STUHILL Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 If they want more than 5 Million, then I would prefer we went after Bothroyd on a free!! Save money and we got a player who we know can do it at this level. Pick up Maynard on a free when we get promoted next year
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 The novelty of a boat never wears out on me. Not that I've actually been to either of the other two. And I've only been to Thekla once. I'm a simple man. My cousin used to work in the Ram on Park Street. We got collared by some journalists there during the whole Joanna Yeates thing. His mate behind the bar told them where to go. This is my "Irrelevant 'Kokopops related Bristol FACT OF THE DAY". Tune in for another one tomorrow. I did not realise there was a Big Chill in Bristol. I've been to the one in Shoreditch a few times. It's superbly chilled during the week. At weekends it gets like this. I like Bristol. If I didn't live in London I think I'd live there. What! You like Bristol? Been their a few times to watch rugby and soccer. I can't stand it. Only Gloucester is worse. Bath is more mu cup of tea in that area. Really upmarket, just like me.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Bristol fans. Quickfire question. Thekla, Motion or Lizard Lounge? GO GO GO If the question is which is Nicky Maynard likely to be in, I'd go Lizard Lounge. If it's a recommendation you're after, none of them - hmmmm, where's good in Bristol... ... ... no pass, I'm a local and I can't decide. It's never been the same since 'Odesey' changed it's name to 'The Works' and it's not even called that any more.
rich2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Word is they will not accept a bid from a rival championship team for less than 7m.He is not worth it.we will not sign him. 3 bids declined I think we should move on

dannythefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 How can any an average championship team say no to 4m if we got offered that when Pearson was here we'd of taken 4m for Fryatt or King?
Houdini Logic Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Bristol fans. Quickfire question. Thekla, Motion or Lizard Lounge? GO GO GO Thekla on a Monday night. £1 a jager bomb, £1.50 a beer and an entire deck upstairs for you to puke over the side of come 4am
Redski Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 How can any an average championship team say no to 4m if we got offered that when Pearson was here we'd of taken 4m for Fryatt or King? What a stupid thing to say, why would we accept anything less than our valuation for one of our players regardless of our placing in the league.
dannythefox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 What a stupid thing to say, why would we accept anything less than our valuation for one of our players regardless of our placing in the league. Errr because if you sold him for 4m you could spend it on improving your team and finish in a better league position. Take the money now because if he has and ok season this time round he will never go for that much! Or he could just walk away for free next season that would be funny
Walshy5 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Anyone care to inform me of any maynard developments today? Again like the Mills thread cant be arsed to read through loads of pages.
Redski Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Or we show a bit of ambition and try our to keep our best players so that we can finish as high as possible. You never know he may even sign a new deal with an 'average club'....
cc_star Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Anyone care to inform me of any maynard developments today? You never know he may even sign a new deal with an 'average club'.... I just think 4m is a lot to turn down for most championship clubs especially when you can buy 2or3 players with it to improve your team. One quality player doesn't make a team!
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 We're playing this transfer market brilliantly. Bringing in all these quality players at this level will provide enough leverage to take Maynard in as well. Timing is crucial. With Mills in, this should be enough to sway the decision in our favour. He'd be a fool to stay where he is and no-one in this league can compete with us on a financial level. No-one.
Wymsey Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 If we do bid 4/5/6 million for him then the Merc lied saying Sven had a £10 million budget. (I think I remember rightly that Bert was told that there's more than this Sven has to spend... )

They certainly have! And i think that comming out public about balancing the books when the new cheif ex took over, was a good tactical move by the club, making other clubs think we were not as rich as everyone thought!! We are leicster city on the up!!!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 The Maynard bids are simply a ruse so that when we bid £500k for Brett "Chicken" Pitman, they'll snap our hands off. A much better prospect in my book. Sven, go get that Chicken!
jock2612 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Have to say thought we had no chance of Mills so now i really can dream Maynard before we go to Sweden? or maybe i should be negative again it seemed to work last time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scarf: :scarf:

We have sent a statement out to the rest of the league and any potential targets that we mean serious business.
blueblood88 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I think we should really go for Maynard starting now, if we can get him then the squad is REALLY taking shape BTW when do city travel to Sweden?

Plus, Maynard will have seen who we have been signing and I think that will sway in our favour
