Guys,

OTIB is a joke amongst BCFC fans, I can't bear to read it sometimes. You think its bad now, you should of read some of the sh*t on there the season after we were in the play off final.

Anyway, hand on heart, I've always quite liked Leicester as a club. Decent mid sized club. Its a shame this whole saga has brought out the worst from our more introspective fans.

That said, I dont see Maynard going to you, it just doesnt feel right.

Either way, all the best.

It will be interesting tomorrow, I can see them accepting the next bid, they would be a fool not too, alot of money for any championship player, Sven must think highly of him

Most of the current first teamers i.e king, wellens, galley etc that signed new contracts recently will be touching £25,000 a week so whats your point?leicester have always paid good wages you must find it strange yes?Is it the fact that your average player is on around £5,000 a week? Hence maynard stalling on his contract!!!!

will they bollocks.

I believe King, Wellens and Gallagher signed new deals taking them to £15K a week.

That's what i've heard, i'm sure someone in the know will correct me if i am wrong.

How do you know we're putting in another bid tomorrow?

You honestly think so? After our manager and chairman have both insisted they wont?

Nah. Not unless it really is silly money, enough to make every City fan say 'they paid WHAT?!'

Lansdown is a canny businessman, but hes also doubled his fortune in the last twelve months. I reckon (and I used to work for the guy, very down to earth fella and a 'fan' through and through) he'll be prepared to take a hit on this one.

They signed new deals at the club when yak was on loan! And the fact he was rumoured to be on £50,000 a week (on loan) would make there agents piss with laughter if they were offered £15,000 a week!! As i said they must be touching near £25,000 a week.

Reazon, you are being a little blinkered here like your previous posters. The point you make is a complete contradiction. How can a "canny" business man be prepared to take a hit to the tune of £4,000,000?

I think Haydos has banged the drum a thousand times, but the language your chairman is using is hardly convincing.

Take a look at the statement made by spurs tonight about Modric - Not for sale at any cost, he is a spurs player. That's a no.

Now the statement from your chairman on NM - we don't wish to sell him to another championship club. yet we have it on good authority you will do business at £5,000,000. That's far from a no.

Where do people dream up these salaries from. There is no way that Wellens and King are on £25k.

Sol Bamba earns 2k a week, he is an international footballer (admittedly for a minor nation) in what world would Richie Wellens, a 31 year old ex Doncaster player earn 12 times as much?

I said he's a canny businessman BUT I think, on this one, he's prepared to dig his heels in. It may be just a hunch, but then we know our club better than you do.

This £5m thing is interesting too. Where has it come from? I haven't seen anyone connected with the club mention any numbers whatsoever.

Like I say, I have always quite liked Leicester, but you are guilty of believing your own hype at the moment. I just don't think you will be prepared to pay what it would take for City to accept, not considering how it would degrade the club in the eyes of the fans.

The report says he takes home £2k/week - so his total wage (including tax and national insurance) will be significantly higher than that.

But it's easy to see why his head may be turned by Marseille, as they'd be likely to offer him a big pay rise, which would help him meet his maintenance payments..

Our inside man on this forum has said Bristol want £5-5.5 million for him, his track record suggests no reason not to believe him. Whether we pay it or not is another matter.

What a nice guy Sol is, being forced to court to pay for the child he has left in a different country.

surprised to say the least, didnt think he was that sort of guy.

you could play devils advocaat either way, truth is none of us really know what to expect until a few games into the season.

Peltier and Nugent might be good players but we arent actually stronger in those positions are we from last season when we had Yakubu and Naughton. Danns looks decent

but hasnt he only been ina promoted team once, StLedger looks decent but again is he promotion calibre in this league

Makes sence but then again look at it this way,

Masilela will be an improvement on PVA as good as he was coming forward he was poor defensively.

Bamba/ Mee/ Vitor - all three had their first taste of senior English football, so inconsistency was inevitable St. Ledger is a good standard championship defender who has played at this level for a few years, add Mills to the back four and I think you will notice a huge difference.

Naughton was a class above, however how many better RB was there last season in this league? non IMO, so I think Peltier is a worthy replacement, he plays a similar style to naughts, so give him a chance.

Danns- well King, wellness, abe, and Oakley was the main midfield four that we used last season. Danns has great engine, is skillfull and can put in a challenge or two, therefore I think we have gained some Steele.

Nugent - Nugent is a bit of an enigma really, but he has quality in abundance at this level, he scored 14 goals from

The wing in a poor pompy team last year! He knows the league inside out, and is more mobile than Howard!

I think we have gained in areas and still have time to strengthen! Maybe Mills and the illusive 20 goal target man and the job is nearly done!

Mills and Maynard would be improvements nobody could disagree on, lets hope it happens.

Another classic from 'THAT' BCFC forum:

'Don't underestimate the club and stuff around it either. He seems to get on with the rest of the lads and Bristol is a fantastic place to live. Better than Leicester and Nottingham for certain.'

Having relativies down there I don't think so! 'For Certain!' Maynard could get a nice gaff down the Ridgeway in Rothley for the dosh he could be on with us.

In order to take home 2k he'd Earn just under 4k a week (about £3,800).

All this about Bristol being a nicer city is utterly irrelevant and largely bollocks. If we're talking shitty areas, Bristol has more than its fair share. Also, as rough as some of our council estates are they aren't notorious for the residents forcing out Asian newcomers as one estate in Bristol was. Though as I say, this is largely irrelevant in Maynard's case.

The man will be on a minimum of £20k a week. He won't be living in a semi just off Hand Avenue will he? His life will be much like it probably is now, living in some nice country pile with electric gates out in the sticks. He's not a million miles away from the bright lights of London if he fancies it, and closer to his birthplace and probably family in Cheshire.

All of a sudden, LESTA'S A SHITHOLE HERP DERP seems less like a reason for Maynard to fvck us off.

Muzzy and Lennon didn't earn 30k until Taylor took over, that was back in 2000/1 when we handed out stupid contracts. Luka Modric currently earns £45k a week, are you seriously suggesting that he earns twice as much as average championship player Richie Wellens? I'd suggest you have a word with yourself if you think that we are paying those sort of wages to very average players.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Nottingham-Forest-eye-Chelsea-Jack-Cork-have-bid-Bristol-City-Nicky-Maynard-rejected-article761318.html

McClaren will have to raise his offer for Bristol City striker Maynard after a £2.5m bid plus David McGoldrick was rejected by the Robins, who are holding out for £4m for the highly-rated forward.

McClaren said: “We want to bring in the players that will help us make that vital step to promotion to the Premier League.”
