Foxes Dealt Bamba Blow

Posted on: Mon 18 Apr 2011City defender Sol Bamba will miss both of the Foxes' fixtures over the Easter weekend through injury, manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed.

The Ivory Coast international sustained a hamstring strain in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Reading, forcing him to be substituted 11 minutes into the second half at the Madejski Stadium.

The 26-year-old centre-back is now expected to be out for at least a fortnight while he recovers.

Eriksson said: "Sol has damaged his hamstring and I am told by the physio it will be at least two weeks, although he will have a scan and we will know more then.

"It is a blow as Sol has been very good for us."

Bamba has been an ever-present for City since his January arrival from Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, making 18 appearances and scoring three goals.

The Foxes travel to Nottingham Forest on Good Friday before hosting Watford on Easter Monday in a weekend crucial to their hopes of reaching the Championship play-offs.

I hope it'll be Vitor and Mee in the middle then.

But more likely Vitor/Bruma.

Yup. It'll have to be because with Naughton, PVA, Kamara and Yakubu, it only leaves space for one more domestic loanee in the matchday squad.

All the more reason to play Berner and stick Vitor and Mee in the middle.

Won't happen though but it'll be interesting to see how Bruma is with Vitor.

Vitor is so calm and collected and it might relax JB more. Still, we'll see.

That's the impression I got when they were together on saturday.

scapegoat

Say that all you like, but I'm still going to maintain that Bamba generally looks solid while playing as RCB alongside Mee, while Bruma has not only not looked reassuring so far, barring his QPR performance, but threw away 2 points by getting 2 ridiculous yellow cards. Perhaps I'm not as fickle as Leicester fans that hailed Bamba as the messiah and are now slating him on the back of a few dodgy performances.

I'm annoyed because I want to see the Bamba/Mee partnership back, or Vitor/Bamba with mee as LB. But hey, if that's scapegoating, then sue me. Unless you have a response other then a generic picture....

Naughton, Bruma, PVA, Mee, Kamara, Yakubu.

leave Bruma out and have Moreno on the bench then, explains why Mee wasn't in the squad on Saturday too

Not gonna happen.

I swear you live in cuckoo land.

Did anyone else think Vitor was refusing to pass to bruma on Saturday?

This is a blessing in disguise, Vitor - Mee please

we only have 5 domestic loanees anyway don't we so Mee and Vitor would be the best ballance to the back 4

6 (PVA, Naughton, Mee, Bruma, Kamara, Yak)

If we are going to play PVA, Naughton, Kamara and the yak then we have to choose on of mee or bruma.
