Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 and 2 games into the season your one striker gets injured.. then what? we've just spent 5 million on a defender, surely if we're serious we should be looking at spending 20 million on strikers (plural)... oh sorry i know someones gonna knock me down and start taking the p*ss but if we want to get anywhere we've got to start thinking big. if we don't take chances we're not going anywhere Well then we need backup strikers who can do the job. Any striker can get injured, its just bad luck.

What on earth do you think is going on at the moment. Oh and foxblogger put out some stats not long ago. Something like only 3 out of the last 16 promoted teams had a 20 goal striker in the league. It's about the team!!!

Why because BCFC will not sell to another Championship club, they can afford David James, they can afford to keep Nicky Maynard. Maynard is happy at BCFC, has NOT handed in a transfer request and will only leave for the premier league FACT that's not a fact. FACT they changed their statement from "won't sell" to "don't wish to sell". Big difference. FACT he doesn't need to hand in a request. All he has to do is not sign the contract. Sniff sniff I smell a Bristol WUM.

Also at the Bristol City board. If they do end up rejecting our wedge so they can finish mid table in the championship only to lose Maynard next season on a free, good on them. I will pretty hard I must say.

Sven is likely to look elsewhere now that they are playing such hard ball. Or they believe we have so much money to dspend he wants as much as he can get. I think he will get to keep his player and lose him next year. Could be a very expensive gamble. On the question of Maynard wanting Premeir league football, What if a PL club offers 3 mil? Is your club going to refuse that bid? Because I am sure Maynard will hand in a transfer request quicker than you can say Leicester City Football club. This is the risk you really face. A PL team won't have to pay what you are trying to get from us for Maynard to drop his bundle.
