Redski Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 What you're saying is true, but if I were you'd I'd be fairly worried about the fact he is stalling the contract negotiations which clearly indicates he is looking for a move somewhere. I would say if a Prem team comes in then he's gone, whether or not he would hand in a request to join us if a different story. If he signs with you tomorrow then great, we look elsewhere and probably get a striker of a similar calibre and you keep your man for at least a while. In all honesty I think that's what he's holding out for, it's still early days so plenty of time for a prem side to come knocking and it is a worry but I personally think unless a prem side shows an interest he'll sign a new deal with us.

Seems to me Sven is looking at players who are proven at this level and can adapt a side quickly to get us to the prem. He probably doesn't want to bring in players that will take their time to settle in and adapt to what is a very competitive league.
