bald reynard Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 So if we don't sign Maynard what are his alternatives? Because i am scratching my head trying to think. Saying that getting players to drop down to this level is probably Sven's biggest obstacle Billy Sharp.
Redski Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I wasn't suggesting he was buying success via the stadium just that he was funding a stadium for bcfc out of gist on pocket. No finance, rent, mortgage, loans or debt associated to the stadium unlike arsenal, man city, coventry, cardiff etc...
I am Rod Hull Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Thought you said you were fed up of this thread? feel free to move on if you are. It will appear in the Leicester City forum section if we sign him.... I thought there was breaking news and we`d signed him but i see thats not true.. Lets go for 3,000
Father Ted Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Am I the only one who has had enough of this saga and wants us to take back Yakubu instead?

This stadium.... it was first 'announced' about 4 years ago.... but no date yet given for construction... what makes you so sure it will happen?
The Don Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 I cant be bothered any more. Keep coming back and there's no change, but I still keep coming back anyway. I'm addicted to this thread. Let's give waggy a go, Sven didn't give him a chance blah blah

Let's give waggy a go, Sven didn't give him a chance blah blah Boring boring boring - can't be arsed with this anymore. Bristol City are a tin-pot team (that'll get them going) and we are bigger than this - we are Leicester
ScouseFox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Am I the only one who has had enough of this saga and wants us to take back Yakubu instead? Boring saga or not I'd rather have Yakubu anyway.
Aidy3 Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Bothroyd wants 50k/65k a week, I don't care if we get him on a free, that's ridiculous wages for a player with no proven Prem experience. well i think £5m+ is ridiculous for a player who was injured for half of the previous season and also, has no prem experience.
Redski Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 This stadium.... it was first 'announced' about 4 years ago.... but no date yet given for construction... what makes you so sure it will happen? because we have planning permission, an agreement to sell Ashton gate to sainsburys who also have planning permission and a village green application for the land we own to build the new stadium on has just been overturned by the council. Yes it's taken a long time but construction should start this Autumn.
Happy Fox Posted 9 July 2011 Author Posted 9 July 2011 Q) How many Bristol City fans does it take to screw in a light bulb? A) Doesn't matter they will never see the light
heatherfox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Boring saga or not I'd rather have Yakubu anyway. That goal against Direby was something special. If only he would see sence and come back to the mighty foxes
MPH Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 because we have planning permission, an agreement to sell Ashton gate to sainsburys who also have planning permission and a village green application for the land we own to build the new stadium on has just been overturned by the council. But this billionaire chairman.... hes obviously been around for at least 4 years but you dont appear to be any closer to the Prem... i just wonder how truthful he is being to you all about his financial input.....

Yes it's taken a long time but construction should start this Autumn. What is the point in building a new stadium if you cannot fill it, there is no way it would need to hold more than 22,000 seats, Coventry have never filled there ground and you are on a par with them if not smaller, You only have to look at you attendances last season and you poor away crowd also.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 But this billionaire chairman.... hes obviously been around for at least 4 years but you dont appear to be any closer to the Prem... i just wonder how truthful he is being to you all about his financial input..... Bit like the yanks that were at Liverpool

The Doctor Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 Out of interest, why are brizzle building a new stadium when they can't fill ashton gate?

anotherharboroughfox Posted 9 July 2011 Posted 9 July 2011 It'll help, no doubt about that. Please elaborate how? Just because you played league one in your new stadium doesn't make it the rule. I don't follow...
