Fabio Capello has named his squad to face Wales and Ghana.

Fabio Capello has named a squad of 26 players to face Wales and Ghana, with a first call-up for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matthew Jarvis.

Kyle Walker retains his place in the defensive ranks following his first senior call last month for the game against Denmark. Phil Jagielka returns to the squad along with Aaron Lennon and Andy Carroll, all three players missed the game in Copenhagen.

For Carroll it is his first return to the England squad following his move to Liverpool, the 22-year-old forward made his debut against France last November and recently returned from injury to make his first appearances for the Anfield club.

Squad in full (alphabetical by position)

Ben Foster, Robert Green, Joe Hart;

Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Kyle Walker;

Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Matthew Jarvis, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young;

Darren Bent, Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney.

Good to see Jarvis get a call. Would be nice if this was the squad as Capello wanted it, rather then just being the one he's forced to pick. You know once the old guard are fit again they'll walk back in, no matter how shit they are playing.

He still persists with Gareth fooking Barry.

Apart from that, great for Jarvis, he really deserves that call up this year.

I hate Stuart Downing. :/

Scott Sinclair deserves a crack ahead of him, he's been awesome this season albeit in the Championship.

I think there are a few players in the squad who's inclusion I would question ahead of his. Aaron Lennon for one. He might be quick he couldn't deliver a letter. Downing is the best, fit, left winger we have and can deliver a decent cross, always useful to have in the squad.

Would like to see Muamba get a call up soon instead of Barry.

Really hoping he plays Wilshere and Lennon.

Yeah agreeing with Spiderpig.

If he was prepared to drop down a division for Jay Bothroyd, there's a few others he should be looking at in the Championship ahead of some of those big name players.

Lescott?!? The guy has all the skill and co ordination of a blind quadraplegic alcholic who's been taking speedballs all weekend.

Amazed at his continual inclusion.

Decent squad going into the games against Wales and Ghana.

I would go with the team below for the Wales game.

Hart

Johnson Terry Jagielka Cole

Lennon Lampard Wilshire Young

Crouch Rooney

Good to see an England manager spice things up a little bit but Andy Carroll's gotten in there on pricetag alone lol.

Don't understand the Lennon hate, though. Against us you're not just going to be playing a traditional, English 4 - 4 - 2 relying on crosses for headers, are you? A bit of pace and skill will terrify our back four / five.

Might also keep Bale pegged back in a defensive position helping whoever starts behind him. Last thing England will want is Bale running at Johnson.

Exactly. Which makes it all the more remarkable that Richards isn't being given a chance.

Wilshere and Lampard sitting in front of the back four is a recipe for disaster too. If Lampard's to play we've got to play a full on 4-3-3 with Rooney as the central striker. If we play a 4-2-3-1 with Rooney in the centre of the '3' (which I'm almost certain is what we'll see) we need an anchor man as one of the two - and neither Lampard nor Wilshere is up to the job.

Five Spurs players is pretty good going, considering we've got Tom Huddlestone, Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate all out injured.

I wonder how long it will be before Kyle Naughton gets the nod?

I'd sooner see Danny Welbeck get promoted from the U-21s than see Peter Crouch in an England shirt, and why Capello hasn't seemed to consider the likes of Liam Ridgwell / Roger Johnson over Lescott shows his reluctance to drop a few 'big' names. Same applies to Barry.

Pleased for Jarvis, though, banged him in an 'Alternate England XI' I did on here a fair while back now, well deserved.
