sdb Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Good old Stringer had us thinking all sorts, but having arguably the biggest club in the world coming to our place is still pretty exciting. So let's all celebrate it here (whilst continuing to slag off Stringer elsewhere). Hopefully a sign of things to come with a big summer ahead!
Adster Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's not 'BIGGER NEWS THAN FERGIE LEAVING MAN UTD', but it's pretty big news and I for one will be getting my tickets ASAP
CloudFox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Agreed. No it may not be as beneficial to the club as a signing or whatever, but it's still pretty huge! 'Twill be great for raising the status of the club, at the very least in Thailand. Plus, potential links with Real Madrid (i.e. Parent/Feeder relationship)? Yes please. I also think this again shows how serious, not to mention committed, Top and the gang are about moving the club forward. You don't sink the amount of money they've probably had to for such a glamour game just for the sake of it--additional proof that they're here for the long run I hope .
lcfc_jme Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's not 'BIGGER NEWS THAN FERGIE LEAVING MAN UTD', but it's pretty big news and I for one will be getting my tickets ASAP Stringer said something like "On a scale of 1 to 10 - 10 being Fergie leaving Man United and 1 being Gallagher wearing some new red boots - where would you put this news?" to Young. If anyone is to blame for the "bigger than Fergie leaving" nonsense, it's Alan Young for his answer to that simple question. Stringer might be an unbelievably biased, over-excitable bellend, but he's done nothing wrong here.
longy Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Will be good to go and see, but they'll absolutely dick on us. And I bet it ends up being Real Madrid Castilla

lcfc_jme Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Did i say anything about it being Stringers fault? No. can't believe you've attained +1 rep for getting your knickers in a twist over nothing. Tremendous. Your post used Young's nonsensical claim, so I quoted it along with what actually happened to help everyone else avoid confusion (as most in the thread it was announced are blaming it on Stringer). I never said YOU specifically blamed Stringer, and why you took offence, I really don't know.

Bring back the foxestalk of '08.

cc_star Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 In addition to playing Arsenal in thailand exciting, and certainly better than playing Shepshed, Hinckley, Barrow town & a few days in northern Norway Just hope the ticket prices are affordable
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Can't believe some people actually thinking this isn't big news
Bert Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Yeah, and bring back the Bert that had inside info with them.
Dames Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 To be honest i don't really care what type of 'glory fan' it attracts because at the end of the day thats still revenue for the club. As mentioned in a previous post its always refreshing to see our team take on one of the best in the world and even if we got promoted we would still rarely see players that have the quality of the likes of Ronaldo, Kaka. It might have been slightly over hyped but people should just stop looking for reasons to complain, the Galacticos are coming to Leicester. Deal. With. It.
Haydos Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Wonder how far this deal stretches...Possible longer term relationship would only be a good thing. On the other hand could just be an expensive one off tie. Either way it's something to look forward to, great to hear.

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 A sold out crowd at the walkers stadium against one of the biggest clubs in the world Not 'massive' news but it is deffinatly up there what a way to have your last pre season game with and we will also get to see some 'top signings wearing the blue shirt' Getting my tickets A.S.A.P

Expensive one off tie i would assume, wouldn't of thought a club like of our small structure would have much to offer Real anything
Haydos Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Expensive one off tie i would assume, wouldn't of thought a club like of our small structure would have much to offer Real anything Yeah i'd imagine so too, wishful thinking though. You never know with the ambitions of the owners and Sven at the helm though. They might not mind sending a couple of kids on loan if he's in charge.
Corky Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's a friendly where we could get a big crowd in, bringing in good revenue, possibly helping towards a transfer budget. Good decision.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Interesting news, but hardly massive. A good move by the Thais, and a great crowd puller, I have to ad I look forward more to seeing what new players will be on show for us..

Ronaldo, the friendly is part of the deal, they would only sell if they could have a friendly at our place. Ronaldo will play one half for each team.

Yeah, should attract a few new fans, sell some new shirts, etc. It's all good. As long as we've a Heskey - Yak/Kam front line battling away at Pepe and Ramos i'm happy.
21st Century Fox Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I look forward to the comments on here after the match... "We shud be beating teams like Real, Sven has lost the plot".
