Toffee_Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Pretty sure he's been left out of all but one pre-season game. Just cause he's in the first team picture doesn't mean anything. Didn't travel because his wife was giving birth, he's played in all the England based games.

Bugg Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Didn't travel because his wife was giving birth, he's played in all the England based games. Fair enough then. Bit late to be having a baby at 60
FoxTrott Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 My two cents is Sven is now familiar with the market, sees how scarce decent strikers are at the minute and now realises we will have to stretch our wage budget, despite the potential hostility from other players (as some people claim...). Quite surprised no other clubs have expressed that much of an interest. I really hope we get the Yak, even more so than Keane, but I reckon he's well cooled off the idea of a move to Leicester now. Please prove me wrong!

Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Author Posted 14 August 2011 Who knows, but I would take the Yak back in a heartbeat he scores goals, but admit-tingly we would need a winger with pace to compliment his attributes
Salieri Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I'd get him back play 4-4-2 with nugent. Not gonna happen i'm afraid. If we got the Yak back it would just mean Nugent would play out wide.
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Author Posted 14 August 2011 I expect that Sven will bring in two more strikers and a winger before the transfer window shuts here is hoping
Callabinho Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Not gonna happen i'm afraid. If we got the Yak back it would just mean Nugent would play out wide. rather have Nugent out wide to be honest, He seems comfortable running the channels.
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Author Posted 14 August 2011 rather have Nugent out wide to be honest, He seems comfortable running the channels. If that is the case the wouldn't we need another striker or winger to cover the channels as well?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Once we bring in another striker, they'll be in the centre and I think Nugent will be LW. He seems to have pace and a trick or two to beat a man, but can't do that in the centre because of the two CBs, he can't beat them both. Whereas he could beat a RB or a LB and maybe try to whip a cross in or take a shot.

Vardinhio Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Would like to see if we could agree a loan for Michael Kightly, though not 100% sure where he is in terms of comeback from injury. Failing that Nathan Delfuenso (sp?) from Villa. I believe he could play as part of an attacking 3. He has pae to burn and can also score a goal.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I doubt we will sign Yakubu. But for a winger, in this league, can you get any better than Kebe? I've said it for about 6 months now, if he was to play RW in a front 3 for us, with Nugent on the left and a good striker in the centre, then we'd score goals. Knowing us we'd probably start conceding them by the bucketload then.

Not to sure about michael knightly since i have not seen much about him but deffaintley nathan delfounso when he played us at home he played out right for burnley and even tho it was van aanholt marking him he ripped are defence about with his pace and every time he got the ball he was a threat would think we could get him on a perm deal aswell ?
