When I listening to the interwiw with Sven on BBC the last words from Sven was is it official?

:scarf: :scarf:

Well he was asked about Michael Ball and Sven replied "Is it official" - had nothing to do with Yakubu

Thanks!

In that case they must have cut down the question a lot from what I heard. This was on internet and perhaps you saw it on tele...they cut as they like!

But think the Yak is lazy but he knew were the goal is and with Nugent!

Future is bright :scarf:

Cant we just pay his wages he wont get in Everton's team as there after another striker anyway. This will be the difference between going up or not!

so what its better than spending 7million and he will score 20 goals! You cant say that about Maynard or Long who had one good season last year.

I wouldn't mind the Yak here but the impression I got from that football forum with Sven on when posed the question about the Yak the reply Sven gave was that it was unlikely to happen because of his wage demands

I'd rather get Yak on loan and pay higher wages rather than paying 7m for a player with one good season under his belt. Yak WILL score 25+ goals in a season, Long or Maynard MIGHT but they are no way near the established level the Yak is at. Yes they could do well and get the goals and prove to be worth every penny, but as we saw last season the Yak is a scorer and will tear this division apart with the team we have now.

smashing your transfer record wont effect teh other players, paying one player double the rests wages and leaves you open to all sorts of problems...

the fact he may not want to drop down either dont help

Everyone will be on different wages anyway so I don't see that being a problem really. The target is premier league and we will struggle to get automatic if we don't get someone who WILL score 20 goals.

probably doesnt give off the best signals to give the laziest players 20k a week more than everyone else...

I got the impression Sven wasn't especially pleased with some of Yak's performances (he hinted such during interviews when he dropped him). Yak also seems to be given another chance at Everton so I think its totally off the table. I think our interest in him was being used as a scare tactic for the Maynard deal anyway.

yes but they are all on 'around' the same amount i would imagine. Having a player on say 15k a week that is a regular in the first team is 100% going to kick up a fuss if someone rolls into the club on double or even more. ultimately they are doing the same job. So they should be paid roughly the same for doing that job.

I would certainly kick up a fuss anyway in that position at my workplace.

i think there is a wage structure at city and paying yak what he wanted would have broken that.

So if you had been working at your job for 5 years, and a hugely experienced person came in to work in your team who had 12 years experience, had an extremely successful career and had been brought in to provide the finishing touches for your team that would take you from working with small local clients to international powerhouse clients, you don't think that person should get more wages than you and you would complain?

In any job, some people are worth more. Yes they may be going towards the same goal, but some provide more than others and have earned more than others because of their history. The Yak is one of them people because he has the experience, quality and could easily be the difference between us going up and not. If we go up because of his goals, then all the players are likely to get a decent payrise so i'm not sure that anyone would bemoan him for being paid more. The likes of Nugent, King, Pantsil etc haven't earned the right to demand the kind of wages that Yakubu can demand.

you cant say promotion would be solely down to his goals though, how about the midfielder who set him up for them ?? or the defence for keepinng the clean sheet that day ??

if a ceiling is there for wages and it gets smashed the other players will want more..

we could be talking twice as much wages here, are you saying you would do the exact same job for someone on half there pay ??

also if we do go up theres no guarantee the players will still have a place in the team so who can say they will receive a payrise??

There isnt a being on this earth that can do what i do better than i can.

We know that Everton would sell him, and we know that the club could afford it if they wanted to. Sven's seen him close up last season and for whatever reason has decided that he's not wanted. Why can't everyone accept this?
