King had more chance of playing for wales then england...and i dont believe he isnt good enough.for the PL. They played him out wide on left...i was surprised they dint put ledley there! I still believe apart from bellamy, he was good as any welsh player! Madness to doubt his quality! We all know what he can do!

So what? LargeAl was born in England but that doesn't stop him hating us English bastards. I'm sure if he had the chance he'd play for Scotland. Just because you were born in England does not mean you should represent that country.

no i wasn't, i was born in coventry.

Now then, having taken a swipe at coventry, i completely agree that you shouldn't have to represent the country in which you were born, i'd only qualify to represent scotland on the granny rule but i'd still choose scotland over england if given the choice.

Trust me,you wont play for England or Scotland mate.So there is no choice for you to make. :giggle:

So people are moaning that our most promising player is trying to improve himself as a player? The whole experience of today will have done wonders for him, in the long run. How many people were slagging him off all the other times he played for Wales? The only people that are a disgrace are them slagging off King.

Time to grow up, lads.

My conclusion from today is that Gary Speed is a bloody awful manager. Was 99% sure this morning, now i'm certain.

Unlucky for Kingy that his manager thinks he's a winger (on both flanks). And no, that's not the only reason i think Speed is terrible.

The fact he was given the job of managing an international side on the back of just 18 games experience made it a bizarre appointment to begin with.

Exactly Bert, he's made himself available to Wales, he gets picked and plays when selected.

He'll play against big nations which will enhance his development and hopefully make him a better player, which is good news for us.

think there was only one who was singling out king. and to be fair if he feels this way about something then why should he change it just because one of our players comes into it..

i myself think its more of the allowance of it itself, i feel you should play for your nationality, its too easy bypassed with distant relatives etc..

so why has said poster only kicked up about it now? He's played for Wales a few times now. Surely king representing Wales against England is no different from King representing Wales against any other nation.

maybe its been more highlighted now due to the fact its england?

ive not been around long but cant recall seeing big threads on previous welsh games

Why is the traitor King playing for a team in Leicestershire if he wasn't born there?

If you're allowed to improve your game and career by playing for a club that isn't your home town then why not apply the same to international games, as long as there's link, however tenuous?

what do you call your home town though ?? people move all the time.. yet your nationality will remain the same

You home town is where you are born and raised, mine will always be Leicester no matter where I live.

Perfect example; my mother who was born and raised in the Black Country but now lives in Leicester always says "going over home" when we head that way.

but not everyone is born and raised in the same place, some people can move alot whilst young..

and what if you was born in sheffield? or manchester etc? how would you define which club you could only play for..

where as nationality you will always have the one so should be that one you play for

im sorry but every one slagging king off for playing for wales......but wasnt muzzy izzet born in england and played for turkey? did any of you have a problem with that?

Can't understand how anyone could slag him off! Any way I thought he played well concidering it's not his natural position, Ramsey would have been better there and king in the middle, he probs would have done a better job! I thought ledley and Ramsey where poor tbh! I gave king a 7 out of 10 mostly down to speed's selection! Kingy has a bright future!

Giggs was never eligible to play for England, Jus' sayin'.

Pretty sure he was. You become eligible to play for a country after you've lived there for years.

Naa he wasn't..

Its all about your ancestory (right word ?)..

That's where the problem is in my opinion.they allow it too easy. Your grand dads sisters aunt cousin is different

Nationality so you can play for them instead of your own.

Let's face it England are not a dominant force and Wales are floundering badly with little direction. However, in the second half Bellamy and King started to show some brain power and with more time may have made a difference. Give the manager a break he clearly saw that he had to change to trying this. King did exactly as he was told and stayed out on the wing. I hope he becomes a fixture in the team and not in this type of role.

Technically, he would be today - but by the time they changed the rules he'd already retired from internationals. They only added the exception of "going to X years of school" as one of the eligability criteria for which part of the UK you can represent a couple of years back. Only player I can think of that's used that so far is Andy Dorman

Arteta and Almunia are now both eligible to play for England....
