'I don't see the big hype over Leicester. They have hardly signed any class players have they?

Lee Peltier = Big wow hardly a good player, big test for him in the NPC

Neil Danns = An ok player but hardly consistent if they want promotion

Kasper Schmeichel = There best buy so far, good keeper

Sean St Ledger = Not a bad defender

David Nugent = Was always overrated and all in all a pretty crap striker

NudieRed's Prediction: Leicester will be overhyped, Sven will be gone by christmas due to a few poor results and for him leaving for 'private reasons' Leicester to full into chaos and end up finishing 12th. Sorry but they don't stand out and I fail to see how they are promotion favourites. '

Even better!!

There are some brilliant armchair supporters on that forum. The common consensus is that all the players we have signed are overated and that Bristols arch rivals from Wales are signing better players with more experience than our lot.

Seriously, does anybody follow the SPL??? I wouldn't know if Goodwillie or Conway are decent or not because in my humble opinion the SPL is dull and I do not study it. Danns has been one of Crystal Palaces best players for couple of years and St. Ledger has done well in a very poor PNE side. Yet they are slating them. :crylaugh:

We must be pissing them off with this Maynard business. There's gonna be a lot of unhappy Bristolians if he signs.

Ok so,

Peltier- highly rated right back with plenty of pace, passion, and a trick or too.

Danns- probably one of the best midfielders in the league and EXPERIENCED.

Kasper- a solid championship goalkeeper

Nugent- deadly at this level experienced, and scored 14 goals in a crap team!

Sven has brought in players who know the league inside out. So if we capture Mills that will be a pretty big signing in my eyes!

I was just thinking the same! We'll all be sick when he fecks us off! lol

I will just be glad when this is over, either way - then the wurzels will clear off back to their own boards..

OTIB is this season's WACCOE.

Don't tar us all with the same brush, I'm sure most on OTIB would agree that Danns is a great signing, Peltier and St Ledger are both players that we have been interested in (according to OTIB) however Schmeichal and Nuggent could be a risk IMO?

Eh? how is Nugent on a free a risk? He scored 14 for a poor Portsmouth team last season.

nothing of the sort - just interesting to read other fans views on our transfer activities and promotion chances. We all live within our own clubs bubble!

Didn't someone mention £25k a week? I wonder how the current squad will feel about that?

They'll be playing in a better team to get themselves on Premier League wages next season. :scarf:

Careful you'll sound like a Cardiff fan soon

If you mananged to sign Maynard and Mills then you will have done very good business this summer.

you could play devils advocaat either way, truth is none of us really know what to expect until a few games into the season.

Peltier and Nugent might be good players but we arent actually stronger in those positions are we from last season when we had Yakubu and Naughton. Danns looks decent but hasnt he only been ina promoted team once, St Ledger looks decent but again is he promotion calibre in this division?

Shoot me

Back on topic I'd liove Maynard, wouldnt pay 5mil for him but we might be in a position where we need a striker so bad we might have too.

Most of the current first teamers i.e king, wellens, galley etc that signed new contracts recently will be touching £25,000 a week so whats your point?leicester have always paid good wages you must find it strange yes?Is it the fact that your average player is on around £5,000 a week? Hence maynard stalling on his contract!!!!

I lived there for a few years... Must have rubbed off. I like others am just excited at the prospect of having a real go this year. And like all footy fans, you have to think ur team are going to achieve their goal.

I don't know what makes them think they can compete in this league by somehow holding onto this player. Even if they did, what makes them think they'd do any better than last season? They are mid-table at best.

They may as well give him up. They're not big enough to hold onto someone who apparently is too big for this league. Although to be honest, I still don't know what all the fuss is about.

They are even convinced that by selling him to a PL club, they'd be able to sell at a lower price than to one in our league. Delusional.

No-one in this league will be prepared to fork out £4m up front for this player. Apart from us. No-one else has the money.

What proof is there that he's good enough for the PL? He needs to show it in a team pushing for promotion, not one looking to make an outside bid for it at best.
