Championship Referees

Recommended Posts

This is the second match running where the referees have obviously been on the other teams side. Do they have it in for Leicester or something? It makes me angry when they can't do the job they are employed to do!!

there are a few good ref's I've seen in the championship this season, but most have been bloody shocking..... :frusty:

most ppl if they do a shite job dont get paid.....not ref's tho...they can ruin a game for millions of ppl and they'll get there monies

Anyone remember when we were getting those 3 or 4 penalties in 5 or 6 games? Something silly like that anyway, I know we went through a spell of getting a fair few penalties in not many matches, and be honest some were soft penalties.

Now i'm not one to praise referees, I hate them, and I don't know how bad the referee was today, pretty bad so I hear but it does do my head in when the first person to blame when things don't go your way is the referee's sometimes this is the case, but I think we should also be looking at our defence to atleast share the blame today.

I'm sorry but do they?!

I've used the 'Most people underperforming at work will get sacked, why don't players' - you could change players to refs I suppose, but people still get paid, I don't think i've ever seen anyone not get paid, I think the employee would have a case to sue the employer if that was the case regardless of where the employee was underperforming/shite/whatever.

at the end of the day the refs are either just shit or they hate leicester. i do love the way kamara gave him a sarcastic hand shake when he was subbed lol

The standard of refereeing over all is terrible.

It's not something specifically directed at us.

And all the time referees are slaughted publicly by players, managers and the media we are never going to get good people into refereeing.

I guess because there is no one else willing to do the job mate.

Like Ferguson said yesterday "Would you want to referee a game? Because I wouldn't."

In the current climate it's a hiding to nothing.

Help them though, They have no help, I slag them off, and get angry with them I don't deny that, but I have to sympathise with them when they are given no help.

I see no problem with a referal system, similar to cricket, you get another official sitting up in a box/touchline/wherever, you give each team 3, 4, whatever amount of referals, they can use this and once the certain amount is over, tough you have no more, it may even clean the game up abit aswell.

I don't care if it 'slows the game down' - Referees blowing their whistle every 5 seconds slows the game down too, I don't care if it 'takes the opinions or discussion out of the game' it'd lower the amount of injustices of results, sending offs, wrong decisions, and personally it wouldn't take the opinions or discussion out of the game.

The ref today was from 'Tyne and Wear', probably a boro' fan, the FA is a joke!

Being from Tyne and Wear then Boro fans were probably worried he would be against them. What you just said was like saying "The ref was from Nottingham, probably a Leicester fan."

The only football I watch is Leicester or a match on tv until today when I decided to watch birstal vs sileby.

Some of the abuse and comments that young ref got was unreal from players and both managers. Funny moment was the birstal manager being sent off for one to many comments. Normally they would go to the stand but being no stand he just shuffled a few feet to his right and was still just as close to the pitch as he was before being sent off. I might start going down there more often.

I really do despair at people over the age of about 12 that blame referees for results.

A ref can change a match on occasion, but if you find yourself laying the blame with the referee any more often then there is without doubt some reason as to why it "keeps happening" to you and not anyone else.

I'm getting in to refereeing :)

I can assure you all that it's not just Leicester that get dog shit refs.

I thought it was a deserved sending off for you yesterday. He's had enough time to realise that you can't go flying in for tackles like that now.

Well then you are wrong. I believe he was sent off for "excessive force", not dangerous play or even a foul. Is there a speed limit when it comes to going for a loose ball? Chris was never anywhere near contact with the player and was even ahead of the ball when he blocked it.
