funkyrobot Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 He is no spring chicken, he is a thug, he has a poor goalscoring record. He is low end championship standard and surely Sven should be looking at a younger higher quality striker than this mug. Why are we looking to buy players from f'kin Coventry??
brockmyster Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 He can score goals and if he joined as far im concerened he's served him time and taken his punishment but in any other teams shirt hes a willy puller

You clearly wasn't at our home game then, he ran the show for them and he impressed me a lot. I agree that he isn't a long term solution but I wouldn't mind him here.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 I'd have him, Aslong as sven knows how to handle him. A few birds and I think marlon would be a saint.
Kitchandro Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Would you still think like that if he bagged a hat trick against Forest though? If he bagged a hat trick against Forest and we beat them I'd be pleased we won. I would not be pleased he scored the goals. There are other players who can bag hat tricks in this division, we don't need a scumbag to do it. It's not like we're desperate is it?

I'd say we are all pretty desperate for us to get to the Premier League. If we got him for zero monies, that money saved can be invested in some place else. I don't care if Sven signs Beelzebub himself and he has a Forrest tattoo on his forehead. If he plays for us and scores goals then that gets us to the Premiership, that's fine by me.

If I can't relate to the players on the pitch at all then I might as well support Man U or Chelsea. And even those teams don't have a Marlon King character playing for them (off the top of my head). Football players are heroes for not only kids but people who love football and never had the priveledge to play it at a decent level themselves. King could never be a hero.
Bilbo Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Wow I love how a lot of posters on here think that him pinching a girl's arse and then breaking her nose when she told him to **** off isn't that bad (self defence are you joking?). I'm sure if it was your mrs/sister/friend you would love him being cheered by 30,000 people. I couldn't care less how many goals he scores, I don't want us to sign him.

Don't judge him on one game, at his age his career is a better reflection of his ability than a one off against a backline of relative strangers.
ScouseFox Posted 29 April 2011 Posted 29 April 2011 Don't judge him on one game, at his age his career is a better reflection of his ability than a one off against a backline of relative strangers. His record is 1 in 2 for Coventry this year, and they're gash. Imagine how many he could get with Gally, Wellens et al supplying him.

There's a group of reprobates if I ever saw one. Each and every one of them with their own little scandal behind them. Without mentioning specifics and causes legal issues for FT. Do I really need to mention Ashley Cole, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, & John Terry. I don't know where your barometer of legality and or morality is, but I'd say each one of those individuals have less than shiny halo. Would you turn any of those down should we get to a place where we might sign them? Or is it because Marlon if over playing for Coventry that it makes it even less palatable?

No I don't support the England team for exactly those reasons. I don't relate with those reprobates as you call them. However I don't think any of them are quite the same as Marlon King, as much as I don't like them and as much as they aren't likeable individuals. I don't judge anyone for wanting King to come, but I am against it myself.

In fact anyone who doesn't want King, should ask themselves the same question. As presumably England supporters, where do you draw the line morally and legally, as some of the stories about individuals are pretty turgid and have escaped any punishment whatsoever. Marlon have done his time. Does he not have the opportunity to resurrect his career, surely turning him away or not looking at him as an option (a free one!) is the same as turning away one of the aforementioned Superstars in principle.

Obviously each person that doesn't want King to come to Leicester has looked at what he has done and decided that they don't want a person who can break a girl's nose in their team. For each player it's the same, for me Rooney's escapades makes me think he is a dick but not enough to warrant never wanting him to play for Leicester (as unlikely as it is) / England.

For what its worth.. I would not like Marlon King for the disabled that he is and i absolutely despise the england players you mentioned for the people they are - especially that disabled John Terry. No i wouldnt want him at this club. Will i cheer the england team on at every opportunity? Yes i bloody well will. This country was here before they came on the scene and it will be here when they are long forgotten. Im proud to be English and i will allways cheer the 3 Lions!
kylecoare Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 all i care about is our goals for ratio goes up and goals against goes down, if he helps then bring it on, hes done time if he fuks up in a city shirt ditch him. weve had our share of horror show footballers, up until recently you didnt really hear about their private lives. but in the end of the day a grope, when i was younger i did that all the time, tyo get a girls attention!!!! i know lots that still do, is not sexuall assualt, punching a woman is unforgivable, but hes done time for that, doubt he would be so stupid again , and if he is ditch him
Tom17LCFC Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 is it jusyt me, or is he a complete and utter cvnt????x
Nick Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 is it jusyt me, or is he a complete and utter cvnt????x It's 'jusyt' you.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 We'll be the biggest hive of scum and villainy this side of Mos Eisley if we sign M King.
SMX11 Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 We'll be the biggest hive of scum and villainy this side of Mos Eisley if we sign M King. Well as long as we don't have the cantina band playing at half time I don't care
CityMad Posted 1 May 2011 Posted 1 May 2011 i really dislike the guy! but a 1 in 2 ratio for cov is not bad going at all and imo is the best striker i have seen at the walkers this season (bar tevez but i cant see us getting him on a free) so i would get him in
Bob.For.The.Win. Posted 4 May 2011 Posted 4 May 2011 Don't get me wrong here, the guy is a complete d***head. However he doesn't need reminding of what he has done... Everyone is making a big scene for no reason here! If he comes here then I will support him. Simple as that!
