Guest Col city fan Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 But what don't you like - that he lost some games? What worries you - that he hasn't got a good enough track record? What on earth led anyone to believe that he could get us up this season (and I'm not sure the season is over yet) - the fact we were even contemplating play offs up to yesterday seems to not amaze anyone or did you not look at the league table after 9 games? Probably too many 'nots' in that but hey ho you get the message - so we lost by one goal to the team in in fourth place, second place, the leaders and the team with the strongest defence in the league. Does this make us terrible? It's a bad run but get over it - you don't need to be over optimistic any more than you need to run Sven out of town every time we don't win 7-0. PS, I know we lost 2-0 to Cardiff I put them in the OP mate... not sure about his tactics (seem very one-dimensional), his recent team selections and the loaning of the Yak whilst letting Hobbsy, Morrison go... just concerns, doesnt make him a bad manager...

PS, I know we lost 2-0 to Cardiff so with the money we spent, and getting to 7th at one point we should be happy if it all just slides away now?? we should have capitalized on the other results going our way on a couple of occasions but we didnt, and sven has to take some of the flack for that because hes the manager, he tinkled with the team, formation, he didnt motivate the players etc..

Well we are a mammoth 2 pts of 7th place now so obviously some major concerns....................................... if we win the next 3 he'll be the messiah again

It would be nice to beat the top teams but if you're auntie's bollocks are anything to go by we can only judge on what we know - we are averaging almost 2 points a game since xmas and if we can keep that going to the end of the season 73 pts might be enough for a play off place. If we rediscover the form we had up to the recent slump (Cardiff onwards) from xmas and average 2.75 points per game that would give us 77 pts - more than enough - these are facts - support your local Swedish Manager and it might just happen
Corky Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 He manages an inconsistent football team- we were good at home, bad away until the New Year, then suddenly strong both home and away, now we're struggling at home and away. It was a tough job this season getting us towards the play-offs. Let's see how he does next season with a full pre-season and hopefully not too many short-term fixes.
accessory Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Sven is rated as one of the best managers in the world Why, when the dross witnessed at the last 3 home games has been as bad as anything seen in the Levein, Kelly or Holloway eras?
lcfcsnow Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Why, when the dross witnessed at the last 3 home games has been as bad as anything seen in the Levein, Kelly or Holloway eras? Don't be daft, in some games under those we didn't even have a shot on goal until the last 5 minutes, and struggled to put two passes together. We're playing poorly but still creating lots of chances, we must have missed 6 guilt edge chances on Saturday.
Brown Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Why, when the dross witnessed at the last 3 home games has been as bad as anything seen in the Levein, Kelly or Holloway eras? Stupidest post I've seen on here.
accessory Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Stupidest post I've seen on here. If you say so Ulrika..
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Fans need to realise the players used to get us off the bottom were the ones sousa had. Svens signings have had little impact, with the exception of bamba. My point is, any fan couldve selected the team sven was selecting when he first started out-after all it was pretty much the same 11 as last season. Its svens tinkering thats done us
Houdini Logic Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 why has the sub been vassel for dyer persistantley. When it should be for the yak, especially the last two home games. we are too rigid and hence predictable. Best look to next season now. I hope I am wrong!! To be fair - that decision seriously fooks me off every time
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Edit-so just because he got us off the bottom doesnt mean anything. If we were bottom at this point in the season and then he salvaged us then thats different. I dont want to wait til the summer to see sven make his mark on the team if the players hes brought in so far are anything to go by
Babylon Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Edit-so just because he got us off the bottom doesnt mean anything. If we were bottom at this point in the season and then he salvaged us then thats different. So being bottom them is different to being bottom now? How so exactly, other than more games having gone by.

Vassell was good during our purple patch when played up front.
jamesmilner Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 sven has no oomph in him , he has done the best he can , he isn't the man for this job . sven isn't what you think he is , he has not one iota of cutting edge in him at all .he has been found out too easily ,he has no plan A never mind plan B . SEASON OF ROLLERCOASTER RIDES TO SAY THE LEAST FOR US .not over yet tho.
Christoph Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 I dont no how anyone can bad mouth Sven considering what hes done. Give him one full season and then see how he does.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Sorry forgot about naughton. I was thinking primarily of ricardo yak and vassell. Yaks playing on the off chance hel do something magical like he did against derby. Mee though usually ok was woeful on saturday, and berner wouldve been the better option. As for the other bloke asking about being bottom- of course its different if we were bottom now, theres what, 8 games to go? With the squad we had we were never realistically gonna go down-once sousa had left! No-one pays attention to the tables in october time. All sven had to do was put the players in their correct positions- something that anyone who watched us play last season couldve done. We know from his time at england that he has his favourites. Thats the same here. As someone rightly said on the phone in after pompey, theres no competition for places. How can there be when vitor gets dropped. Or ricardo at fault again on saturday keeps his place? It doesnt make sense. This isnt me saying svens got to go before anyone twists owt. Hes just gotta be much more open minded. World class (whether current or in the past) does not guarentee a winning team. Given the choice id rather have the starting 11 from this time last season than this season

The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Where did we finish last season? Where will we finish this season? We came within a frenchmans boot of going up last season I reckon

Given the choice id rather have the starting 11 from this time last season than this season What about Bednar and Kirkland who Sven realised weren't up to par and sent them back? Vassell was one of the best players on the pitch yesterday (though I do wish Sven would stick him back in the middle - a la Man City). Sven must see something in Ricardo and the Yak, and being that they've only been here for a several games I think we should have a little bit of faith in what Sven sees every day.
