hairy Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 The Rapture. So Judgement Day this Saturday with the world ending in October. Cool. The internet is full of it. Just because some bloke from a radio station show says so. Bear in mind this is his second attempt at getting it right. Harold Camping American stores are not accepting orders Christ Returns May 21, 2011 Sorry, we are no longer accepting requests for free materials. Dear Friends, With our Lord's Return such a short time away, we are no longer offering free printed materials since there is not enough time remaining for us to effectively produce and distribute them. The goal of WeCanKnow has always been to provide easy access to faithful, Bible-teaching ministries and to share witnessing ideas and electronic materials. We will continue these missions as the Lord allows. You can find these resources and more in the links to the left. We are ever thankful for the opportunity that God has given us to serve along side all of you. It is our continued prayer that God might be pleased to use these materials along with all of your efforts according to His will in these final days. May the Lord bless and strengthen His elect as we await His Glorious Return on May 21, 2011. The Americans are ready and even over keen for it ARKANSAS CITY (AP) -- A Little Rock woman was killed yesterday after leaping through her moving car's sun roof during an incident best described as "a mistaken rapture" by dozens of eye witnesses. Thirteen other people were injured after a twenty-car pile up resulted from people trying to avoid hitting the woman who was apparently convinced that the rapture was occurring when she saw twelve people floating up into the air, and then passed a man on the side of the road who she claimed was Jesus. "She started screaming "He's back, He's back" and climbed right out of the sunroof and jumped off the roof of the car," said Everet Williams, husband of 28-year-old Georgann Williams who was pronounced dead at the scene. "I was slowing down but she wouldn't wait till I stopped," Williams said. She thought the rapture was happening and was convinced that Jesus was gonna lift her up into the sky," he went on to say. "This is the strangest thing I've seen since I've been on the force,"said Paul Madison, first officer on the scene. Madison questioned the man who looked like Jesus and discovered that he was dressed up as Jesus and was on his way to a toga costume party when the tarp covering the bed of his pickup truck came loose and released twelve blowup dolls filled with helium which floated up into the air. Ernie Jenkins, 32, of Fort Smith, who's been told by several of his friends that he looks like Jesus, pulled over and lifted his arms into the air in frustration, and said "Come back here," just as the Williams' car passed him. Mrs. Williams was sure that it was Jesus lifting people up into the sky as they passed by him, according to her husband, who says his wife loved Jesus more than anything else. When asked for comments about the twelve dolls, Jenkins replied "This is all just too weird for me. I never expected anything like this to happen." BUT WHY LEAVE IT UNTIL CITY HAVE A GOOD MANAGER AND AN UNLIMITED BUDGET! FFS! CANT JESUS JUST WAIT ANOTHER COUPLE OF YEARS. WE HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH Do FTers have any thoughts on the matter
Jon the Hat Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 That second story might well be the funniest sequence of events ever to occur.
Asha Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Bollocks. This kind of shit again. The biggest problem is for me that I have this innate irrational tendency to assume these are true - and at the least, worry myself ill that they will be.
lcfcadam Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Lolcats. We've been doing a bit of study into Rapture fiction at university and the fact that a new date for the end of the world is set by someone, somewhere, pretty much every day is proof conclusive to me that we probably don't have too much to worry about. And if we do have something to worry about, we probably won't know way in advance!
Thracian Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Haha - if there was some reference to Nibiru (Planet X) it might have made more fascinating reading!
zubi Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 I'm not great on Christianity to the extent I know about their views on judgement day. But doesn't Jesus have to make a second coming before judgement day? Or did the Americans decide to skip that out?
acooling08 Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 I wonder if bookies are taking bets on it not happening.. I'd go and put absolutely everything on it. I'd doubt they'd be so stupid as to listen to a few bible-bashing yank idiots.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 The Americans would think the end of the world had come, if they ran out of fries and burgers.

If it did happen, and you lost, they wouldn't get to use the money anyway. If it didn't happen, they'd have to pay you. Literally nobody would take that bet. Nobody.
Fosse Boy Posted 17 May 2011 Posted 17 May 2011 Thats my Birthday At least people will remember it in futu... ooooooo, sorry...

I bet bookies in the Hick states of USofA would take it!

Reminds me of when about me and 10 of my mates offered another mate $5k from each of us to commit suicide, you should of seen his braining tick over and one of the quotes he came up with was "That sort of money could set me up for life"
Fox You Forest Posted 19 May 2011 Posted 19 May 2011 Better have a few extra pints Friday night then.
Father Ted Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 Article A HUGE earthquake will herald the end of the world and the destruction of mankind tomorrow, an evangelical Christian leader is warning. The head of a US Christian broadcaster says he is certain the apocalypse is upon us and may watch the drama unfold at home on television. The theory is that those worth saving will go to heaven while the rest of humanity will be left to face oblivion after a day of judgement — beginning at 7am in the UK — accompanied by the second coming of Christ. Harold Camping, 89, has made similar forecasts before however. He previously predicted Jesus would return to Earth in 1994 - and atheists have reacted to his latest prophecy by arranging a "countdown to back-pedaling" party in anticipation he will be left red-faced. Camping, head of the 140-station Christian radio network Family Stations, says true believers will progress to the afterlife while those left behind will perish at some point in the chaos of the next couple of months as the world is destroyed. All non-believers are due to be dead by October 21 - and there is no doubt in his mind. The former engineer said: "We know without any shadow of a doubt it is going to happen. "We do not have a Plan B at all. There is no possibilty that it will not happen because all of our information comes from the Bible." Camping's supporters have posted around 2,200 road-side posters advertising the up-coming catastrophe while dozens of his followers have driven across the US to warn the population of their impending doom. He himself will be at home with his wife in northern California. "I'll probably try to be very near a TV or a radio or something," said Camping. "I'll be interested in what's happening on the other side of the world as this begins." Sam Mulvey, 33, organised the atheists' countdown bash. He said: "If the world still exists the next day, Family Radio is going to have to say something and most of the time they backpedal, and that's what we're counting down to." Camping bases his predictions on his reading of the Bible and a timeline dating back to ancient events including the story of a flood survived by Noah. But even those who broadly agree with his ideas don't like the way he addresses the prospect of Armageddon. Apocalyptic author Jerry Jenkins said: "As a believer, I'm already a kook compared to most people, so for someone to choose a date and get everyone excited about a certain time, my problem is it makes us look worse." James18 Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 I swear I heard somewhere that this is the 5th time (or something like that) he's predicted the end of the world. I don't understand people who predict the end of the world anyway? If you get it wrong then you look like a fool, if you get it right then there's no one around to be impressed by your predictions. Lose/lose situation
smallpauldj Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 I thought the largest earthquake was in chile and there not due the same scale one in our lifetime and that never ended the world
Legend_in_blue Posted 20 May 2011 Posted 20 May 2011 He's a year, 7 months and a day early with his prediction.
