Are they really that unhelpful?

Just before the 2nd home game of the season, my mate and I took our 13 away stubs in to get priority one tickets for this season, We were both given the yellow slip you get etc and have ordered several times on P1 days with no problems whatsoever. Today though, one of the birds there informed me that my mate was in fact priority 3- somehow, so therefore couldnt buy his ticket today.

He rang up and complained, for 45minsm asking to speak to the manager, and then even the managers manager as it were. As my mate rightly said, he's had no trouble at all before and even has the yellow slip given to him by the ticket office! He was told that he would have to come into the TO to get it sorted today in order to buy his ticket next to me. They also told him he may have to reproduce his stubs to prove he actually did have them in the first place! Eventually after kicking off a bit more, he came to a compromise that they would reserve a seat next to me until he can get to the TO tomorrow night and at least show them the yellow slip he has.

My point is, the woman who I won't name really didn't seem interested, or even helpful towards me, Surely once giving his reference number their database must show that he is P1 and also which days he has bought previous away tickets?! Hope they get it sorted for him, because its one thing after another with the TO

I emailed them about posting my Reading ticket asap so it would arrive in time for my flight and they responded within the hour and were very pleasant.

Couldn't even get through on the phone though.

I've never had a problem with any of the staff as for the systems they use well that's another story they've been crap for years and are now worse than they've ever been buying I've rarely found buying tickets from them trouble free, even now I can't order anything online, email ordering has disappeared and they still don't seem to keep any record of the away tickets you buy. So many problems.

if it matters at all. the guy on the desk who served me for palace tickets today looked like he wanted to gauge my eyes out. he was not having a good time, which seemed strange because i was the only person in there. no que or anything.

"oh you are paying with card are you?" **long sigh**

(usually they are ok with me though)

Not surprised they are always a bit jumpy about selling Forest tickets in strict order of priority. Hopefully will have no trouble getting mine in the morning as mine are all priority one.

Was she a oldish women and have brownish colour hair? If so she done the same to Me, my dad, my mate and uncle for Cardiff semi final away tickets. We all had the yellow P1 ticket however she goes "your on the system as a P3, this isn't your card" when it has our names onit? Yeah ok mate whatever. She wasn't going to serve us the tickets untill my dad asked for the manager the she quickly back tracked and served them us.

Couldnt tell you as I spoke on the phone. Perhaps see her tomorrow when we go in.

I understand with it being a local derby, if he was p3 he'd have to wait. But I bet if she looked in to it herself there must be records somewhere

I've only ever had to go into the ticket office to sort a problem out once, and that was because I'd forgot my season ticket. Weren't very helpful though

I think I know who you mean. She did the same thing to me when I wanted to exchange a season ticket voucher for a ticket for another game, I knew I could do this but she denied it several times before saying 'well you can, but yo have to pay the difference of 4 quid.'

There seems to be only one person there who has an attitude. I think she's quite high up in ticket office staff terms as well.

As someone who is a P3 and has never had to get a yellow slip the thing I find most ridiculous is the whole yellow slip thing. Surely the computer system should just tell the operator how many away games you have been to in the last 12 months?

I thought they were good and even gave me a discount as they were shocked i was an Aussie who was supporting Leicester.

Might be giving that accent a try then!

I agree wih the one caller during yesterday's phone-in.

The telephone system needs replacement.

Too often, you're caught in the loop for too long, without any indication about progressing or updates on your status in the line.

For important games or the ones with high demand, such as the Cardiff playoff games last May, waiting times of up to 40-45 minutes were the rule.

Other than that, I think the people at the ticket office are mostly really helpful when you go see them in person (although sometimes, some can have an off-day).

My personal tutor at University emailed the ticket office confirming that I'd be at Uni again next year and they still won't refund the difference in price until September when I go back.

Can't help but think every club has exactly the same problems though.

I recieved a call from a woman at the ticket office the other day (who I have to say was really friendly) and she was asking me questions like what I thought to our season, what I thought about Sven, who's my favourite player, will we make the play offs etc. Then she went on to say she was my ticket liason officer as they want to get a closer relationship with lcfc fans and that I could ring her on the number she gave me and she could get me tickets!!! really random!!

Same problem for me, you at DMU?

Some people managed to get student season tickets with the same letter that I got rejected with so it looks like it's all down to who serves you.

I found out that our results get published in July so we might be able to get refunded earlier than expected. I ****ing hope so too!

Went in today and the office was empty of customers with two peeps at the kiosks and others mulling around and no one wanted to serve me, a lady in her twenties who i think was a senior staff member then told the staff to serve me and to keep quiet since they were all talking at once.

After a minute the lady who had asked the others to serve me then opened a third kiosk and served me herself and then asked the other staff to serve another customer who had just walked in, he was left waiting to.

The ticket office yet again came across as extremely amateurish and it really needs to be sorted out.
