Walkers Wench Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I really hope not. It just doesn't sit easy with me. I'm well aware that we all make mistakes,,,,and regret them,,,,but 14 convictions for violent and sexual crimes? I'm a mum who takes her two boys as season ticket holders to the games,,,they idolise and worship anyone who wears a blue shirt. Kind of bloke i want my kids to worship, respect and look up to? I think not.
Ambitious Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 The fans wouldn't want him anyway, 1 being ex Coventry, 2 having a history for hitting women, and I know from growing up in Leicester that 95% of males in the area despise women beaters.
Corky Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 The fans wouldn't want him anyway, 1 being ex Coventry, 2 having a history for hitting women, and I know from growing up in Leicester that 95% of males in the area despise women beaters. I don't think the Coventry connection is an issue, as many would like to see Westwood in our goal next season.
Babylon Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 So a man has 14 convictions.. like already said some for violent sexual crimes and yet he will turn on the smiles and handshakes for a couple of hours for a meeting with Sven and thats it, all forgotten he's a nice bloke again lets sign him... Anyone can turn on the smiles for a two hour meeting. that is not a good indication of how nice a person is at all. Really? Wow thanks for pointing that out. May as well not bother seeing him and questioning him on his past, trying to find out if he's sorry, what he's done/is doing to change. You sure as shit aren't going to learn anything about him NOT seeing him. If it was impossible to gain information from a one on one meeting people wouldn't bother with interviews. They would just look at the best CV and give someone a job. Much can be gained from a face to face meeting where you are doing the question asking. And whilst not trying to make light of what he did (obviously wrong, hence his conviction), in the girls own words he groped her bum. So lets not make the guy out to be a rapist.

I'm a mum who takes her two boys as season ticket holders to the games,,,they idolise and worship anyone who wears a blue shirt. Kind of bloke i want my kids to worship, respect and look up to? I think not. The convictions are for speeding, driving a stolen car and 1 for violent and sexual assault, but he does have an arrest for chasing 2 women with a belt around his fist.
Ambitious Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I don't think the Coventry connection is an issue, as many would like to see Westwood in our goal next season. Nah this mans much better >>>>
hackneyfox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I do think people are getting too irate over someone who would be a footballer on the pitch, not someone who is being forced into your home for Sunday tea. Now 'calm down, calm down'. Being a good footballer doesn't excuse beating women, there are certain standards that I'd expect from anyone who plays for Leicester, this man falls well short. Lee Hughes has at least accepted responsibility and apologised, would you accept him at the club?
Babylon Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 but he does have an arrest for chasing 2 women with a belt around his fist. Really? Ha, didn't know that one... what was his excuse? He's a part time belt salesman.
hackneyfox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 He's a full time coont. From giving co* a hard time over this I know exactly what he's like.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 i dont care what anyone says, the bloke knows how to score goals at this level and thats what we need to get out this leauge. yes hes an absolute **** but everybody has a past, if he joined and scored as prolifically as he is doing at the minute (11 in 12) nobody can complain as long as he stays out of trouble. nobody would have turned down tony adams, george best, duncan ferguson & joey barton in their prime and they've all been to jail.
tylesta Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 The fans wouldn't want him anyway, 1 being ex Coventry, 2 having a history for hitting women, and I know from growing up in Leicester that 95% of males in the area despise women beaters. i doubt the 95% mark....

Are you talking out of your backside again? (unless you can back this up........) Deary me.
tylesta Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 also didn't jaime lawrence recive a 4 year prison sentence for armed robbery before joining us?
TheUltimateWinner Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I want stephen henderson from Bristol city, young and bags of potential. Free too :-)
MPH Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Nah this mans much better >>>> easy safe. it was a perfect height. all he needed to do was stick his hand out. didnt need to dive to get there or anything.
acooling08 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 King is clearly scum and I wouldn't be able to celebrate when he scored.
hackneyfox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 nobody would have turned down tony adams, george best, duncan ferguson & joey barton in their prime and they've all been to jail. It's a matter of what you've done time for, try reading up on it.

So lets not make the guy out to be a rapist. no one made him out to be a rapist. did i once use that word? i think you'll find the answer is no It may be worth point out he has had other allegations of sexual offences but i dont think they were proven. Normally i would say innocent until proven guilty but you have to wonder why allegations of that nature would keep coming up against someone who has the record he does... is he an easy target ? possibly... can he afford a good lawyer who can get him off on technicalities? most definitely.. he's had 13 chances to change and find out if he is sorry what makes you think he is going to start changing now?
Haydos Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 easy safe. it was a perfect height. all he needed to do was stick his hand out. didnt need to dive to get there or anything. Did you actually watch the video?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Hes scum, amazes me that some people actually defend him.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Hes scum, amazes me that some people actually defend him. i dont think anybody is defending him because he's a ****. people would welcome the signing though because he scores for fun in this leauge and we need a goal scorer to get out of it.
hackneyfox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 'Hes scum, amazes me that some people actually defend him. ' They did on the co* board, but at least they'd signed him, you'd think people would want to take the moral high ground while he isn't one of our players.
Brainy Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 also didn't jaime lawrence recive a 4 year prison sentence for armed robbery before joining us? yeah but thats ok, he might not have harmed a woman.
hackneyfox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 i dont think anybody is defending him because he's a ****. people would welcome the signing though because he scores for fun in this leauge and we need a goal scorer to get out of it. It should be about standards and principles, I don't want a woman beater (who has refused to face up to it) playing for us and |I honestly don't see how scoring goals excuses what he gets up to away from the pitch. Just how low are you willing to go to get a decent player, would you sign Lee Hughes if he was banging them in?
