bring in Sousa's misfits, that's pretty obvious isn't it Instead he bought in 408 defenders, who ARE quality footballers but.... none of whom look like they can defend - sure they can pass, but to the majority of people that is of secondary importance to keeping a fecking clean sheet more often than not. The team has no passion, I say team, because they don't play like one it's just a bunch of semi-talented individuals running around. For some reason they keep going out on to the pitch & giving lacklustre performance after lacklustre performance, which is hardly surprising given Sven's treatment of of some players - just because YOU'RE happy with people not trying, it doesn't mean everyone has to be. He has zero motivation skills, he has no plan B which makes me wonder how tactically sound he is, he's picking a formation which might work for Ivory Coast, but hasn't worked for us since half-time at Derby and above all he knows less than ****-all about team spirit & enthusiasm - which (in this division more than in the Prem etc) matters 10,000 times more than picking a player who once in a blue moon might make a killer pass leading to a goal.
somebum Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 well said cc_star, I was pointing out these facts the minute Sven was linked here in the first place.
phillthefox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I cannot believe people are questioning sven, when he took over we were bottom ...... since then we have climbed the table and only 5 points from playoffs, plus hes a world class manager .... but heres an idea lets get him out and bring in some chimp like allen or megson cos they were ace.. the loanees are here to improve us if we dont go up and they dont sign we will have the summer to improve the squad...... IN SVEN WE TRUST :sge: :sge: :sge:
somebum Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 plus hes a world class manager . What exactly is he doing here again?
acooling08 Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I hate all this 'Sven took us from bottom' talk. Sven took over a team that was 4th the season before and was taken off track by Sousa. Any decent manger could of got us playing well again.. the players that got us to the play offs are still here!!
The Doctor Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I hate all this 'Sven took us from bottom' talk. Sven took over a team that was 4th the season before and was taken off track by Sousa. Any decent manger could of got us playing well again.. the players that got us to the play offs are still here!! This may sound absurd but the team from last year weren't/aren't neccessarily good enough to be managing anything more than lower-mid table. It can't really be proven eitherway, but the team last year came into the league with momentum, which carried them towards the top, and as success begets success they continued to (possibly) punch well above their weight - whether pearson stayed or not we were going to see what that team was made of this season, with Play-off disappointment to bounce back from and not entering the league with momentum. It's possible that what we saw under sousa was a glimpse of that squads actual ability, exaggerated by an apparently poor pre-season regime.
Babylon Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 It IS known that fees Sven has paid are ridiculous With regards to your signings point... Of course he didn't bring in Sousa's misfits, that's pretty obvious isn't it No it's known we paid a signing fee for naughton of around £200/£250 as Warnock said so. And it's known we paid a fee to Chelsea for their kids, but the fee gets reduced every game they play. What the fee was to start with nobody knows. Could you please post these facts you seem to have that nobody else does about loan fees please. If you don't have them, stop going on about them. Oh and if it's so obvious that Sousas signings are not Svens, why do you keep saying Sven has spent £10m when he quite clearly hasn't? Not sure what the rest of it has to do with my post. All sounds like someone whose argument has been blown out of the water once more. Also, could you please tell me where I've said I'm happy about players not trying, would really like to know..... Or are you just exaggerating everything again to try and make your points look a bit better. £10m spent, 408 defenders, people saying this they haven't etc.
Babylon Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I hate all this 'Sven took us from bottom' talk. Sven took over a team that was 4th the season before and was taken off track by Sousa. Any decent manger could of got us playing well again.. the players that got us to the play offs are still here!! Well going off his results so far Sven has got us to joint 4th (same as last year), three points off top spot. Without a pre season, without a summer transfer window, without experience in this league, taking over a team devoid of confidence and low on fitness. Yeah he's had some backing, and he's made what might be mistakes, but anyone with a half rational brain can see that weighing everything up he ain't done a bad job at all. The people being overly negative have been since day one. Their minds were made up and nothing that happens will change that.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I think almost anyone with an idea about football could have gathered the players Sven has and achieved what we have this season. Yes I know he brings players in due to his experience and name, but seriously he isn't the man to drag us out of this league. His motivation plan is to tell the players they are better than their opposition, he tells them this before a game, and if we are losing at HT he tells them we can beat them cus we are a better side. He doesn't tell them how to achieve this. I know this thru one very unhappy player who was very surprised to find himself on the bench yesterday. We're struggling lads, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to wake up.

What people are saying is you can't take the last 5 games and take that as a measure of the whole season.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I swear alot of the Sven hating is down to preconceived ideas of him conjured up by the media when he was England manager which was a load of sensationalised rubbish churned out to sell rags. Probably also a bit of xenophobia, if he'd been a young British manager and got us into the position we are now from the start we had I'm sure people would be throwing the plaudits around.
Zingari Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Anyone who witnessed the fans turning on both Matt Gillies and Jimmy Bloomfield after a few poor results won't be surprised that he has his critics . But I think football fans are pretty much the same at every club
m00nie Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 its not about hating sven.... its just seeing that some of his decisions have cost us and saying so.. he gets the praise when things are going good so why shouldnt he get questioned when things are going bad
21st Century Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 its not about hating sven.... its just seeing that some of his decisions have cost us and saying so.. he gets the praise when things are going good so why shouldnt he get questioned when things are going bad I agree, but that isn't what alot of people are doing. No ones saying Sven shouldn't be held accountable but I for one don't agree with the people claiming that he isn't fit to manage us and blindly forgetting he hasn't even had a proper season with us yet.

Corky Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I hate all this 'Sven took us from bottom' talk. Sven took over a team that was 4th the season before and was taken off track by Sousa. Any decent manger could of got us playing well again.. the players that got us to the play offs are still here!! He has, actually. We've hit a poor run of form, which every team has during a season. Unfortunately, unlike last season, we don't have anything to fall back on.

Jacnah Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 This is not a 'Sven Out' campaign However, there has been a lot of crap posted on here over the past few weeks about how magical Sven is and automatic promotion is possible etc... (see 'The Sven Revolution' for a particularly biased account..) Sven concerns me at the moment as it COULD be he is taking the club in the wrong direction. Selling Morrison, loaning out Hobbs and Schlupp, bringing-in Ricardo and the Yak. Dropping Vittor and playing Bruma today.... the list of strange decisions is becoming longer. On the plus side, Naughton is superb in my opinion, BUT I don't think he'll stay. Is Sven still being seen as a Prize or a plonker? A magician or a court jester? Is he taking the club forward or are we actually getting rid of our better longer-term assets? Discuss please **** off!!
rico Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 i wonder if the Forest fans still want Billy Davies after the shocking form they've been in
accessory Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 i wonder if the Forest fans still want Billy Davies after the shocking form they've been in Different scenario - Davies has been whinging for the past year about the lack of financial backing he's had from the Forest boardroom.
